He should never have done Sern's show. Stern is a 'muck- raker' and Dangerfield was in no physical condition to this interview....4 months before his death!
I would rather remember Rodney as he was in the movie "Caddyshack" or on the Tonight Show with Carson.

I read Rodney's book, it's amazing how stoic he was about bad things that happened to him. Seems this attribute was lost starting with baby boomers. But he lived to give tremendous love and support to many and always respected truth and science.

Gone, almost twenty years now. Howard, "I figured this was it. Nobody survives brain surgery." He was right. Rodney died about five months after the interview, just over a year after the surgery. People don't realize that Jacob Rodney Cohen (he took the name Rodney Dangerfield from a cowboy character used by Jack Benney on his radio show) had a tough time getting his career going until he developed his Dangerfield "no respect" character. He was nearly 50 when he finally "made it" by appearing on the Johnny Carson show. The rest is history. RIP, funny man.

there's wanting to have people tell the truth . and then there's just continuously pushing to frame everything in the worst possible light. more insulting than entertaining. the great hosts/interviewers are the ones that open new doors for the guests but allow them to walk through those doors on their own. not just badgering the guest and pushing them through the door at any cost.
