All right Tim, I am back. I left bc I have no friends to actually game with, your videos made me sad bc they reminded me of all the games and good times I was missing out on if I had friends to game with. I have made a New Years resolution to make new friends at local comic shops. Because of this I am back and subbed to your channel again. Cheers and happy holidays!
Dude! Same here man. I hope it works out for you this year. I could connect a bit again with people playing games and it's helping me a lot with my mental wellbeing as well. It such wholesome thing to do :)
That’s so amazing to hear! I’ve been really trying to up the clarity of explanations alongside the visuals and hearing this is really rewarding~ Thank you so much! 🎉
I was on the fence due to the price of the all-in but it looks right up my alley, love asymmetry in games and area control, this looks really promising, and that art is just knocking it out of the park! And of course your videos are just in another tier on it's own with the production and quality, well done sir!
great video, love production quality. explanations are perfect. love your channel I ve just discovered. and intrigued about playing Avalon now !!! thanks Tim :)
Excalibur!!! Wow, you put another game on the map for me! Before this, with the Avalon name, I had thought that this was another version of The Resistance. But now I am very intrigued - and will consider backing it!
I subscribed just because of this video! Very well done. Presentation and professionalism is identical to Before you Play and I love that channel. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
Excalibur. Thanks for the preview. This game has certainly piqued my interest. I love asymmetry but also like that there are symmetric options since some of my friends don't enjoy asymmetry as much as me. Plus, the symmetric options seem like a great way to teach the game to new players.
3 is fantastic! I played my first game with my cousins at 3, and ive enjoyed it as much as 4p and more than 2p! You block off a few map sections so everything remains interactive, and you got lots of fun competition in exploration/battles!
Amazing video, as always! You’re the best board game content creator on TH-cam! I have a question for you, or maybe for anyone who has played Mordred and Avalon: The Riven Veil. Which game do you think is better, and what mechanics do you think one game has over the other?
oh wow that means the world, thank you so much! happy to hear you're enjoying the content! I actually haven't played Mordred, but i will say Avalon's definitely one of most anticipated games for 2025 for sure!!
So the areas without settlements get shuffled each season. But there's only 4 in levels 1&2. Assuming a couple settlements get on the board innthe first season, is there really that much of map changing? I feel average case is 2 regions get swapped or stay in place (won't know til you flip). Are regions that impactful where not knowing that information nmatters much?
Wonderful question! It really depends on how heavy players lean into settlement; from our games, we didn’t settle too often and I think the undead (with their asymmetrical powers) are the only ones geared towards settling often so our maps changed most of the locations from season to season
Hey Tim curious if you have any idea why the kickstarter has been sitting around 750k for like 4 days? I backed both Avalon and World Order the same day. Avalon got to 700k insanely fast and has pretty much stuck. World Order isn't as high but is going up by 10-20k a day. Is the thing not refreshing for Avalon? Just seems bizarre something could stall out so early on.
That’s a great point! I’m hoping they hit a million before the campaign’s over, but maybe it’s bc of no stretch goals/mid-campaign videos? Those usually help a lot after the first 24 hrs!
@@keoladacalio inside a medieval 🏰 castle! (I wish) hahah it’s a film set in Los Angeles! Actually recorded a little bts that I’ll be posting later! 🙌🏽
I haven’t about this just yet because i wanted to solidify my thoughts after a couple more plays! It’s definitely not a dealbreaker, but i hope they add in a little more gusto to the end! 🐺
AH this would have been a dream 🥲 I’m hoping to run a kickstarter for the channel next year so we can afford to actually do gameplays and fully-fleshed out reviews! The scenes where i filmed b roll at home here were all because we didn’t have enough time on set, but hopefully the campaign can give us the flexibility to do more! 🐺
Oof wonderful list! I’ll speak to the games I’ve played through! 1) Avalon (the prototype I’ve played is faster setup/play, the asymmetry is unlike anything below, and the army building/variable maps really pay off) 2) Blood Rage 3) Lords of Ragnarok 4) Kemet (haven’t played the latest expansions that just launched) 5) Risk 😂
Excalibuuuuuuuur.. dang, i donmt know if i want to back now.. if the end feels flat it might just be a sad game.. Do you know if they will implement somthing or?
Thanks so much for watching till the end!! That’s a fair concern~ It really depends on player choices in the end because I had games where we chose to end the fight in one place, but that won’t always play out if players are (rightfully so) going for points only. I hope they make a small adjustment to add some kind of incentive for that!
Makes sense.. i mean, i just watched the dice tower playthrough. And this game reminds me so much of wonderlands war for some reason. I backed it now.. hope they do adjust some of the concerns people have.. i also thought of a solo mode like in andomedas edge.. but i hope they do make one themselves..
Compared to Blood Rage, how does this feel? I watched The Dice Tower's play through and it felt like it was just kind of... low strategy? Like, you just play your cards and take your actions, but it's lot lower player interaction than I was expecting. I felt like everyone just kind of did what they wanted to do and then combat was fairly low strategy as well - just play a red card and hope you get lucky on the blackjack mini-game.
Tim your videos are top-notch. I think I am going to back it just off of your presentation; your production value is unreal my man
That’s a crazy high compliment-thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the game-Avalon’s such a fun area control though!! 🐺
Currently there's no other channel that has this level of videography in the board games industry. Well done Tim!
Agreed such amazing talent, he’s always had an eye for video and pictures.
So excited for you to be enjoying what we’re producing!! Thank you so much! 🐺
Production better than Awaken Realms
I'm sure @ontableboardgames1087 would stand up for the challenge of great board game videography!
But agreed - Tim's materials are beautiful to watch.

