Guys, there’s one thing I want, Mimic 2.0. We should be able to affect individual slices in slice mode. It’s a huge oversight that we can’t individually pitch, stretch, filter, reverse, etc them. The ability to lock the stretch to song tempo in slice mode should be there too. I want to use mimic but these issues force me to stay in serato sample. Having the ability to load whole Rex files would be great too

@LossLeadas I asked @Reason Studios for a larger midi editing view and apparently they did it. I asked @Reason Studios for ghost notes. Apparently they did it. So, more innovations and additions to the sequencer and piano roll are also wanted by other people.
I also asked in a comment under this video for Dolby Atmos adm, fiedler Atmos Plugin, and video importing to be added into the program.
The signature bundle and all plug-ins versions of Fl Studio come with the fruity video editor which allows you to import video footage into the daw to write and arrange music to. Imagine Hans Zimmer writing music for the movies that he works on. Cakewalk added video import into their daw over 20 years ago. Fl Studio can do it but Reason can't? Make it make sense. There are actually new composers composing in Fl Studio!!!I couldn't believe it until i saw it for myself. And they were good man..😢. It sounded good... 😢 😢 😢...😭 ... 😆 🤣😆 .
Come on @Reason Studios... we've got to move forward into the future. Why wouldn't they want to make the program usable to composers and film scorers as well?
Also, bitwig, reaper, Cubase and Nuendo have much better audio comping and editing abilities, midi editing and changing abilities, and video handling and audio routing abilities. It would be nice to see Reason to continue to advance with the Apple companies philosophies of... creating the complex and making it super easy to do. That's what Steve Jobs did. He required it. Let's create the coolest, most creative, and most helpful products... and make it easy for the average person to use... easily.
I hope this helps @Reason Studios.
I'm rooting for you. Others are wanting you to continue to be great. Beyond just adding a soft synth on every update. If every version gets a soft synth on an update, make major improvements to the daw features, capabilities and capacities in the .5 update. Example 13.5 adding MPE,multi-channel vst signal routing to the mixer for recording all the loaded instruments in kontakt 7 into Reason at the same time to save time in midi, like bounce to audio... but bounce to new separate midi channels that could be bounced to audio after your arrangement is made, before you start mixing, etc. That would be dope. I love you @Reason Studios. You were my first daw, therefore you're my first love. And I don't want to give up on you. Don't let Fl Studio continue to outperform you.

I was one of the first people in Newcastle UK, to be using Reason seriously as a tool which could be used to produce any type of music. Many people thought it was "only for techno and dance music", which I thought was rubbish from the beginning.
I was using a lot of live recordings of my guitar/bass/piano playing, and playing them as samples - but the samples were like 5 minutes long or more sometimes. So it was a multitrack recorder to me.
And I loved having the classic instruments, such as: the Rhodes, and the Hammond organ.
    I loved Reason.
I ended up giving up on making music, but If I had kept going, I would have stuck with Reason for being so user-friendly, and beautiful to look at/use. (Nobody knows, but Reason was used on my music that Chuck D, had on his web page "Slamjamz").

I want to know, why the team removed the possibility to add Rack Extensions to favorites list and that favorite lists, which contained Rack extensions had their contents removed when updating reason to 13. I mean, in theory it was possible that absolutely nobody working at reason studios as well as absolutely nobody of those who they involve in beta phases have not even one rack extension in their favorite lists. Besides that being highly unlikely, even if it was true, it would mean that you need to significantly diversify your test groups. To put it more simple: the idea to prevent anything from being found in the browser is a bad idea in general. The fix to your new browser is to remove any kind of limitation about things it can show.

Well not want to be harsh but sincerely instead of having such polished videos it would be actually more amazing if the price would match the expectation. Not sure why other daws are cheaper for more features.
Don't even get me started at the rack extensions.
Atleast all of them could be accessible with the subscription not just the reason once.
The Reason 13 upgrade was a step in the right direction but a small step. I would recommend to stop for one version the Synths development and add more tools that make arrangement and also managing big projects easier.
The Rack is awesome but not everything has to be done by cable or atleast give macros to easily do stuff that is repetive.
I would recommend to you guys to look at Cubase and Bitwig. Take the idea of the modulators from Bitwig and do a Device which has all of such modulators.
Take the midi editing tools of cubase and you have again a DAW where people run to and you don't have to milk your customers because they get less and less.

Im not getting used to the new browser. Its really made for the Reason soundbank as a center it seems. Also when you go to the mixer and you create a send effect you can only pick patches. I want to pick a device there like it used to be. A few chances have been missed to get the sidechaintool right too. Would have been so much nicer to see the sound (kick) that controls it in the display (Like kickstart). I do like the update but theres still work to be done. Reason gives me a hardware exception also every now and then which never happened before. Of course behind the scenes development which will iron out things. I do hope the focus goes from workflow (been the focus for a lot of new versions) and get to the core of the functionality more like scale view in the sequencer, a nice included transient shaper. Plus please get some more modern sound designers on board for Polytone! Its a great synth but the patches included are just not cutting it in this modern music landscape.

