- Sober Sundays is@thecastellows only 'waltz', a song in 3/4 time. Right? Is that why it feels so tender?
I have long had "a thing" for 3/4 songs. You? Usually its a ballad I instantly like and then I figure "Hey that is another 3/4 song you've fallen for, Rob". I like the alternative ones (REM's Swan Swan Hummingbird), the poppy ones (Avril Lavigne's I'm With You), the classics (The Beatles' You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Norwegian Wood, Baby's in Black, She's Leaving Home), and the traditional Celtic ones (Wild Mountain Thyme ... oh!, or the beginning the Sprit Of The West's Home For A Rest (you Canucks know that one that turns into a real BANGER!!!)).
Some day the ladies and gents could do an album of sad songs and waltzes right?

@@peterolson1134 agreed.. these are just cell phone videos on my fan channel, and not any pro sound mix from the board 😊 so the quality varies .. some people think otherwise and have higher expectations. There are a lot of pro produced recordings on the band's channel .. the videos here hopefully capture the energy of the live shows, and share some unreleased gems and covers you may not hear or see somewhere else 🤠❤️

I STILL DON'T CARE FOR THAT SONG. I DON'T LIKE THE LYRICS OR THE THOUGHT BEHIND THE SONG. THEY MAKE IT SEEM LIKE EVERYWHERE DOWN SOUTH HAS BEEN PLAGUED WITH ALCOHOLIC S . (LIKE ITS THE NORM. ). LIKE ITS JUST THE WAY THAT IT IS. REAL ALCOHOLICS DON'T TAKE ANY DAYS OFF !!! LIKE THE GAL IS SAYING TO HER SIGNIFICANT OTHER I'LL WATCH YOU DRINK ANOTHER WEEK AWAY, AND THEN WE'LL HIT CHURCH ON SUNDAY??? REAL DRUNKS BASICALLY DON'T GO TO CHURCH . @Jim-bt9xd Thanks Jim. I agree that drinking can be a problem and ask myself all the time "Who does anything better because they were drinking?"/ "Why is it celebrated in songs?". My boys (young men) don't drink so I don't worry about them. But one son has had anxiety and depression issues for years and I spoke the chorus lyrics in this song to him just a couple weeks ago when he admitted that he needed more help but was scared to tell us - we were on our way to the hospital in a crisis/ panic attack. The song lyrics I spoke to him "I'll stay right here, I'll never go away, I'll steady your hands even when they shake. Look in my eyes without any shame and you won't have to ask if I'll stay.." made us both cry. I was holding his hand at the time and meant every word. It's a beautiful meaningful song to me, even more so now. And good news we're getting help. I've experienced a violent drunk in the house growing up too .. but that person was the only one who went to all my little league hockey and baseball games - it's complicated and we want to find foregiveness. Like you I hope this song helps someone too. And I hope the ladies stay true to their values in their songs .. and I'm sure they will. To me this song is more about love and forgiveness, not celebrating drinking. BTW There is a recent print interview where Ellie says people can misinterpret their lyrics. Hopefully we can all interpret some positive messages from this one and others 🤠❤️ ~ Rob
The sound quality sucks, these bar shows are all you girls are ever gonna do if you can’t quit relying on this kinda stuff as promotion. They are fun and great for those who can attend, but they don’t translate to video well at all. It would be way better for you all to stay home and make videos that are high quality, then fill large arenas and then entertain way more people with your great message and wonderful talents, an alternative to the overproduced sex shows many don’t like anymore .
Hi, to help manage expectations FYI these are just my fan cell phone videos :) Not band promotion material at all. The band's official channel does have high quality videos from acoustic sessions to check out (great sound), and several produced videos too - check those out if it is more your thing :)
