    In this episode of TFBTV, ‪@JamesReeves‬ talks with BFG Director of Training and former Army Ranger, Chris Sizelove, about the new Blue Force Gear 10-Speed Split Chest Rig. A pricey but well thought out and extremely well-constructed piece of gear, the 10-Speed Split Rig is a great minimalist option when a plate carrier might be unnecessary or unavailable.
    According to BFG: "The Ten-Speed SF Chest Rig features a split-front design, making it easy to unzip when lying prone. This low-profile tactical chest rig removes unnecessary bulk with a minimalistic, lightweight design. The Ten-Speed military-grade elastic pouches are designed to lay flat when not in use and will secure four M4 / AR / SR25 / AK / SCAR-H magazines and other similarly sized items. MOLLEminus™ fields on the front of the magazine pouches allow additional MOLLE accessories to be mounted to the front of each mag pouch."

      @@swissmilitischristilxxii3691 All their gear is made right here in the US. This rig is expensive, but you’re paying for innovation, it’s what happens in this industry. This rig is made from Ultra-Comp, and it’s not a cheap material, but it’s some great stuff. Having everything made in the US, the price is higher for production because it’s a luxury now days to make stuff here. This company doesn’t cheap out on anything, which is what you’re paying for with their products.

      @jackjohnson291 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I like HSP’s rigs (own a few), but these incorporate material that is just more expensive. Getting licensed MC or other printed elastomer in the dimensions they seem to be using is expensive and hard to come by. I only know from trying to find some for making my own personal stuff. Of course, you’re also paying for the name (there’s no getting around that). That said, I’m very grateful for what they do, as BFG is always pushing the boundaries of lightweight and durable products.

    • @AhHereWeGo
      @AhHereWeGo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jackjohnson291 They're a simple, single compartment zipper pouch, not the ten speed. the only difference is that you get their helium attachment system, but that's not worth the extra $50

    • @jackjohnson291
      @jackjohnson291 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@AhHereWeGo The rig itself is $250. The $400 is everything as shown for display. That’s pretty steep for two GP pouches, but it’s not entirely out of line with what all the other top makers are doing (Spiritus, Crye, HSP, etc.).
      Edit to say, one can add or omit pouches as he sees fit. Personally, I’m only interested in the rig. If I’m going with something this slick, it’s for a reason, and throwing two large GP pouches on the front kind of defeats the purpose (imho). I’m not big on extra pouches as is, even less so with big GP pouches. Even on my most scaled up rigs, I keep pouches as much to a minimum as possible (it’s just extra and often, unnecessary weight and bulk).

    400 dollars? For a chest rig to be made out of thinner elastic material? That is ridiculous.
    If you want lighter weight and lower profile, just go with a lower denier cordera nylon. 1000 is overkill unless you're literally going to war anyways. And if you're going to war, you won't be using this, but a plate carrier instead.
    Just buy a rig meant for airsoft from a brand like Condor or something. It'll serve the purpose, be lighter, lower profile, way way waaay cheaper, and will last you forever if you're a civilian. I bought a condor urban go bag 11 or 12 years ago, used it virtual every day, and it's still going strong.
