👍✅ Hope you taking a break from youtube and that all is well. I'm sure that I speak for lots and lots of people that have enjoyed your content, hard work and professionalism for years as I have.
No kidding bird attack!!! And the same color as the sky!!!!! At least you had time to keep it down and then rotate to avoid them! Glad all went well! Good job!!!!
Oh man I missed your vlogs. Your channel has me up-to-date with ATC communications. I actually understand what they are saying ! I hope u can upload every couple of months if at all possible 👍🏻
Good to see Mike on board! Messy weather for sure .. did look rather like a funnel cloud around 6.11... again about 10.40 - hmmm - hard to label as an artifact. At least looked good for VFR landing. Phew, those birds were close!!! Pretty messy too getting back into Spirit - nice to see runway in sight! All best Jim. :).
Used fly with a friend in his Cherokee 6 out of Hickory as his safety pilot as he was shooting approaches to keep his ticket current. We've been in 3 near midairs, all shooting practice approaches into Statesville!!! Once I grabbed the yoke to take control to avoid a Cesna which took off directly towards us even though we were making calls on unicom!! Once at night which scared both of us half to death as we could see both pilot & passenger eyeballs as we passed within 20' just under their nose, (they were as surprised as we were!!!). This was back in the late 90's/early 00's so I don't know if it's as busy now as I haven't flown PIC in 15 years due to a failed back surgery :-( Safe travels my friend and be extra careful around Statesville :-) I live about 45 minutes north of there in Lenoir and used to fly out of KMRN, great area to enjoy aviation!!!
Thank you so much for letting us being part of your daily business! And very well cut to the essentials! Biggest respect for trying to avoid that birds :) Greetings from a big fan out of northern Germany (Hamburg :D)
Sure wish I knew you were coming into Statesville. I live just down the road and it would have been my pleasure to have bought you and Mike lunch. Maybe next time.
Always great to fly with you guys, you're so coordinated together. Also I thought I saw a few frames of a funnel cloud. Always fun and knowledgeable. Thank you both.
This was last February. One of his last flights. I had originally decided not to make this video due to video and audio problems. When I went back looking for video I decided that I needed to make this one.
Those flying rats brought back bad memories. The insurance company never wants to see another seagull. One leading edge, an inlet cowling and a rebuild on a CF-34 that had less than 500 hours on it prior to bird ingestion.
Hi Captain. It’s been a while since you posted one of your videos I hope all is well health wise and professionally. Hope to see you soon.
Was about to say the same thing. Haven’t seen him pop up in awhile. Hope to see him back soon!
Hey captain, hope you and the family are well. You’ve not posted in a longgggg time!
The female pilot on the radio was awesome - Her extensive read back was perfect - I could never do that 👍
I've always found it helpful to say to the flying pilot on short final; "This looks like its gonna be real smooth".
👍✅ Hope you taking a break from youtube and that all is well. I'm sure that I speak for lots and lots of people that have enjoyed your content, hard work and professionalism for years as I have.
It’s always great to see you both in the cockpit.. the best crew ever.
It's really nice to see that nice harmony of a teamwork there :))
No kidding bird attack!!! And the same color as the sky!!!!! At least you had time to keep it down and then rotate to avoid them! Glad all went well! Good job!!!!
Hoping all is well with you and yours. Haven't seen any posting for a while and simply wanted to check in with you.
I'm so glad Mike is back. Love that voice.
It's always a joy to ride along with you and Mike. Thanks for bringing us along with you and I'll see you in the next one.
Hope you are well! Really miss your videos, please make more!
My pucker factor was at a 10 when I saw those birds. You guys were as cool as cool can be!
Mike and the Captain....woot, woot! So glad to see you both. Those birds were something else...and you guys were so cool handling them.
Hey Mike. Good to see you bud.
Wao, son tight with almost a birdstrike at the most critical moment (rotation) Happy you’re fine!!!
Oh man I missed your vlogs. Your channel has me up-to-date with ATC communications. I actually understand what they are saying ! I hope u can upload every couple of months if at all possible 👍🏻
That KSUS tower controller on the way back in is one of my favorite controllers….always positive and energetic!
Always enjoy these! My son and his family live in Statesville.
Thanks

Your videos are awesome and you must have nerves of steel.
Great job! That would get the heart beating!
Love these videos from my home town. Great to see some STL action
Another nice one sir, you guys earned your money this trip. Those birds would indeed have done some damage, glad ya missed them.

