omg Leonie - SUCH a smart yet simple tip about wearing white tshirts back to front to keep them peeking out under my crewneck sweaters🤩just recently subscribed to your channel - loving it!!
Great video! I really appreciate you showing a variety of pictures regarding the different styles! Your videos always give me lots of ideas of things I can do with my own wardrobe! Thank you!
I don't care for how I look in camel. I bought a long herringbone coat instead, and it definitely works better for me with my hair and skin tone. When anyone suggests camel I substitute grey or herringbone 😁 And YES on the cargo pants. I love having extra pockets 😂
Great video again Leonie very informative and helpful. Love the tip about wearing T-shirt back to front! You definitely have a wealth of knowledge x great to see you trying on pieces too thank you petal x 🌸
Cargo pants, wide leg pants, long denim coats, denim purses, etc. were in style in the late 70's and early 80's. Too bad I don't have any of those great clothes anymore.
Just thought I’d let you know I follow lots of fashion sites and yours really is my favorite. Not a lot of extra commentary. Our taste is different, but always enjoy your videos. Well done!
Agree! Any type of logo or print will automatically date your article of 😂 clothing. EXCEPT polka dots and stripes are always in fashion. If you can't resist buying a logo or print, at least buy an inexpensive version of it. You'll always need another dust rag next year, LOL!
Two pairs of cargo here! One dark chocolate and one pair real 2YK (from back then!) in (drumroll!) : dimmed chocking pink!🤭🤩🥳 I love them! The Brown I wear with an electric blue glitter jumper with long sleeves and the otherone with longsleved white t-shirt and a light grey oversized fineknitted jumper, so the white showes both at the neckline and at the wrists! Sometimes I style theese with silver coloured BIG hoops (also from then!) or different sized gold earrings or studs. Agree to a lot of your classics but as a silverblonde ”summer” I’ll go for a light gray or moleskin brown colour instead of camel for the coat! Really appreciate your take on fashion, Leonie! Can’t wait for the next vid! Kiora! Bye from 🇸🇪
Love these items for dressing, I cannot wear extreme trends in any sense - proportion, 4 sizes too big, super bright colours, really shiny, huge bags, teensy bags, barely there tops etc. So these types of items make dressing fun for me. Great vid. ☺
Great video. I have so many of these pieces and wear them alot, sweaters, black converse, basic T and tank, hoop earrings, cropped jackets, cargo pants. I watch trends come and go but really love things that are wearable for years. I never owned skinny jeans and they were the rage for quite some time.
I have always had several pairs of cargo pants. I wear them more often than jeans. They're my jeans alternative. I always wore very basic, military surplus styles & styled them very casually. But I recently bought a satiny pair.
I love my cargo pants. I have the older ones for more than 10 years, and like you, I still wear from time to time. I actually bought a few more recently because they are so on trend.
I personally wear and love and feel best in is the Katherine Hepburn look....or the Ralph Lauren style 💖...So tailored and when fitted right...amazing on everyone💖😘
Love the jackets and coats. Crew neck shirts make me feel choked. I always prefer a v-neck top. As for horizontal stripes- they make EVERYONE look wider. Of course, no one seems to be making vertical striped tops, so these widening stripes are suggested to everyone as a good style option. It's really too bad. Love blazers and all types of sneakers.❤
Hey Leonie, been awhile, I look forward to seeing you doing your try-ons. I step into a thrift shop for a wee bit and came out with only 7 great items, 2 of my favorites was a midi length faux rough texture fur coat that was brown/tan/blond for $19 and then I got a pair of real buckskin BJORNDAL ankle boots with chunky wood mid-height heel. They worked perfect with my wide leg khaki cargo pants, and I wore them yesterday, with a black light knit sweater and my fringe buckskin jacket, to visit my mums. I trying to make an effort to actually wear my items, so putting together looks that don't look like I am going to the gym when I am not. I just don't seem to wear a Converse well the sole doesn't have a good arch and they just have such crazy fit for me. I have a pair but when I was getting ready to wear a pair, I got they were too big, and I am totally disappointed. I like the runner show style because my sneaks are basically for physical activity. Basic; I knew you were going to mention tees, you got to because they just work for everything and every season. I use to put my short sleeves one up during cold season because of trying to reserve them and use the long sleeves one but this year I kept the none fit what tees our to wear under sweater because it helps to give a sweater multiple wear before it needs washing. It been unseasonably warm and its kind of an uplift spirit wise. Enjoyed video. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in this new year.
