    Some Americans don’t want to wear masks to Costco for half an hour to buy groceries, I don’t know how they are going to pull through an entire day in Florida heat at Magic Kingdom.

      America isn’t the only hot and humid place in the world. Our American culture has become selfish and ignorant. Asian cultures have been wearing masks for years due to hazardous air pollution, dust particles in the air, disease and simply for their protection. Shanghai, Bangkok, Tokyo, Manila, Beijing, Taipei, HongKong and most other cities masks have always been a common sight. If you can’t wear a mask. Stay at home or get a doctor’s note.

    I REALLY think the single best thing all of Disney as a whole can do is limit the amount of people in PERIOD! If it’s not shoulder to shoulder while passing by in different directions and social distance markers in the queues that solves the problems with the parade and character events at the castle. If they jam pack the park there is no social distancing at all just like at the grocery stores....6 feet apart is out the window. They need to keep the numbers down at all costs.

      Yeah, that's just how it is. I don't think anywhere is going to be perfect. There will always be people who won't follow and there are only so much CMs can do. Also, Shanghai has been dealing with this a lot longer than most other countries so it feels like people are a bit more relaxed with these things.

      @@tdrexplorerI'm not so sure how relaxed the people are here. Shenzhen isn't relaxed. Everyone is still wearing masks. I think it's just a Disney thing. You get in the park and fears of a coronavirus just melt away. =)

      The thing is, if it’s like this in Shanghai, think how bad it will be in America with people disobeying the rules. I’ve made my peace with the fact I won’t be returning to Disney for a very very long time.

    • @tropibanana4662
      @tropibanana4662 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I don't really blame people for removing their masks because wearing it for a long time while walking around a park would get stuffy and naturally they'd want to remove them for a bit. Also, a lot of people go to the parks to eat & drink, which is hard to do with a mask on. So I'm not surprised at all that not everyone is keeping them on.
      With everything slowly opening up, individually we'll just have to weigh in if it's worth the risk. To some people it is, to others it's not.

    I was quite happy with what I saw last week, but less so this time. I don't think there is much else Disney or cast members can do, but there were so many examples of people not following social distancing (7:02, 8:22, 9:20 etc) and people not wearing masks in this video. For me the risk outweighs my desire to go to parks like this. Thanks for your amazing coverage.

    • @tdrexplorer
      @tdrexplorer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for watching, Marcus. As you said, there's not much else Cast Members can do. It's not a perfect system but at least it's something. I don't think anything the Parks do will be perfect. Just have to minimize the risk as much as they can (short of simply staying closed).

      This just settled it for me. I will not be going to Disney anytime soon. They just really can’t control the crowds, it’s still too many people, and the distancing efforts are just an illusion of safety rather than actual safety if people are walking around with faces uncovered and all bunched up together. I wouldn’t even have fun. I don’t want to be standing in line wondering if my next coaster ride is going to be my last coaster ride or if someone will cough on me. Plus Disney is supposed to be an escape from reality. All those masks just serve to remind me of reality. The absolute last thing I want a Disney park to do for me.

    • @Nimeariel
      @Nimeariel 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@professormuffins4973 They don't even do this with vaping/smoking in the park or "inappropriate" clothing, so why start now? Both things are "banned" in the parks here in the US and yet, people still do them regularly and many CMs don't even bat an eye or do anything about it except give them a warning or make them stop. But then people will just go back to it once out of view. It's going to be hard to kick people out once they're in the park for not wearing a mask, even if they have people everywhere watching for it. You came to the park wearing a mask, so you definitely have one with you so, most people who wouldn't want to wear it will just wear it in view of CMs and then remove it after. CMs are too "nice" for that. That's also why Disney has issued basically an "enter at your own risk" liability statement to cover their own tails if people see other people walking around without a mask and yet CMs don't say anything, or even if they DO say something and the people don't get kicked out.

    • @smallartist4945

      Nimeariel you kidding me clappers are banned at Disney I saw a CM destroy someone for bringing that in. They took all of them from a party of like 20. thank you for creating this video! as someone who’s disneymoon (Disneyland in Anaheim, CA) was affected due to the pandemic, I am one of the many who is patiently waiting for when it’s safe to return to the park. however I’m disappointed to see a number of people not complying with social distancing rules or wearing a face mask. it’s like being back in elementary school when it was time for recess - the sooner we all follow instructions, the sooner we can all go out and play.

