One thing I think most people missed about Lucius is he sacrificed everything to do the right thing. Think about it. Why is a man this intelligent in the basement of Wayne Enterprise? Simple. He's there by choice. He could've quit Wayne after the death of Thomas and Martha and started working privately for anyone who would pay and be rolling in more money than he would know what to do with. But in the final movie, he reveals that he's been slowly consolidating his life's work to a smaller and smaller department where he could keep an eye on it and "keep it from falling into the wrong hands" (it's not his fault Bain found out Bruce's secret identity and stole the Tumblers). That's why we see him alone underground like this. He's been acting as a gatekeeper to keep his tech from hurting anyone. Ask yourself how many men in the world would work this hard and, not only refuse the wealth, but the prestige that comes with everyone knowing how smart you are. This is ultimately why Bruce puts him in charge of his family's company. Only a person of his character could be trusted with it.
0:39 such a damn good line, really nice callback to their first conversation and building on this current one. This is how proper comedy is written into an otherwise "dark and gritty, realistic," movie. The more I rewatch these, the more I realize how funny and hopeful they actually are.
Morgan Freeman is probably the most hard working actor in the US today. He is everywhere. Classic drama, romantic comedy and every other type of movie. He is just magic when he is on screen.
the best line in the hwole film "Don't think of me as an idiot." a friend of mine was one of the white officers in Glory and he liked morgan freeman but said he had a way of saluting you when in uniform with a look in his eye that said "I'm saluting you but don't think you're better than me."
In the real life Tumbler, when you’re driving it and it’s under its own power, it’s way too loud to communicate with anyone. There’s a video here on TH-cam talking about how loud it is. The rear end transmission is a big part of that. The tires were supposedly 500 lbs each.
I love Christian bale and Morgan freeman. I have never watched batman yet lol....and I had no idea that freeman was in it too,I've GOT to watch it😮😮😮 and for a 2005 movie omg it looks beautiful I would have guessed it was 10 years younger🤗😎👍💙
I love the backstory of the tumbler. This is one of the things you can't fully appreciate on the first watch. You just accept that Batman has this wicked black vehicle and don't question it. Its origin as a river jumping, bridge laying battle tank is something I've only fully realized today.
just the effort to make you some how believe this would be possible is whats missing in our superheroes today. Nolan made a amazing job putting this hero in a movie-reality instead of just going crazy.
Lucius Fox is a man of reason due his technical and scientific trades. He does approve what Wayne is doing as a Batman, we can see it easily in the famous threat scene where he explained the situation very clearly. So in his point of view, his client as a bilionare and as a most powerful man in Gotham chooses to fight with criminals with his bare hands in night, then he will do as much as he can to support him what he is doing. He also has solid moral and ethic rules where we saw at the end of second movie while using the device to track joker. He said Wayne to consider him as resigned if the device will be kept at wayne enterprise. So, he is the king of nerds with ethics. Of course, he will be a batman fan 🦇
0:30 Where does the low humming noise come from. Usually it is only transformers that hum. He took on a glove, where is the energy stored, ? Why are the things glowing, if it is electricity is making the fabric ridgid and stiff? Or is it a " ready to fire " , signal?
One thing i hate in the Nolan movies is how all the bat-gear alread exists, and even worst, nobody misses it when Bruce takes it. Are there no cameras in Wayne Enterprises ? And ok, the suit and the gadgets could be put inside a case or the trunk of a car, but does no one sees the tumblr in the News and thinks : " Hey, that military Jeep looks like something W.E would build for the army. The police should definitly go interrogate someone about their inventory."
@@Krexxal No, it isn't. The guy who put 2 and 2 togheter to find out about the batman isn't a tech engineer, he is an accountant. The only reason he realizes whats happening is because Lucius forces him to look for the money hole he left by giving Wayne Enterprises tech to batman without some good excuse for the toys to disapear. Nobody ever associates the tech with Wayne ever in the Nolan verse, and that is crazy for a "realistic" movie.
I mean RND was basically a Ghost Department and Fox spends his time making sure he has all control over it. So no. There isn’t anypne that would notice. And when someone does, as we see in TDK, they are wisely advised to stop noticing.
@@mrbubbles6468 So the engineers who worked on it didn't notice ? The army brench who requested the Tumbler then didn't keep it because it was to expensive didn't notice two ? Wayne enterprises "Applied sciences/ R&D department is off the books" Which means nobody outside knows this department exists since it's closed due to Thomas Wayne death & the money used in this department is not shown in Wayne enterprises balance sheet, except for Earle who unfortunately doesn't know about Lucius fox inventions (who's doing it secretly) & Applied sciences is just a dept for creating hardware for military (which like I said was closed unofficially) Which is why Earle asking for information in batman begins to fox & fires him!
If you were Bruce, do you really think this is the 1st time youd have driven this? You own a company making cutting edge military tech and you aint stopping by a few times a week toy shopping? Naaah 2 days after it rolls off the line and Wayne Manor already has a jump track 😅
The one he saw that first got his attention was black annoys me why they didn't have camo one in that spot. His "Does it come in black?" Weird question because that
"Don't think of me as an idiot"
"Fair enough".
I always liked the dynamic of mutual respect between these two.
I love that little "yes sir?" Lucius throws in there.
“Oh, you wouldn’t be interested in that.”
Why does that sound like a brilliant and sly sales pitch?
His facial expression and cadence delivering the line. Chills
Because it is a brilliant and sly sales pitch.
Because it is. The way he said it intrigues you as the potential buyer
Because it worked. lol
Bruce already owns it though
Always liked the chemistry between these two
I need a two hours movie about Bruce testing things from Lucius department
with Lucius narrating the whole time
That would be a great movie
That would be so fun
Shut up and take my money.
"Does it come in black?" - Mr. Wayne
😂😂😂You have 5 thumbs up…..you’re gonna get Wayyyy more‼️
Well ok 6
58 now
😁 so, what do you think?
Hahaha, I was right‼️
"For the right price, Mr Wayne, i'll let you come in black"
"If you don't want to tell me exactly what you're doing, when I'm asked, I don't have to lie". Such a brilliant line.
"But don't think of me as an idiot."
Fox knew already.
I didn't think so, so when I'm asked I will snitch?
"Sell me this pen"
Fox: oh u wouldn't be interested in that 😳
2:01-2:04 This line will never cease to make me smile with glee.😁
Best line in the trilogy.
Morgan Freeman does so amazing in all 3 movies
It's his gift and we thank him for it.

