i saw an article from disney world abt the restrictions they’ll be enforcing and all the comments were ppl complaining that they refuse to wear a mask in the florida heat um.. okay don’t come then!!
I know your gonna hate me for this but I honestly hope they don’t , people will think it’s cool not wear a mask , disobey the rules because they think it’s cool etc .. and this would turn into a huge problem cuz of people so.. to summarize hopefully people understand this is needed in order to function properly! Or things will continue going downhill! ,

I really do hate to be a cynic but those measures just seem like they are trying to look like they’re doing something. I don’t see how those spacings in the line are even going to do anything help to prevent the spread of the virus.
Tamara Fletcher I think we might not be saying the same thing. It seems like you were saying that it’s fake and we don’t need any of these measures. I’m saying the exact opposite. There are not enough measures in place. The measures they have in place are not going to protect people from spreading the virus.

Most people that are fans of the park would do what they can to be respectful and fully understand the new procedures in place, but with these new guidelines many don't want to attend until they are able to have a full uninterrupted experience like before. You will certainly have some people that would not want to follow it because some think they are giving up their "freedom" to wear a mask, but I assume those types of people would be turned away before even entering. The vast majority of people would certainly respect the new procedures, but you only hear about the negative people because they tend to be the loudest.

Love the polite little signs on the tables lol. WDW is going to have to remove any extra tables in order to prevent people from sitting there, because lord knows it's already an eating area wasteland. People wouldn't care about a sign.
As someone who formerly worked WDW Quick Service Food and Beverage, I can confirm that I have seen families get into physical altercations fighting over tables. Like, a dad punched another dad in the face. We sometimes had to resort to roping off seating areas and assigning tables to families. People would still try to bypass that system...
Question: what is going on with masks and certain rides that are fast or get you wet? Would the masks fly or or get compromised? Are there stations to replace your masks?
Yeah, your mask can come loose, like on the Tron ride. I was there on opening day and wondered the same thing. They have special bins all around for mask disposal.

Beautiful & touching video! I work in the "service industry" in Houston, TX. 25 yrs. in a restaurant & 8 for MLB. I'm affected by how I "now" service & interact with MY guests. We as humans have to be like bamboo & flex (bend in the wind) or we we will BREAK! Nothing is forever as change is CONSTANT! We will eventually be able to physically hug each other. You can still do it with your voice, eyes, and actions. Remember the 1st films were silent. It is still on my list to visit this & other Disney parks aboard.
Social distancing on rides don't make sense to me though, even if there's an empty row between you and the next person in front since the ride is going fast if he/she sneezes you'd have caught the air droplets
Cancelled my trip to Disney World this week. Don’t want to be spending that kind of money only to not have the full Disney experience. I’ll have to wait a couple of years I guess. 😕

Since I have my final school year, my mother and I were planning to go at disneyland for my graduation, but when the breaking news talk about Disney and the others parks are closed during coronavirus, I was sad, but I still hope someone will reopen again

It looks so civilised and calm, a little eerie but it’s good to see at least one park reopened and bouncing back. So many cast members there. I like how they pick out your food for you, defo helps against people picking up and putting back. I heard you’re not really supposed to touch the merch if you aren’t going to buy it, is that true? Also did guests have to wear gloves on any of the rides? I’m booked to go to WDW in December and am sceptical as to whether it will go ahead or not. I want it to but it all depends on the obvious travel bans but also how WDW implement health and safety measures. Do you wear masks when you go to the park’s? If not how do you feel about having to wear a mask all day? I’m a little against it because I suffer with hiccups a lot due to either not breathing properly or excess air so it worries me when I think about wearing a mask and breathing. For the Shanghai park, you have to wear masks all day except for meals. It's true that if you have no intention of buying merch, you're not supposed to touch it. No gloves on the rides but they do leave spaces between groups. I hope this helps :)
Here in Hong Kong everyone has been wearing masks all day, every day for 5 months. You get used to it, they're not that uncomfortable and it's really helped everyone here.

