Very interesting species! Nice leafs and fantastic flowers. I like the view at 16:00 as well. There you can see much movement of the trunk, see more branches of the tree and see less bulbs from old big cuts. I like the tree!
Great gift. 2nd time trying will bring in more knowledge for you on caring for this magnificent tree. Hard trees are a challenge, but well worth the effort to learn skills for taking care of them. Excellent, Nigel!!!
Lovely tree, something to consider, not sure I have enough humidity indoors though (have no dedicated plant room like you). Anyway I can enjoy the development of yours 😊
That is great timing for me. Got my first powderpuff delivered today. It has been in transit for a few days in dark and around 10c. With your ardvice I may plant it in the terrarium. There just are no other space in my home that are warm and humid all year round.🙂👍
I have a couple Albizia julibrissin, aka silk tree aka mimosa tree. Not sure if you're familiar but they're very similar. I love the flowers, and the way the leaves fold up at night. These ones survive our winters in USDA zone 6 and go dormant. Very cool trees!
I have a big one in my yard and I'm trying to grow one as a bonsai. It's still in its initial development so we will see how it grows in the next few years
19:11 I love this front! Perhaps the current "right hand side" is a more conventional choice, but you are anything but conventional! It reminds me of a rooster puffing out it's chest with wing and tail feathers on full display. The roosters in the yard certainly called their agreement to this.
So how do you know where this tree will backbud? I just picked one up and need some back budding and ramification but don’t know where the new buds will come from.
That's a bold choice for a front. I like it.
Very cool species. I hope it'll still flower even without letting it grow out too much 💮
interesting tree...Looks good...Thanks
I have one of this. Todas I ll learn tô manage it. Thank you. Have a gratidão 2024❤
I like the back as a front...😊

Thanks Tom!!!
This stunning tree screams Brasil to me! I love it! It's definitely a new favorite!
Thank you!
Lisa
Thanks Lisa!!
Very cool tree.
What a nice powderpuff! They are very popular bonsai down here in southeast FL. I'm working on Ficus Religiosa today.
Oh nice!
it really is an amazing species. Very fun to see it in person at the KW show.
It really is!
Nice tree! I never knew there were so many different types of powderpuff.
Nice job Nigel. It is a very sweet little tree now. I look forward to seeing it develop.
You and me both!
I think that tree has a great future with you!! I really like the leaves on that one, and of course the neat alien flowers! LOL
I hope so too!
I find the leaf fronds on these really beautiful. I definitely like where you took this. Cheers
Thanks so much 😊

👍👌👌
Hello Nigel, I think the left hand side looks better as the front of the tree.

Awesome, it should do well in there!!
Nice calliandra :)

I have silk trees in my yard, they're much stronger, than powder-puff, -15°C is OK, they survive.
Those grow wild here in Croatia.

Red Caliandra 👍
I imagine there are different varieties of the mimosa, but where I grew up these trees were considered weeds and eliminated.
Hello Nigel !
What is the brand / model of your transparent cut pasta, please ?
So how do you know where this tree will backbud? I just picked one up and need some back budding and ramification but don’t know where the new buds will come from.
I think Nigel needs a hair pruning. A hard one.
Are you in BC I didn’t know it gets so warm??
No I'm in Ontario!
Hello Nigel
correct scientific name "Calliandra tweediei"
Foist
Luck, pure luck!
Haven't been on the channel in a while. WTF is up with that hair? 🤔😆
I call Nigel the Grey Pineapple now!