Love the sneakers trends, especially the bright colors. My favorite trainers are by Ryka because of the energy return, support and fit. They are designed around molds of real women's feet. I. Also like Clarks and Revitalign for comfort, support and variety of materials from velvet, suede, leathers, knits and metallics. A few waterproof hikers and lots of yummy colors. Might have more than 20 tanks because they are so easy to fit under layers that have narrow sleeves. Again, I am attracted to all the yummy colors. Great under sweaters or over bathing suits. Thanks for the reminders about crew necks; I was about to declutter, but now keeping.
Question. Will a cargo pant add extra weight to my legs? I am plus size 16 and have never worn a pair. Same with a wide a wide leg pant. How would I style them? Thank you ❤. Love your videos Jennifer from 🇨🇦 Canada
They definitely don't add extra weight to your legs. If you are daring enough to opt for camo they tend to be even more flattering thanks to the camo pattern confusing the eye. I always say if you're wearing a wide leg pant to style it with something a little more fitted on top - but those pieces def don't have to be figure hugging. How tall are you Jennifer?
Leonie, I love your channel and your point of view. But I am dumbfounded whenever I am reminded that you live in the southern hemisphere. I was born in Australia, but wasn’t there long enough to see how the fashion industry works down there. I am grateful that your episodes align with the seasons where I live (USA), but I know your seasons are opposite to ours. Is it a challenge to find the clothes for your shows in your area? When Fall does arrive in New Zeland, will the styles be the same ones we are currently buying here, or will you be buying the things we will be looking forward to next Fall? The most baffling thought to me is how you were able to run a fashion magazine with those same circumstances. I would love to see an entire episode based on that question. Keep up your fabulous work however you manage it. I love your take and it is reflected in my own wardrobe.
I'm pretty busty with a short neck, so I avoid crew necks in favor of the far more flattering V neck. I'm surprised you believe that the scarf coat is a new classic. I believe scarf coats are just a tread that I'm sure we're going to see pass us by, so I won't be buying one. Give me a beautiful trench coat and silk scarf any day. I do love striped sweaters, fine details like buttons, welt pockets, tailored trousers with a fitted blazer, all are very classic choices. I am loving the new cropped Jackie O lady jackets or button up cardigans and believe they are timeless classics.
Chuck Taylors are Timeless, like a turtleneck, a little black dress and a structured bag. I cannot get on board with cargo pants however, I dislike them with a passion.
Oh i love camel, although dont have anything in that color🤔 i saw such a Nyčės camel coat for a steal price, but i just dont know, its hard to invest in something so rarely worn. Here, in SF, we barely have winter, like this year, its very strange our temperatūres like 54-74 but the humidy its still in 80’s what 😳 so its like 64 but still feel warm. Usually we have some cold weather…. The slip dresses still in right? I have navy from The row . But eyeing one red dress. It was so disscountec , great price i was going to get it, but over night they increased 20% 😂 and it kind of made me mad. Trying to discipline myself, not to buy until it goes down again, but only one av. So dont know 🤔 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Oh Leonie, this was a major miss for me. Idk if it's because I'm a kibbe romantic or just my style choices, but the only "essential" I agreed with is a black/grey/white top. Not all women wear preppy or masculine styles well. I'm short and curvy, like many women. I love the idea of items to not declutter though!
Cargo pants for me? I'm 74 years old, 5’3” 136 lbs. I've never felt I could wear cargo pants, even when younger. Not only am I petite, but my legs are short. I feel they are too bulky... I greatly appreciate the tips for no midriff with a croppe top. One is on my list, but just how to wear it worried me. Now, not so much. Thank you!
no cargo pants for me I am very short and hippy with small waist, I can only wear straight leg or skinny pants, cigarette pants otherwise they all drown me
I thrifted a comfortable woollen cardigan some years ago and I NEVER wore it because it has a camouflage print on it. It has such military connotations to me that I feel awful wearing it and I just take it right off. There's war right across the border from where I live now and that only added to the dislike I have for the print. I haven't parted with the piece only because I need a lot of warm clothing AND it's very difficult to find good quality clothes in my size. I hope I never have to use it for the damn camouflage print...

