You don’t need to beat all bosses to unlock 2 strip mode. I’m able to unlock it after defeating Rumor Honeybottoms and Rugged Ridge. Though I had A+ and P ranks all the way through at that point.
The music tracks have wrong info too. You unlock the minimalist track by talking to both music guys back and forth. Eventually, the record player will give you the minimalist track. The other music guy will swap the music back to default. It has nothing to do with expert difficulty.
Also, the axe guy won’t step aside for beating just Cagney Carnation. All bosses in Inkwell Isle 1 need to be defeated to access the coin.

For the 2 Strip filter, you can get 1 S rank instead of getting all As on all bosses. I S ranked the root pack but still havent gotten enough As in isle 3, but I have it.
Doesn’t work like that, I got an s rank on root pack the second I beat the devil and I still don’t have two strip

Something else kind of cool. The sub-boss Chips Bettigan in the stage "All Bets Are Off" sort of reminds me of the Mega Man boss Yellow Devil. Their attacks are very similar.
