I love when folks "update/detail" these models. They are SUCH a great base to detail and/or restore, making the model even better. The LEDs were a fantastic addition (above and beyond, for sure).

Exactly the content I've been looking for - no fake restorations, but quality modding of existing models. Great choice of base models - Bburago, Maisto, Solido, there's still plenty of them everywhere.

that's just amazing man...what a great job. Lots of these restorations don't have the same kind of paint work as a real car, you can see in one glance it's not real. But you got the paint so rich and flawless. The working lights really tie it together and then the lighted dials are just out of this world...when it's standing in the dark with the lights on I'd swear it's an actual real car...you Sir, are an old school artisan

That's what a Bburago needs though, paint here and there and a humble Bburago ends looking like a Minichamps or even like an Autoart. Black and brown interior was fantastic, engine, oh that engine, you just painted it and the result was amazing, leds for dashboard headlights and tailights was awesome but, but but but my only complain is, you didn't flocked the interior. You can use flock to simulate carpeting, no big deal, you can still do it, just look for flock in a modeling store, there are many colors to choose from, do it and I'm sure your 993 will end looking even more amazing 😃😃.
Thank you very much for the positive comment. Yes you are right, flocking makes the model even more realistic. I was already thinking about doing the same for the Porsche, but I wanted to keep the lettering on the floor mat and I didn't have brown flakes either. For my current project, I will be flocking the interior, hopefully will upload the video soon.

It is super beautiful, I could recommend that you make some windows from the hard plastic of some packaging, so it would be more similar to a UT Models car

You are very skilled ! Shame bburago never remade older molds after bankrupting. Otherwise I would've tried to do what you have done. A part of me still can't handle customizing a original Italy bburago, they are really a thing of the past, like a time capsule !!
As of now i have 3 Italy bburagos, in great condition with catalog. (F150, Corvette C5, Smart roadster) I also want to improve them some day, though maybe buying a re-produced one. Thank you for great video 😁😁
Thaks for the positive feedback 🙂👍I can absolutely understand that, I would never disassemble an old Bburago which is in top condition, but it is still a lot of fun to buy old Bburago in bad condition and to restore them. PS: You have also some top Bburago models 👍

The first ever 993 by Burago that has been tastefully modded. Others were just riced, no excemptions(I'm actually a fanatic of this model so I spent years looking for custom ones). Very good, just subbed!

I've always said Bburago models were or are very well made and detailed, just poorly finished off and you've just proven that finished properly they do look top brand models, well done, looks amazing.

Very cool. I've got this model and just dug out to mod it. 20 years or so ago I took the stickers off and made the wheels black with chrome rims. Inspired to do the rest now!

Incredible job! Amazing what a little paint can do on the interior and chassis. Love the window and light accents too. LED’s are a real nice touch too, although I have zero experience with them. I have in the past touched up a few Maisto’s I have. Lights would’ve been cool. Lol.
Question, where did you find the wheels, and do they still spin after installation?
Hello, the wheels are custom made, they can't spin anymore. In my opinion, they don't have to turn. Instead, it has great look and LED lighting 🙂

Great job! The rims look really big. Can the front wheels be turned with them? I assume the original model had a working steering wheel.

Thank you, i have used Sonax Extrem for old an waer paint. It took about 2h work to remove all yellow surfaces.

Hello, thanks for the comment 👍 I used Revell Aqua for this model, but the consistency of different colors is very strong, some of them have to be diluted heavily in order to get good results with the brush. The brown color at the interior is mixed by myself from different Revell Aqua, like red, black, blue, white.
Great skill with brush painting, I always prefered airbrush as I couldn't paint nicely like you did here. What are the paints you were using?

Any particular reason you didn't repaint the main body?
It looks fantastic though! Only the panel gaps really give away that its an older/budget model
The white paint wasn't bad, just very yellowish. So I had to do a lot of polishing work. That's why I decided not to paint the model. The only advantage of a Bburago painting are the body transitions from the mold so that they are not visible anymore. My current project will involve a complete paint job, check out my channel not to miss it 🙂

People even today love to follow this hobby. Customising once done collecting, but how is it actually going to benefit us? This a lot of work as compared to a jumping tiktoker.

Many thanks! Yes, of course, each model can be individually designed. Of course it doesn't make sense to make a current Autoart like this, since the models are already very detailed. The greatest effect is achieved with old Diecast Bburago, Maisto, Solido, Revell... I always say the uglier, the more you can make of it.😄
@@jaysmodelcarcollection8338 i always noticed that bburago had much more detailed parts and sections of their models compared to maisto, at least they tried to avoid just doing a top molded engine bay with no depth. it leaves for a great starting point for getting into car modeling!

Humbrol silver for the wheels and flat black for the bolts.

The wheels/rims are unique, the base wheel is from the Maisto Porsche Caymen but with custom-made aluminum rings made on a turning machine.
