You did a stunning custom restomod on that Mercedes 300 SL , but yeah you could've made the wheels turn , maybe by putting pins in the axel hubs , great job 👍
Thank you very much for the feedback 🙂👍 Yes that would make the restomod perfect, but unfortunately there was not enough space to install a rollable connection. The model is also very low, so the tires lie on the inside fender and would not roll anyway. I'm currently making a video about converting rollable rims, check out my channel again if you're interested 😊
The wheels don't need to role. In fact most high-end sealed resin models come with fixed wheels which don't role. I also deploy this tactic in some builds where stance become a thing. Presentation value is much more important than wheels which don't role. But yes, it's great build.
Hi, yes... they can not turn. It would be to complicated for that build and i would lose a lot of time but you can check out the my Bburago Ferrari 288 Video. There you can se how i have build also rolling whells with metal bearings.
Many thanks for the positive feedback 😊👍 I was also thinking about adding some black stripes, maybe i will do that 👍 PS: My models are 1/18 scale, but i also made some 1/24 scale model cars. 1/18 has more details and better for customizing 😊
New Subscriber and we hit the bell ❤ love it I do similar stuff, we will be back next year😊 Merry Christmas to you and your family and all the best for 2024🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Cheers🍺🍻🍺🍻 KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🤝😎✌👍
I had no space to do anything else. For me, the whells don't need to roll, i also had never problems that the whells are not holding. If you are like to see how i do rolling wheels, check out my Bburago Ferrari 288 Video
Hi, yes that is a metal body. I don't strip down the paint to the bare metal, becuase also on real cars you don't do that if you repaint them. I just repair some spots where paint is not in good condition. Saves a lot of time
Understand that it would be great if wheels would turn and steer, but by lowering, it is impossible to make them steer. Also a real car with Airride Suspension can't steer. For rolling wheel, it was not enough space on the axle and It would took so much time to build and i spent 3 months building this Mercedes without rolling or steering. I have placed the model i a plexiglas box, so it can't be moved or touched anyway. But yes, your right... with steering and rolling working, it would be perfect. If you like to see how i build rolling wheels, look at my "How to change wheels" video. 😊
Thanks for the feedback, i like to do custom cars, it would be boring for me, only to do restoration without a custom touch... Taste is different, and that is fine 🙂👍
Hi, all parts are the original one, only engine was from a Mercedes SL Maisto and seats from Bburago F40 Ferrari. I buy often used models in bad condition from eBay and some of them i do restoration and the rest are striped for spare parts
What I love about this is that there's no fake patina or any BS like that. You're doing an awesome modification/customization.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much for the positive feedback, I'm doing my best to show you great models
@@jaysmodelcarcollection8338 you're awesome and extremely creative. This is what the community needs.
Yeah!!!!! Right! I can't stand fake mud n stuff. Pure perfection is best.

Pretty cool but...the wheels not roll...
The wheels don't need to role. In fact most high-end sealed resin models come with fixed wheels which don't role. I also deploy this tactic in some builds where stance become a thing. Presentation value is much more important than wheels which don't role. But yes, it's great build.
I'm with you. It don't roll or turn, not worth it.

It’s on air ride
It's a display model, not a toy. What's the point of having rolling wheels when the model sits in display case? 😂
👏👏👏👏
Hi can you do a Ford Mustang Pace Car 1979 tuning Fast and Furious style
Good idea, will think about it 👍
👏👏👏👏👏👌👍
Nice 😊😊😊

Is there an actual on/ off switch for leds, and where? Thx
Yes, the switch is built into the battery housing. You can see the switch at 13:45
Perfekt
It was all perfect until You've cut the wheel pins and glued new ones
I had no space to do anything else. For me, the whells don't need to roll, i also had never problems that the whells are not holding. If you are like to see how i do rolling wheels, check out my Bburago Ferrari 288 Video
V8? Since when did the Mercedes 300 SL have a V8? It always had an inline 6 cylinder!
Hi Jonny, the 300SL has a Inline6, but i wanted to build a restomod custom version, so i have used the V8 Motorplate from the Maisto SL 500 😊
Hello. What paints are used for these restorations on both plastic and metal
I just have only one question? Why didn't you put the tires on the same orientation, the front ones are mounted backwards
Thanks for the Information... i have not noticed that 😄👍👍
It's the opposite - front ones are correct. The kind of "arrow" picture of tires is always directed backwards.
Arent these ones made of metal? What about the old paint?
Hi, yes that is a metal body. I don't strip down the paint to the bare metal, becuase also on real cars you don't do that if you repaint them. I just repair some spots where paint is not in good condition. Saves a lot of time

I like the older model, with the spining weels and a retro vibe.
You ruined.

Where you found spare parts for diecast?