I've been through a lot since the pandemic started (my college graduation and my Disney College Program cancelled) and I really need that comfort of a hug from my favorite fella, Mickey. That's how I always start every visit to the Magic Kingdom, and it would heartbreaking to know that when I need his hugs the most, I would be told I couldn't do that. I know this isn't a guarantee for domestic Disney Parks yet, but realistically, I imagine that this will be the case. I'm not sure that a Disney park without character hugs, extravagant parades, and elaborate shows would feel very much like Disney.

For the comments saying that Americans won't handle these type of guidelines, you're 100% correct. Disney Springs in Florida just recently opened with these guidelines, not only did a majority of people not follow them but they also dubbed the guidelines "communist" and complained about it in the forum pertaining Disney Springs. There's people with health conditions that require them wearing a mask anywhere and they were infuriated when they saw many people not doing their part. Yeah as an American myself who loves Disney, I'm beyond infuriated but not surprised.

TDR Explorer I am an annual pass holder for WDW. I am hoping this works and Florida is opening soon. Hotels ARE accepting reservation on Disney property for dates after July 1. No official word on Hong Kong opening yet, but we are now down to no local cases and only one or two imported cases a day here, so I'm hoping it won't be too long. They have been struggling since the protests so they really need the visitors!
So let me get this straight... guests can’t stand close together but if you’re a Disney princess some way somehow you can crowd the balcony on the castle?! Hello?! They need to practice social distancing too lol
I'm pretty sure they have health and safety protocols, for them. Definitely, might be safer for them to not be near crowds, but it sucks that they aren't wearing a facemask.
As a California pass holder, I see a couple of obvious problems. The stand/ don't stand signage is inconsistent. Do you stand on a sign or do you not? People will be confused. Disneyland is much more compact than the other parks, so they will have to severely limit park capacity. They will also have to strictly enforce things like masks and distancing because the "freedom" crowd will defy them just to make a point. My first visit to Disneyland was in 1955, and I really miss it.

Disney Springs in Florida just recently opened with these guidelines, not only did a majority of people not follow them but they also dubbed the guidelines "communist" and complained about it in the forum pertaining Disney Springs. There's people with health conditions that require them wearing a mask anywhere and they were infuriated when they saw many people not doing their part. Yeah as an American myself who loves Disney, I'm beyond infuriated but not surprised.
Thanks for all your coverage. All these rules make sense, however I am surprised by the short parade route (which concentrates guests into a smaller area). It's good to see face characters, I thought they might just have costumed ones for the time being.
I wasn't sure what to expect with the parade. It looks like they need to change how that's done.

Curious about whether the rides that usually have a preshow like haunted mansion where you all crowd into a room (not sure if any of the Shanghai rides even have these) would still be able to have those preshows? I guess they could space you out? It’s so unnatural to see a Disney park with that few people in it! Especially one of the Asia ones!?

I live in Japan which is a 2.5 hour flight from Shanghai. I don't have plans for Hong Kong anytime soon due to the travel bans.
TDR Explorer I am an annual pass holder for WDW. I am hoping this works and Florida is opening soon. Hotels ARE accepting reservation on Disney property for dates after July 1. No official word on Hong Kong opening yet, but we are now down to no local cases and only one or two imported cases a day here, so I'm hoping it won't be too long. They have been struggling since the protests so they really need the visitors!

I'm pretty sure they have health and safety protocols, for them. Definitely, might be safer for them to not be near crowds, but it sucks that they aren't wearing a facemask.

As a California pass holder, I see a couple of obvious problems. The stand/ don't stand signage is inconsistent. Do you stand on a sign or do you not? People will be confused. Disneyland is much more compact than the other parks, so they will have to severely limit park capacity. They will also have to strictly enforce things like masks and distancing because the "freedom" crowd will defy them just to make a point. My first visit to Disneyland was in 1955, and I really miss it.
Wonderland needs to do this