This is very well put! Thank you!
Fun fact: Lucius Fox's son, Luke Fox is Batwing in the comics.
In animated movies too
I was 6 years old when this awesome movie came out in 2005. How about you?
Yep. Just as smart as he is, who possesses an advanced tech armor similar to what Batman beyond wears in the future.

"let's see Paul alan's car"
Only valid comment
😂😂😂😂😂
lmao
oh dear- you won the internet today for me
"Oh my god, it even has a watermark.."
That car is a beast, and I want one.
Reminds me of commissioner Gordon, "I gotta get me one of those 😂"
Its in my top 3 batmobiles imo
@@haaf_z007I know what you mean. The first of my three is and always will be the 1989 Batmobile but the tumbler is one of the other two 😁👍

Look at that sutble camouflge color, the tasteful appearance of it, it even has 4 big tires in the back and thrusters.

2:01 Patrick Bateman coming out
Morgan Freeman in DC.
Samuel L. Jackson in Marvel.
Violas Davis in DC extended universe
He so knows that something is up but just plays along.
NOT NOW! lol greatly delivered by Freeman
"we never get the damn bridge to work.."
But somehow, Bruce made it to work like that. He also fixed the Bat's autopilot.
Amazing details.
“Never could get the damn bridge to work” is actually what Lucius said, but that the car worked fine otherwise, including ramp less jumps.

I liked the scene where Bruce Wayne takes a mallet and hammers at the Tumbler's cargo door until it fits a briefcase.
"Têm cor Preta ??" - Sr. Wayne.
I love how they made the Tumbler sound in these movies. It's great
i love how bruce wayne smiles like kid in front of Fox like a Kid requesting new toy from his dad
Every darn time I watch this scene, it just brings a smile to my face, a mile wide.
I love how the batmobile roars like a lion.
The best and the most realistic batmobile by far.
It'll be a long time before this trilogy is beaten 🔥

Outstanding
Anybody else notice in the 1st 2 movies, the only way the tumbler stopped was by running into something? Every scene its in
Except this scene.
"nice car!"
"you should see my another one"
the car.....
They filmed the tumbler driving at the excel centre in East London. It’s an enormous exhibition centre.
Batman only works in black. Sometimes dark gray. The Lego movie.
