    C15 acert mxs engine, oil pressure 60 at idle and 75 running did Maines and rods oil pressure went to 25 idle and 55-60 running did a complete over haul a year later thinking oil pressure would go back but stayed at 25 at idle any recommendations on what to look for its been 2 years since overhaul and still running.

    How do you recommend pulling off a bad sleeve without removing the oil pan? I dont want to further damage it or get it stuck.

      Probably carton packing on the rings and liners. Might want to try some of the Cummins restore oil if you can find it. They discontinued it.

    so much for cleaning the customers oil pan once its off

  • @youtubeisawesome2487
    @youtubeisawesome2487 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    the isolators are to stop noise, they do not seal anything, if you look at the gasket it has the sealing surface around the bolt hole, the reason a oil pan looks like its leaking is usually the dipstick plug is hard and leaking and it runs to the back side and runs off the back, and if the truck leans which most do it will be on the driver side, the rubber oil pan gasket design stopped the oil pan from cracking and reduced engine noise, have you ever epoxyed the head gasket for the oil leak with the old diaper system, you might fix the leaks but it would continue to leak for a year, at least they did away with that.

    • @jotegg1276
      @jotegg1276 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, they dont need noise suppression on the pan. Those are not isolators per say, they are there so you dont crush the pan gasket by over tightening. They also pop into the pan so they do have a seal around them or they would fall out, that seal is to keep any oil that weeps past the gasket over time from leaking out thru by the bolt. Some of the threads in the block for the pan are threaded thru into the inside of the engine.

    • @youtubeisawesome2487
      @youtubeisawesome2487 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jotegg1276 you might want to attend some cat classes so you can learn about the oil pan gasket design and what it was engineered for. and the cat package says isolator on it

    • @jotegg1276
      @jotegg1276 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@youtubeisawesome2487 you actually might look up in a dictionary what "isolator" means. Noise suppressors for an oil pan, not. Sound will not carry thru liquid as thick as oil and the pans are aluminum. Tap the side of a glass, then fill it with water, its own noise suppression. The sides of the engine needs that insulation for the noise because it sets next to the cylinders where 90% of the noise comes from. Those isolators are ment as in isolation or alone, single, separate. . . basic education. not my 35 yrs as a mech.

      I had the oil pan gasket replaced- but not the rubber grommets, it leaking exactly where you said from the passenger side. Should I pay someone to replace the rubber grommets? I tried looking for a leak in main seal area but can’t tell if it’s leaking from there. Any thoughts 🙏

      @kevinmazur1519 on the right side(passenger side) third bolt back from the front. That bolt hole goes into the oil reservoir. It's not a bottom out thread but a through hole. Take that bolt out and degreaae it thoroughly( brake clean, acetone ). Clean the hole as good as u can to try to get any left over oil out. Coat that bolt with Right Stuff silicone and put it back it. Don't run ur motor right away(give it time to set up)