Spectacular content.
Needless to say the visuals is far beyond any creator and the mechanics breakdown is by far the clearest and informative.
That’s so amazing to hear! I’ve been really trying to up the clarity of explanations alongside the visuals and hearing this is really rewarding~ Thank you so much! 🎉
The quality of this video is the highest I've ever seen for a review. Well done!

I CANNOT WAIT OMG!!!!! Backed it straight away. Also love the lighting in this video, so atmospheric.
Looks epic, well described and explained as I had watched a few other videos but this gave me the best step by step explanation!
Dude. Your production level is top-notch! Great job!
Excalibur - I can’t wait for this game to deliver!
Excalibur, great video! Absolutely can’t wait for this to come out!
Production quality off the charts 🔥
🐺🐺🐺 appreciate you a ton!!!
Excalibur!!!
Great video Tim!
Excalibur! Great review!
You are the GOAT of Board Game Reviewers!!
Gotta back the game after seeing your presentation.
Excalibur, very good video (again)!
great video, love production quality. explanations are perfect. love your channel I ve just discovered. and intrigued about playing Avalon now !!! thanks Tim :)
Excalibur!
Not sure if this game is for me, but really excited to start playing Oathsworn.
Excalibur!!! Wow, you put another game on the map for me! Before this, with the Avalon name, I had thought that this was another version of The Resistance. But now I am very intrigued - and will consider backing it!
Excalibur. Thanks Tim, great video( as usual ). I really want this game😊
Best board game content! I just got my copy of Oathsworn, late to the party here. Needless to say I love it and Im gonna back this too.
It’s never too late! OOH now with Oathsworn to the table, and if you’ve enjoyed the combat system there, you’re gonna love Avalon! 🐺

Excalibur and awesome video ❤
Excalibur! Thanks for the overview Tim.
LETS GO!!! Thanks so much for watching till the end!! 🐺
Wow. Such a great review. I am a new fan.
Hey so happy to have you! WELCOME TO THE WOLF PACK! 🐺
@TimChuon I am in love with the game, but it does not ship to my country. So frustrating.
You sir just earned one more sub!
So glad to have you and welcome to The Wolf Pack! 🐺
Once again, spectacular cinematography!!
Videography. This is not Cinema for it to be Cinematography.
@@kaytee8716 Whoops. Very true. Thanks for that catch!

Excalibur 🗡️ great video
wow stunning video!!!
Ahhh the team says thank you!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
What about 3 players? That's the usual size of my group, but this feels that everything on the map is made in quads, so for either 2 or 4.

Please can I ask you how much time take 2 player game and three? And learning curve ? It is difficult to learn? Because I backed all in . Thanks
Excalibur..Great vid. Thx
Awesome review :)
Thanks so much for watching!! 🐺
15:11 So, would 3 players be the sweet-spot, then?

Andromeda's Edge starting to sweat a little Tim? 😀
HAHA! Maybe just a tiny bit! 🤣
The production value is immaculate
🎉🎉🎉 thanks so much for watching! 🐺
Excalibur
@Tim Chuon Whats the aproximate weight for the base game Avalon? Around 3kg ? Need the info so I can back the project
The one you see in this video (i think that’s the base game) is about 8.5 pounds/ 3.8kg!
As of the prototype!
Is this your most hyped game of 2025?
OHHH it’s definitely up there for 2025!!
12:40 No, I wouldn’t…
How would you rank these games? (top best)
Blood Rage
Kemet
Avalon : TRV
Yucatan
Risk
Lords of Ragnarok
Thanks
Excalibur looks amazing with that tiny little shield. LOL Great video very excited about this one.

So, Blood Rage 2.0?
AH I kicked myself realizing I forgot to do an ending comparison to BR, but it definitely feels like an expanded
/more fleshed out/modern BR!
blood rage killer
You know…this one definitely has the potential to replace blood rage for me but will have to wait and see the final version!!