Hi Brian. That's too close for comfort. Always gotta be watching for that kind of thing at uncontrolled fields. Good thing you were. Be safe
Where did you go my friend? Haven’t seen any new videos from you lately. I hope all is well with you!
A very good cockpit interaction as usual…good to see you were able to avoid those birds…
Thank you so much for letting us being part of your daily business!
And very well cut to the essentials!
Biggest respect for trying to avoid that birds :)

Mike!
Hi Captian hope eveything is ok are you still flying?
Thanks for video. Pretty soupy weather to fly in. Hope you find another pilot soon!
Gone thru Statesville many times over the years on the way to either Myrtle or FLA. Nice little town.
Thanks there Capt. Always enjoy your videos.
On the first landing, looked like a tornado off to their left.
Sure wish I knew you were coming into Statesville. I live just down the road and it would have been my pleasure to have bought you and Mike lunch. Maybe next time.
Yeah, heard Hickory. Control Atlanta airspace.
Really enjoy watching your execution of crm
That read back you guys do is amazing. I would probably screw it up.
Always great to fly with you guys, you're so coordinated together. Also I thought I saw a few frames of a funnel cloud.
Always fun and knowledgeable. Thank you both.
Still there? It’s been awful quiet.
Nice flight guys.
@baronpilot was just in Statesville in a recent video, too.
Nice to see mike still flying I thought he retired.
WHEW! Great flight you two! Excellent, professional job there!
Thanks
BTW, your video quality is better than ever
Excellent vid Captain.
I would have liked to see a shot or two of the race shop.
Where are you Captain?
I needed this! Great great great!
Didn't Mike retire? Good to see him back though.
This was last February. One of his last flights. I had originally decided not to make this video due to video and audio problems. When I went back looking for video I decided that I needed to make this one.
That was great guys. Thanks for sharing.
Good Evening Captain....we're you and the gang out visiting the Petty raceshop by chance??
Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for posting!
We miss you buddy! I hope all is well :)
…a morning flight with theCaptain…. Best way to start the day! Mike’s voice on the frequency ….
Flying the Wallace family? Just a guess because of their STL and NASCAR connections.
Capo!! 🙋♂️📸👀👌🖐🏼✈✈✈✈🧿👏
Was that Statesville, NC (STA) ? Home, Sweet home.
Awesome job
6:13 Is that a funnel cloud? Just spotted another at 10:28 Can you confirm?
It’s a small vertical inclusion on the window.
@@brewsnoop lolol yeah after watching again I see it is just a dirty window. Had me fooled till you replied. Thanks for the clear up. :)
cool !!!
STATEVILLE NC THTS WERE I STAY👌🏽
The ❤️ of Nascar country! ⚠️ Kamikaze Seagulls ⚠️👀! Great flight management is less optimal weather conditions! Those controllers had me ROFL 🤣!
BIG BIRDS!!!!
Did you stop making videos?
The microphone touching the pilot mouth all the time I just wonder if each pilot can have the own microphone
Next time you come into Statesville or surrounding areas, look me up I'd be honored to buy you a cup of coffee
Those flying rats brought back bad memories. The insurance company never wants to see another seagull.
One leading edge, an inlet cowling and a rebuild on a CF-34 that had less than 500 hours on it prior to bird ingestion.
They can do a lot of damage. These guys caught us by surprise.
That was close
I want to fly with you anytime Captain
I noticed lots of turns on this trip..
Where are you? Did you go to work for South West and can't film anymore ?
Fantastic video!!!
Nice video. Glad you were able to make it into Spirit.
What editing software do you use?
Thanks Michael. I use PowerDirector
Hey you alright?
Thanks buddy appreciate it
Would it have been proper to do a pilot report to tower when you encountered birds?
Yes. But, the Statesville airport doesn't have a tower.
i always like your music
birds over the runway. Looks like simulator training . Scary
If rejected takeoff would you have had enough runway to stop ?
I'm gonna guess that had you pulled up into those birds that would have been the end of that airplane.
At best, It would have been a mess.
So Long.!
Did you retire?
Why did you stop posting videos?
Are you retired now?
Where have you been???
This is ether old or Mike is back.
is this an old video?
