The split jersey game with AJ Hawk and Brady Quinn! So many awesome players and personalities on in this game too, Samadzija, Schlegel, and of course General Bobby Carpenter! This OSU team had nearly beaten Vince Young and the eventual champs Texas in a shootout at the Horseshoe, while Notre Dame had nearly beaten Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush and the defending champs USC, both these teams were close to being in that Rose Bowl title game themselves
Not as good as 2002 vs that legendary Miami team when all these stars were freshman except for Ginn and Holmes o wanna say and Troy Smith of course cause of krenzel
I miss when college players were generally from the area of the team they played for. Pretty sure every offensive starter except Holmes was from Ohio. Good luck finding anything close to that on any D1 program now let alone the top ones
7:10 I wonder how Brady Quinn and AJ Hawk are doing after this game 😂. I mean Quinn’s sister is Hawk’s wife and seeing her husband take down her brother is like…. dang 😂
Fun fact idk if people remember this but #83 for ND is jeff samardja he went on to be the Chicago cubs starting pitching n actually had a really good couple year run
I watched this game as a kid, but I had no idea that MLB All-Star Jeff Samardzija played football for Notre Dame. I mainly remembered this game for Santonio Holmes' early TD celebration.

Same with me. This was played the season before I started following college football. I was completely obvious to all the hype for the USC-Texas game. I didn't really follow sports at all at the time.
Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr in NCAA Football 07 just wasn’t fair lol
