I just picked up one...I have not yet unboxed it. I believe you are not supposed to run with the flush kit going. You need the the ear muffs on the lower unit. They say you can damage the motor ! Flush kit is for flushing only.
@@MegaPancakes I had to get a jack plate to get the engine height perfect. My transom is a weird 17 inches tall. Short shaft version was too short. Long shaft was too long without the jack plate. Other than that it has worked flawless for the last 15 hours. Starts right up, uses hardly any gas, quiet as heck, and plenty of power. I can go fast enough for my skill level with 3 full grown men and fishing gear in the boat.
Great presentation. I have a 13 foot inflatable caterman style boat from True kit called the Discovery. It is stamped for a 15 inch 20hp outboard. I really like the ccs (432) on the F20 (closet dealer to we’re I live) but 126 lbs. I will be taking this motor on and off. The next dealer has Suzuki, Mercury and Honda. All around 100lbs. Honda has the biggest cc’s but carved and around 500 more. Suzuki and Merc look spec to spec the same. Leaning towards the SuzukiDF20. Your thoughts- reliability, performance and function with manual tilt. Thanks
I’m really digging these Suzuki vids ! I run a Yamaha T9.9 as a kicker on my Walleye boat and it’s an amazing motor but I’d like to see a comparison to Suzuki’s 9.9 BTHL2 as it’s probably just as sweet.
Just ordered one of these outboard Motors for my 14' aluminum boat. Upgraded from a 1976 Evinrude 25hp 2 stroke. Looking forward to getting it. Great channel. Looking forward to watching more videos while on lock down. 😂
Might get the same engine for my skiff. What does she push her at? Also, how is the fuel injection vs a carb motor. I like the honda a lot but it has a carburator. Thanks !
We don't have an exact mile per hour of it but she sure rips according to the customer...he loves it! As far as FI vs Carb, fuel injection is the way to go...hands down!
Rated for 20hp two stroke, but that 4 stroke is same weight. Cool unboxing vid. We have zuke dealer in the entire state vs dozen merc/yam don't want a two hour drive to the only dealer here was my reason for mer and yam other wise this was in my list. It came with mount bolts damm
@@garylaubscher4487 The angle of the video shot might be throwing ya. The customer loves it and has been raving about it. We can get you in touch with him if you'd like.
I bought a new 3.5m v-nosed punt with a 15 Mercury (Tohatsu). The dealer fitted a wooden block about 1/2 inch thick to set the height. I tried it once without the block & had sheets of water spraying back over the transom. Amazing 😂
@@TeamMarineService How many hours after initial break-in does the lower unit require an oil change, as well as the motor oil after the same break-in period? Thanks, FK
Finally a well done unboxing video! Great Job!
Thanks guys!

Sure you don’t use the flush kit, he is using ears, just look again..
I bought the 2022 DF9.9 with electric start. So far couldn't be happier.
Still happy??
I bought a 25 Suzuki 7 years ago. Awesome motor
I have my $3000 motor on a $400 14" lowe, I hope it doesn't sink.
I never thought to use the handle when I piked it up out of the crate
Awesome unboxing from experts who know Suzuki Outboards!!!
Thanks Jeff!
Sick. Makes me stoked to get my 25hp suzuki. Going to going on a gregor 15 footer.
Hey I have 15 foot gregor and was going to repower with the 25. How did yours workout?

I have one! Great motor! Came with a 6 gallon tank. I buy gas 3 times per year

Great video. I have the DF15A. Where can I can instructions on how to change the oil filter?
We are sure your local dealer could get that for ya.

Battery fully charged?

Thanks for the complements Glenn! We'd say that the Suzuki 9.9 is just as good as the Yamaha. Both solid!

That is definitely an upgrade! Awesome!!!
I am thinking to buy some from 15hp and I don't know which engine is better Suzuki or Honda!?
In our opinion Suzuki but Honda does make a solid motor
Still waiting for that 50hp video …..
Thank you for the information. One question, how do you lay it down if you want to carry it in the trunk of your car?

Would you recommend the Suzuki 20hp or a Mercury 20hp motor?
Great video! I having a hard time choosing between a 2021 DF20ATHL3 and a 2021 Mercury 1A20411LK. Can you give me some advice please thanks

I it recommended to ( not) use synthetic oil in these ? What is your preference?
thanks for the video, i just picked up this motor today
Didn't see a telltale stream of cooling water coming out when it was running.....even with a thermostat there should be a dribble.
Look closely!
Very Nice looking motor you have there.
👍🏻😎👍🏻
I would have liked to have seen a test run but I guess maybe next time??
Maybe we could have the customer shoot a vid!
Maybe see how slow it will troll too?
Just got my 25 delivery a few days ago going on a 15x42 aluminum southfork any tips?
Let her eat!!! 👍
How's the southfork doing? I've had my eye on them lately, but not a ton online. Go with short or tall sided?
Cool video bro
do you guys think the 20hp needs electric start ever ?
I want that motor right there, the 20. Is it for sale? If so I'll drive over. I live in Marquette, in the U.P.
I almost bought this motor until I saw where the oil filter was. Went with the Yamaha instead.
Interesting decision to not buy! 👍🏻
Team Marine Service I was very close to buying the Zuki - but the Yamaha guy made a great offer as well. It’s been a very good outboard.
Same motor came with yellow liquid in fuel filter. What is it?
All Suzuki's come with that, it's their "break in" gas.
Good installation video.
I have a 14 foot aluminium boat. what size motor should I buy for it ??
The biggest motor that it's rated for!
@@TeamMarineService well that is why I am inquiring as to what size would you recommend!!
@@GSEGATTI7 It is boat specific, should have a tag some where on it to specify what it is rated for
how do i change the brain in a Suzuki 2016 four stroke 15hp Lean burn engine?
See your local dealer would be our best response!
Okey
Boat motor oil different from car?
I would always recommend using factory oil on motors with warranty just for warranty reasons
@@TeamMarineService thanx for ur reply... suppose to get my suzuki 20hp tomorrow woo hoo. Guess ill drop by local marina and pick up some oil
Nice my friend 👊🏽
Thanks!
Were can I order one ?

Good how much a 40hp and 30hp long leg 4tienpos suziki costs. Or give me some phone to hold thanks used 2018 thank you
How much do one of these cost ?
What is propeller pitch on this?
VERY NICE 💚😎👍
Thanks Scott
His attitude is like yeah piece of cake this $h!T Hahhaha i like it.
🤣🤣
It's rated for a 150 lb 20... Not a 220 lb 20... LOL But that's the way you want one to start for sure...!
Hey let's not fat shame these new 4 strokes! Hahaha
@@TeamMarineService But another 50-75# is still another 50-75#...!
That 20hp isn't any heavier than the old 2-smokers.

2 or 4 stroke? Cost ?
4 stroke, there's dip stick lol 2 stroke you top up.
Your cavitation plate is way way to low on that boat it wont work on that boat, you need a short shaft engine. Suprised nobody else commented on that.
Nobody has commented that because it is a 15" short shaft DF 20 AS2! 👍
@@TeamMarineService Well then you need to sort out the height as its wrong man.Look how much lower that plate is to your bottom, totally wrong.