      This is not going to work in the American parks. Especially not WDW. Social distancing = VIP front of the line access for every ride! Before COVID19, if there were any gaps in a line, it would be filled by a certain group in particular, and if you try to block them, they will find a way to squeeze by, even if it means climbing over the railings, or touching you.

    The pirates ride is during the day always super busy so these are normal waiting times. The tip for this park is to go in pirates in the end off the evening then there is no wait at all and you can repeat it a few times just before closing. And it is a must maybe my favorite attraction in the world!. Offcourse you can always buy a fast pass for it in the day time. Yes I said buy. Because you can buy it in this park 😍

I know they are really trying to be safe, and I get that, but this just is not what I consider a true Disney experience. If this is a glimpse of what the future is for the Anaheim park, then I can safely assume that my last visit really was my last visit, and from here on out I'll be content with movies, merchandise, and photos from past visits. That time would have come for me eventually anyways.

    Thank you for the video. I had a trip planned for the fall, but will definitely be canceling. If people there aren't following the rules there, in the US there's absolutely no way they will. Thousands of people have already stated that they are going to refuse to wear a mask at Disney World, or hold a water bottle all day, so they are "sipping" a drink and not wear a mask. You are right, there is not much the cast members can do, and Disney cares too much about money rather than throw people out for not following the rules. Whether you agree with masks or not, if it states masks are required here, wear one or leave! People are so childish. A guy held up anyone from entering Costco for over 20 mins the other day fighting the staff over not wearing a mask. Who doesn't know you have to wear a mask at Costco? If you are not willing to comply go somewhere else. I could've been done shopping by the time I was finally able to enter, and the guy still ultimately was not permitted to shop there. Businesses can make their own policies and refuse service to anyone who doesn't follow them, bottom line.

    I thought they were only opening 20 to 30% so maybe just locals. That's what they are planning to do here in Orlando. Locals first then out of state. I haven't heard when the rest of Disney will open. I want it to be soon because my family and I have annual passes.

    It’s definitely a lot more people compared to the time my family and I visited SHD. We weren’t able to get tickets of the first two days, but we were able to get tickets for 13 and 14. And the wait time was so much shorter, especially with rides like Tron, which are less kids friendly. I got to ride it 5 times because there were barely any waiting time. And it’s pretty much the same for the other rides( but rides like Peter Pan and Pooh was still as popular as ever). Ah, although I really wish this pandemic would end sooner but I’ll be lying if I say I won’t miss a Disneyland like this.

Please we are due to visit Florida end of September, unsure if it will happen yet who knows just keep hoping. Anyway, after watching this I was very disappointed and angry at how many didn't wear they mask correctly, there were a few appeared not even to have one. Then the que for think it was pirates ride all round the corner, no social distancing. People having to be told to remain in their "square". I would not feel safe at all in that environment with so many people taking no notice. Hope they enforce it more for everybody's enjoyment and safety.

      Disneyland likely won’t open for a long time now :(. California is super strict on their guidelines and “phases” for reopening, and theme parks are not permitted to open until the very last phase. If I were to guess, it’s going to open sometime in the fall or winter. My hope is for it to be opened by October, because I love going when all the Halloween decorations are up!

    I'm a bit worried, with the increased crowds and the parades, it's going to be extremely difficult to do social distancing. If cast members have to tell guests to stay in the boxes still, that's already not a good sign!

    it looks OK for now but, the parade part is confusing for people and shanghai Disneyland should have meet and greet characters instead of staying away from the guests. That's not fair some kids who don't know them yet will want to meet them in person not from rooftops.

    From what I could tell - it looks like the social distancing markers in ride queues are pointless. They’re allowing more guests into the park than what the socially distant queues can handle - resulting in people lining up very closely together at the end of the line, just to be socially distanced once they get closer to the attraction entrance. Disney either needs to remove the markers, cut the line off immediately once the socially distant markers fill up, or reduce capacity in the park. Otherwise it’s just a waste...
