    Having done some dirt roads, I suspected the bike would be fairly capable if set up like yours is. I had no idea it would be this capable. Sounds like it's a bit of a workout, though! Well done!

      Thank you sir. Wouldn’t be so much of a work out if I wasn’t so unfit! One of the keys to it being good off road is the clutch, real easy and smooth isn’t it.

      Hi, perhaps you should investigate the TH-cam videos of the Triumph 650s & 500s of the California desert. Until Husqvarna arrived, they ruled the roost.

    That was impressive in the front suspension performance and in the video of it.
    That you had the conviction to test your work is also impressive. This presentation
    also stirs my imagination of what RE could do with their 650cc engine to make a Hyper Himalayan.

      Thank you sir, yes it would be great if they could just take this engine and drop in a platform like the Triumph 1200 scrambler.

    I love the Interceptor.. you did a great job turning it into a weekend warrior. But with all the time and money invested in this project, wouldnt it have been better to simply press a Himalayan into service and save the Interceptor for kinder surfaces.. After all, if the Himalayan's a work boot, the Interceptor's more of an urban shoe. I expect to get flamed, but I have both.

    • @DormanDiaries
      @DormanDiaries  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment John,
      I've had a dual sport before but they are too compromised on the road. At the end of the day the majority of miles I will do will be road based but I want to be able to get muddy boots when required. Same thinking with my land rover, its running mud terrains even though 80% of the time it doesn't need them, but its pointless having it if I can't drag a laden trailer across a muddy field when I need to. Cost wise most of mine are home grown and at minimal cost and a big part of the enjoyment is fabricating and customizing. Like a big boys Meccano!!

    Great vid. I like your comment about GS's. They have got ridiculous as green/off road bikes. I used to have an 80's GS and it was bloody great. I used it on North Derbyshire and S Yorkshire green lanes, to the IoM and trail rode it there and down to the South of France. Where is that type of bike now?
