Ellie's Spotify favourites list shows some of the diverse influences (The Cars, Smashing Pumpkins) and she has said in an interview it would be nice to open for Foo Fighters. She has also played a bit of Zep (Going To California) on Instagram too. Maybe that is why I connect to the band, me being a classic rock guy who has not been into country music (or does Talking Heads' Creatures of Love th-cam.com/video/2BMY7gG47fI/w-d-xo.html count? Or Elvis Costello's Good Year for the Roses th-cam.com/video/Nyppu4z8h70/w-d-xo.html .. aka my Alternative Country cross-overs count?).
Of course The Boss is an influence too (Born To Run as Lily's laptop desktop image) and they do some sweet acoustic covers of @brucespringsteen (see playlist). And they make @TheAnimalsOfficial House of the Rising Sun (with Justin's fiddle) their own. @googoodolls Iris is a good fit with Justin on mandolin - he is so talented! Close to the original arrangement I would say.
Ellie mentions the guitar tuning here for Iris being weird and it is - it is BDDDDD !!!

      Hi Fredrik, this is of course the backing band. I do think they deserve a lot of credit for the band's success, hence this modest recognition. IMHO they are all very talented, hard-working and super nice gents - I've chatted with them all ... and even some of their parents :) ... "just someone who wants to steal some fame" ?? ... that is very far from the truth.

    My favorite band/musicians, hands down. They had me at “You looked so good, you cut your hair; just as it was in January.” That’s purely original poetry. “Where once there was a bolder man, you cower now in Comic Sans?” I mean, c’mon! And the music itself? Their melodies, harmonies, rhythms, and textures? And Katie’s voice? Seriously, all of it-just pure gold. 💛 I guess that’s why I (attempt to) cover them so much. 🙂

K8e's voice DOES connect - she sings and it feels like you are having a dialogue, feeling what she is feeling 😊
