I'm 5'3" and busty... it balances my figure, also I had both cropped and full length barrel leg jeans... Here's my tip: 1. If buying barrel leg jeans go with no stretch and size up... the elastane degrades it 2. Cropped one makes u look shorter and stocky, go for full length that cover ur ankles 3. Padded shoulder tops looks sooo damn nice with these 4. If u have a slightly wider hem pants pinch it and fold it to create a faux barrel leg style for new look
I wear them sometimes, but I have to say, I dont love them. At the end of the day they are amid rise baggy pant, and that always ends up looking crap. I see people wear them, and they all look like they have super short legs, with a mile long torso and oversized head. The only reason I wear them honestly is just because they are in. I'll ditch them at first opportunity. Any pant can be cropped and you can show off a shoe. Mostly I stick to just wide leg jeans that sit normally at the real waist.

I have two pair, both are high rise, one is cropped and the other regular length. They are both a slimmer silhouette than some versions out there. Like most jeans, I think you have to keep trying different ones on until you find the best one's for you.

On a whim, I bought a pair of barrel-leg khaki pants (Banana Republic) a couple of seasons ago. I wear them all of the time! I am wider on top than the bottom (upside down triangle), 5'2", and the barrel leg is really flattering on my body. Because the pant's fabric is somewhat structured and the color is multi-sesonal, I wear this pant with all types of shoes, jackets, sweaters, tanks, etc. throughout the year.
I am 1,55m and the barrel leg jeans I bought are a life saver. I don't have to get them tailored which is a saving too. I also don't have to wear heels.
Barrel leg pants or jeans look surprisingly good on my short, curvy and apple shape body, you have to give it a try. I own several barrel leg trousers now, very pleased with them.
I really really like barrel leg jeans and trousers! I didn't immagine that I would like them at all when they came out some time ago, but - as you mentioned - they are really flattering! However, it's not easy to find the right pair, they should not be too wide and not even too short. I have got one from the brand "Frame" that fit perfectly and I really love them!
LOVE the faux fur being on trend! Last time I went thrifting I just so happened to pick up some gorgeous faux fur outerwear! A tan knee length coat and a black open front vest. Dry cleaning them coat more than the item itself😆

There are so many great trends this year, based on classics. I love your Fair Isle sweater, I just got a cream one with browns in it (Petite Studio), great for wearing this season’s brown skirts and trousers. This fashion season is the best I’ve seen in ages and the color trends are great, too: dark browns, burgundy/dark red and khaki green are already abundant in my wardrobe. Now that they’re on trend I’ve been able to find more great items in these colors, like my new burgundy and khaki green leather short skirts (Whistles). I’m still looking for tall burgundy leather boots, I haven’t seen many.

To those still debating whether to purchase a barrel leg jean, do it but be warned, not all barrels are made equally. I purchased 2 very early into the trend and have enjoyed wearing them so thought I'd add another colour I liked for Autumn/Winter. I basketed it but hesitated for sometime. I finally committed for fear of them selling out and when trying on, came to realise that barrel legs can be hit or miss and sadly on that occasion, it was a huge miss. Why, because the length was too long, my previous skirted the ankles, and the barrel portion started too low, around the knee whilst my previous 2 graduated from the hip with more subtly. So, because I've had 2 great experiences and 1 not so, if you start with a not so great, don't give up because there will be a cut that works for you. Btw, my 2 great experiences were purchased from Zara.

At work, you & your clothing take up more space. Don’t be alarmed if people don’t sit by you until the last chair is available next to you. Your clothing will get dirty quicker because unavoidably going to have parts that run up against the walls and on the floor. It’s hard to sit by you at work meetings because you and your clothing take up so much more space. We all want our own personal space but your clothes flow over. Just some heads up. I’ve been through that era. ❤

Just got a pair of barrel leg jeans from zara. And love the look so much! But I noticed this barrel shape is somewhat different in various brands: the ones that are evenly shaped look much better than the ones that are rounder on the outer side. Some or them make legs wheel shaped. Also I believe short women need a cropped variant, otherwise the original shape is lost, and tailoring isn’t a good option in this case.
With no intention to offend those who love barrel jeans you may have just explained to me, why they make some look bow-legged so excellent information IMO so I might just try a pair. (BTW I'm 77 years of age/slender/5'5" in height/short torso but long legged.)

Faux fur, real fur. Your choice. I love real leather and fur. Faux fur usually comes off as really cheap when used as a full jacket or piece but that's just my opinion.

HATE CAPES because they restrict your arms so you cannot drive without taking the cape off. They are good as a layer over your heavy coat to catch the wet snow and prevent the wetness from soaking your warm coat . BUT you still need to remove it to drive. If made of waterproof material and construction, RAIN CAPES make sense, but NO CAPE IS WARM because of the breeze up the back. Bhurrrr...

The capes I have had access to had slits that only allowed forearms to extend forward from the elbow, but not allowing the elbow to elevate from the ribcage, preventing the ability to reach the top of a steering wheel. Even if the arm slits would open higher, that would make the front almost as chilly as the breezy back.
Ferrule Sweater is old fashioned and always screams ski village most inflattering piece very dowdy and makes one feel like old lady vibes. I always wear what suits me and not bye into the cheap trends. Love the plain sweaters, suits everyone. Barrel jeans unless you are 9 feet tall again does not suit everyone. Great content.
I purchased a lily silk sweater 2 years ago, the piling is ridiculous!! Within a few hours, the sweater looks like I have worn it every day and it looks like an old rag. I will stick to the silk blouses, not the sweater.

Faux fur, real fur. Your choice. I love real leather and fur. Faux fur usually comes off as really cheap when used as a full jacket or piece but that's just my opinion.
@mamagina...I too am a suede, leather and fur girl myself! I feel in eating meat if you use the leather it uses more of the product in which case it is also more profitable.

You can never tell what the weather will be like in December - it's SO up and down. Our weather doesn't level out and properly warm up until mid Jan usually but I hope you get great weather when you're here x

That camo looks like Minecraft.
HATE CAPES because they restrict your arms so you cannot drive without taking the cape off.
They are good as a layer over your heavy coat to catch the wet snow and prevent the wetness from soaking your warm coat . BUT you still need to remove it to drive.
If made of waterproof material and construction, RAIN CAPES make sense, but NO CAPE IS WARM because of the breeze up the back. Bhurrrr...
Oh the capes I’ve owned are either short enough to not restrict my arms or have slits in the sides for my arms to poke through!

The capes I have had access to had slits that only allowed forearms to extend forward from the elbow, but not allowing the elbow to elevate from the ribcage, preventing the ability to reach the top of a steering wheel. Even if the arm slits would open higher, that would make the front almost as chilly as the breezy back.

Ferrule Sweater is old fashioned and always screams ski village most inflattering piece very dowdy and makes one feel like
old lady vibes. I always wear what suits me and not bye into the cheap trends. Love the plain sweaters, suits everyone. Barrel jeans unless you are 9 feet tall again does not suit everyone. Great content.

I know I am going to get a lot of negativity but barrel pants do not look good on anyone.
I purchased a lily silk sweater 2 years ago, the piling is ridiculous!! Within a few hours, the sweater looks like I have worn it every day and it looks like an old rag. I will stick to the silk blouses, not the sweater.