Reason 13 is awesome yet the window for the instrument, effects and utilities can barely fit the name of the device in it.. it need some minor improvements and here’s just my idea however it seems it would be natural to just hover the pointer over the side browser and click, a prompt will then automatically ask if you want to turn on or off this feature to enable the side horizontal browser to pop out just in that general side area to be resizable while in use then will automatically zoom back in position once the program detects you are now back to other perimeters of the DAW.(mixer, rack or sequencer). I think that will
better utilize the new 3-D upgrades to visually be able to read and see graphics better and overall be a really appreciated and great upgrade to reason 13’s next update.. and I have more later.

  • @MrPriceTigerStyle
    @MrPriceTigerStyle 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

I really hope you bring back the old file lister. The windowed file browser was one of my biggest issues with Reason, before the glorious update (can't remember which number) that finally added a proper file view, and I'm not going back to that system again. I'm not against a windowed file requester being there, that's fine, lay all the resources you want on requesters and tags, most of the features rolled out in the last decade haven't been for me anyways. But for the love of amens, please don't force me to use it. And keeping the same screen space for the same thing, but just the least used part of it?.. Just feels odd, since I'm assuming you're not actively trying to drive those away that don't like the old way. I don't even care about favorites (but that would also be odd removing), just a proper, fixed, file lister.
I heard the reasoning for the windowed file requester was that not many reported using favorites (or something along those lines), but would love to know the reasoning behind keeping that part of the screen, but only for devices?

Having worked with the new update, I find it quite good. The new tools have brought a fresh breath of air into the mix. However, I have noticed a significant increase in bugs, or perhaps the debugging wasn't fully completed. Crashes have become more frequent, with the program closing unexpectedly. This used to happen very rarely. Usually, it occurs due to external VSTs, but I must reiterate that there were fewer such issues with the previous version 12. This is the main downside for me personally.
I am really looking forward to future updates with new features for Mimic and Combinator, as well as a refresh for the classic EQ with the addition of a spectrum analyzer.
It would be great to have the ability to switch from a spectrum analyzer to a scope on the mixer, so we can see the sound wave itself. This is especially important when you want to visually check the kick drum and bass and see how they work together.
In any case, it's an excellent update. I've already reworked two tracks using the new tools.

2:14 - this is where grouping sequencer tracks by source would help - there's really no need to have separate tracks for players, instruments, effects and inserts, when all of them originate from the same sound source; at the very least, folder tracks should be introduced to collect all those other tracks after the fact
2:26 - no, that's very rarely required - how about you'll extract the piano roll to a separate panel alongside sequencer, rack & mixer and let user decide if and how they want to arrange it on the screen?
2:37 - unfortunately you failed, e.g. I can't see how I can chop a drum loop and re-arrange it (move stuff around, stretch individual hits, reverse stuff, etc.) in the edit window?
2:50 - well, clearly Mattias doesn't know what people want - most long-standing user requests have not been taken into account, like markers, folders, missing keyboard shortcuts, dark mixer, MIDI comping, and so on... one person shouldn't shoulder that responsibility; and also the level this is done at? Mattias is excited to say "let's do new browser" without any vision or idea, then is somehow happy of "hundreds of documents" produced by Ludvik who's trying to come up with something, so he probably spends weeks & months working, only for Mattias again cutting out features & functionalities, because for whatever Reason it has to be simple and streamlined. No, you guys are "light years" behind the clutter or FL or Reaper, so you can keep adding features without worry!
3:50 - "all the new colors" - is that we you've still not added custom themes? why mixer is still bright?? why Blue was removed??? good DAW GUI should have a very limited number of base colors so they could be easily swapped up by devs or users; using 10 shades of grey for the GUI goes directly against that principle - it's the devices, mixer and GUI that should shine, catch the eye with design & colors; the DAW itself should be flat & almost invisible
5:20 - sorry, I don't believe in a single word this guy's saying; if developers really had anything to say, we'd have custom installation folders, custom (and way more of) keyboard shortcuts, full-screen application, separate scaling of GUI panels, etc.
9:10 - good job, really well prepared launch! too bad it's paper-thin, but it's not that team's fault
eh, I'm tired watching it for the 5th time :D

I asked @Reason Studios for a larger midi editing view and apparently they did it.

The upgrade price of $199 is actually crazy for what's being offered. The remixed sequencer is a good, though small step in the right direction. However, everything else seems (I say seems because i won't judge it outright without having spent any hands on time with it) underwhelming at best.

national heroes! Was so cool to meet and chill at superbooth! Reason and Rebirth is a huge part of my musical upbringing - was like virtual training and preparation before i encountered the real stuff and started a career. Love and R13 is AWESOME