I don't like the shirt hanging out from under the sweater look for most women, including myself. It highlights the widest part of my body, putting a band right around the hips and lower abdomen. It's a huge "look at me" arrow.
Shirts with dipped hemlines avoid this happening and actually put the focus on the side of your leg which tends to give the illusion of lengthening it. Have you tried this type of shirt?
No, I have not. I think I don't even look at pieces like that anymore,@@Thestyleinsider. For me, those styles look good on slender, taller women, but not those mid-size/mid-height women like me. I'm 5'4" and 155 pounds, wear a size 10/M. It's very hard to shop for women sized like me. We're wide rectangles, that look even wider in most styles.

That is so great to hear Janelle - that's exactly what I hope my videos will do. x

❤agreed. My olive complexion looks sallow in camel and beige tones. Black, navy, grey for the win
Oh my goodness, you look so amazing in this Try on video. You should do these more often you look incredible!!!!
Great video again Leonie very informative and helpful. Love the tip about wearing T-shirt back to front! You definitely have a wealth of knowledge x great to see you trying on pieces too thank you petal x 🌸

I love and usually keep anything denim
Agree, across the board. Love my cargo pants, especially in hot California summer weather. For me, a cooler and more comfortable alternative to jeans.
Totally agree!
I loved your try on! Give us more of that!!!😊❤
Thank you Stephanie - I always feel a little awkward trying on but I will def do more. Thanks for your encouragement. Leonie x
Just thought I’d let you know I follow lots of fashion sites and yours really is my favorite. Not a lot of extra commentary. Our taste is different, but always enjoy your videos. Well done!
Aww that’s very kind thank you 🤩

Excellent advice, as usual. You never fail !!!!! By far the best on da tube !!!!!!
That's very kind June thank you x
As a shortie with an X shape, none of these will ever look good on me. Number one concern of style is how it suits your body and how it fits.
How nice to see you model the pieces.Nice work!
Great video. I love your t-strap shoes!
Thank you! They were from Zara about a year ago and I have worn them SO much x

Loved this video! I agree with everything except cargo pants… they are just not my style but I love them on others. ❤❤❤

Great sweater on you!!!!
Thank you!! I love how oversized and baggy it is x
That is really a classic!
I liked all the pieces you showed! I do have a couple cargos I really like them.
Awesome! Thank you!
My high waisted skinny jeans will never be leaving my wardrobe.
Fair enough too x

I got a pair of black wool cargo pants over a year ago. I love them!!!
Oh wow they sound super interesting x

I’m looking for a white suit, I hope I can find one soon. It has to have a breathable lining, though, not polyester.
I'll keep an eye out for you Kimberly x
I like always wear shirt under sweaters, you don't need to wash them so often, now is trend
Yes especially when you only see a tiny sliver of them x
Leonie, you always provide great fashion insight... You definitely wear leggings well...😊
Oh thank you! x
Hi Leone
Speaking of camo cargo
Please do styling for camo anything please😊
Oh that's a great idea! x
Yes YTubers who imbed ads really irtitate me...Leoni is the only one i havent unsubscribed.
I love your videos...most of your tips are for razor thin gals.

Only 2 pairs of cargo pants, both satin. The satin is what makes them keepers.
Same I've had them maybe 6 years
Ahhh great to hear!
Yes - I agree, always stick to classic statements
I love my converse i have a comme de garcon and a high top. I feel very hip when i wear them with my dresses, skirts or pants
Me too x
Hi Leonie we love you in South Africa. sadly we can't get some of the stuff you showing here .❤
Oh noooooo that's so sad - sorry about that :(
Hi more interested in your T Bar shoes cannot find can you help thanks from Glasgow.
These are an old pair from Zara but I have seen they have some very similar at the moment!
Is the scarf coating similar to a mock neck coat or funnel coat?
I think scarf is attached to coat
Yes I suppose it is similar but it's actually a scarf that you can often detach and wear separately also. x
Camo prints are not allowed in certain countries. You can be arrested for wearing them.

I'd definitely wait for the red dress to go on sale again - finger's crossed it does soon x

Just too much fabric on my frame? Especially the side pockets. I also feel that way about flowy pants. They are beautiful on my 5’10” daughter though!
I greatly appreciate the tips for no midriff with a croppe top. One is on my list, but just how to wear it worried me. Now, not so much.
Thank you!
I have large breast so my go to is a V-neck.
Perfect!
I purchased the scarf coat and the material is terrible. Looks like brown felt. Returning it.
I’ve yet to find the perfect camel coat 🧥

no cargo pants for me I am very short and hippy with small waist, I can only wear straight leg or skinny pants, cigarette pants otherwise they all drown me
Feel like these “classics” are way too heavily influenced by the sponsoring company.
I would avoid all army type styles and prints while the government is looking to force everyone into actual battle.
Where do you live?
I love camo!

It has such military connotations to me that I feel awful wearing it and I just take it right off. There's war right across the border from where I live now and that only added to the dislike I have for the print. I hate crew necks. They make my large chest look even bigger.
The sleeves are too short on those goelia jackets, do you teally wear them like this!?!? It doesn't look good

That was try on. That auto correct!
I adore camel but now my dark brown hair is dark silver Grey I can no longer wear camel😢
I hear you there Linda!
That depends on your skin tone, not just your hair colour. Olive skin tone can still wear camel colour, even with brown silver grey hair usually :)

No to Converse
Definite 👎on cargos for me.
The converse are not attractive. It would be appreciated to have a dedicated video on cargo pants and skirts.
I love my converse but I appreciate that they're not for everyone. Great idea for a video too :)
