- Game 7 in the 10 games of blood and tears! Have you been wondering why the series is titled such? The background tension builds...

The only surviving artistic representation of Huang Longshi or Xu Xingyou is a stone statue of Huang Longshi you can find here: senseis.xmp.ne.... So, the art that I have is created by AI! Basically, it is an extremely inaccurate portrayal of them, do not trust that they look like that.
Much thanks to my patreon supporter for requesting this awesome game :D

The goban is from the game Just Go on steam, which has a nice 3d animation from Unity. I use a couple of effects from GLAT. The overlay is just a bunch of stuff I cobbled together myself, a Telegraph original! 😀

I don't recall if you're going over these games in order, but it would be nice have at least an overlay with the score at the time the game is played.
Highly recommend the even games between Huang Longshi and Zhou Donghou too... Personally find their quality to be even higher
This whole series is terrific! Excited for game 8!

What grade was xu xingyou?
Ershou means taking a two stone handicap from the strongest player in China at the time (the Guoshou). Both would be 9p if that rating convention had been used back then.
@@Funaru I think Xu Xingyou would probably not be 9p, he would struggle to become professional just off his fighting skill these days
@@telegraphgo Yeah, of course not today but back then he was one of the very top players, wasn't he? It's pretty astonishing to me that many people think that Longshi's reading skills would still make him one of the strongest players if not the strongest today.
@@Funaru Xu Xingyou was more like a student 1-5p at the time in modern equivalence. Huang Longshi would easily be pro if he time travelled to today but I can't really say he's a good enough player to be in the top 50. If he had modern learning materials it might be a different story.
@@telegraphgo I guess that makes sense as no 9p would give another 9p two stones.
