I tend to get rid of any books which I didn't absolutely adore, or that aren't in a series I'm going to continue reading, so it's interesting to watch this video and see a completely different approach to book ownership. Also, if I didn't like a book, no matter how nice the cover was, I would be furious to see it sitting on my shelves!!
Part of me wishes I was like this, but I have so many complicated feelings about books haha! And because I make videos and recommendations I like to be able to browse through them to get inspiration. But I do need to be a bit harsher sometimes on what I keep!💚
@@LydLoves I can see that making videos would complicate things. I do sometimes get rid of books and then regret it, so I'm not sure I've got the balance right.
I have just had a book clear out (which happens every 3-4 years) and I'm pretty ruthless; a couple of big shopping bags full! Starting is the hardest part, but once I get going, I feel liberated. My books either go to local charities to sell, the book exchange at the local university and friends who have similar tastes.
your videos are an instant watch for me now! also regarding proofs, i don't think you're *meant* to sell them as they're not a final copy but you can recyle them if you detach the pages from the spine & i have seen some in free little libraries!
I loooveee your book collection, it's so gorgeous! I'm glad to finally hear someone say they didn't love The Vanishing Half 😅 I thought that book was really mediocre. Really don't get the hype around it!
Yes you can sell/gift the Sealwoman’s Gift, I feel the same about it. I wonder if your other Game of Thrones books are still here somewhere? I read the Underground Railway, unsatisfying. Well done for such a thorough unhaul. Can’t wait to see the reorganisation video! 💕
@@LydLoves Ah I see. I count if their parents are from there as long as it's set there as well. I'll let you know if I come across another pick for Bosnia!
@@LydLoves I've just looked her up, and her mum is Bosnian (and she spent summers in Sarajevo) if that helps. I suspect this is going to be one of the countries where I feel like I have to read more than one book to meet my complex and ever changing criteria!
Keep the books downstairs that you would like to lend to people, you are more likely to see them there and remember to lend them or when you have people over they might see one and mention they’ve been wanting to read it

We have a ton of the ARC in the little free libraries here in Austin, Texas.,
You’re so bold with your unhoarding, I could never give them sway
Hahaha I was so proud of myself!!

I think I’ll have to do little and often because I’m soo bad at being ruthless haha! But I admire your ability to do it!💚
I would love a TBR video! I'm so nosey as to why people have the books they do hehe
In that case, TBR video coming up!🥰

This is so sweet thank you!!💚 and thank you for letting me know! Maybe I’ll give this one away to be safe, if anyone would like it!

Yay thank you!! & I’m so glad you agree!!
I read Black Butterflies Priscilla Morris for Bosnia and loved it
I was going to say the exact same thing, absolutely loved that book
@@michellejoanna670 this is going to be my Bosnian choice.
I read this and absolutely loved it! But the author is British! So sadly doesn’t count for my rules, even though I adored this book💚

I’m so glad you agree!! long chapters are the bane of my existenceeee
