The Friendly Giant!!! Are they little trees or is it a really big person. As I watched this episode Nigel I was reminded of the "feel" of the Friendly Giant. Maybe as a child you too remember watching. How gentle he was and caring of all his animal friends and how he welcomed his little friends, us children. He would set out a rocker here, a chair there and create a warm atmosphere. Thanks for the shows. Gord
That was really nice Nigel @104 The Cedar forest has morning light filtering through it and it looked so much like a memory I had growing up that it brought me back home for a second like a song or a smell does sometimes. Those long shadows on little trees make for one convincing picturesque landscape.
The buddha is so qyoot with the lil' flower! Much better than just the moss! Your choises of stands and all look so good , I'll bet they're one of the stars of the show! 💚💚💚
To grow moss take some and put it in a blender with water. Blend throughly. Iay on a mat with drainage. Perhaps a fine screen. You can get large sheets and all of the same kind .
Great video!! I can’t wait for the kw show, I know it’s not the Toronto show but I have it off form work and all the kids looked after for the day and I cannot wait!!!!!!! BTW your root over temple is definitely going to be a show stopper!! It’s looks really good!
I would think that the moss could be moist enough to keep the little flower "alive" through the show. If not, you can wrap the moist stem of the flower in a tiny bit of cling film.
I'm not a professional at all ..I'm an amateur. Your bonsai are beautiful! I do wonder tho, on your phone forest...I thought you needed to be able to see the main trunk. So would it be better to take out that small tree right in front?
getting moss is the hardest thing for me... i live in new hampshire and every bit of moss i have collected seems to just remain brown, no matter if i soak it or don't. I just can't seem to find moss any other way than when walking around the town i live in. Not sure what to try, not sure if there is a place i can buy better moss online... seems most places sell the preserved moss which is dead.
I'd try collecting it in spring or fall when it is green. Place it in seed trays with bonsai soil and with good watering, it should stay green all year round!
You gotta appreciate Nigel , he is in middle of a zombie apocalypse and still he does daily uploads for us . Love you Nigel have a good day
Dedication against all odds!!! So far I haven't been bitten!
@@TheBonsaiZone you definitely have been bitten by the Bonsai Bug 🌳

Thanks Patricia, when a planting evokes a memory, it's the best compliment I could get!!
Nice Ceder forest. I bet it would look nice in the moonlight. Oil on the pot looking good.
We've had a nice full moon recently, sometimes I go out at night and look at them with a flashlight!

looking good, sir! your trees will rock it at the Toronto Show!
Thanks so much, I hope they look good!!
You should pre decompose some of the reptile bark so that you can add it to your bonsai soil.
Thanks for the video sir 👍😀
Thanks Christopher!!!!
Looking forward for the show and congrats. They are very beautiful prepared.
Thanks Cherie!!!!
I like getting the cheapest top soil from the hardware store, and when sifted makes the perfect little (composted) bark pieces,,,🙂
Great tip! Thanks!
Beautiful collection Nigel. They will be a credit to you at the show.
Thank you kindly!!
Saya rasa ini sangat menyenangkan, banyak pohon bonsai yang bisa di nikmati 👍🏾

Thanks Aaron, the KW show is going to be awesome, I'll be bringing a lot of trees to it!!
Get a little water tube from your florist for the flower Nigel.
Thanks Lisa!!
WOW franken ficus =D
Thanks!!!

It's doing well so far Lisa!! Thanks!
May the force be with you (and Jay)!! They all look great Nigel!
Thanks Candice!!
I'm not a professional at all ..I'm an amateur. Your bonsai are beautiful!
I do wonder tho, on your phone forest...I thought you needed to be able to see the main trunk. So would it be better to take out that small tree right in front?
I have the main tree hiding in the forest so you have to get up close and find the tree, I deliberately have it semi hidden!
What about the two lower branches hanging below the canopy top (one on either side )
Do you plan on making the canopy go that low ?
Yes, I think so!
When and where is the show?
Hello Joanne, it's in Toronto Canada this weekend! Details are in the video description!
What tiny white flower is the buddha holding in the pot?
I'm not sure, it was just growing in one of my bonsai pots!
See ya Saturday!
Yes, bright and early!!! I can't wait to see the fall colours!!
I have a fukien tea tree...I would like too add moss to the pot...what are your thoughts...thanks.for the videos, very helpful.
I think that would be fine, it's hard to keep moss alive indoors unless you have a mini indoor greenhouse and a grow light!
Nice,,, thanks 👍🌹
Thank you too!!!
What’s the best way to grow moss?
Moss requires frequent watering, good light, high humidity and fertilizer to do well!
getting moss is the hardest thing for me... i live in new hampshire and every bit of moss i have collected seems to just remain brown, no matter if i soak it or don't. I just can't seem to find moss any other way than when walking around the town i live in. good video😍
Thank you 🤗
18:57 You forgot the most important thing to bring to a bonsai show - your bonsai trees!
Ha, yes, I hope I don't forget them!!!
Boiled or not boiled? That’s the question when it comes to linseed oil. It’s all in the chemistry. 😎
I'm using boiled!
Arent the front smaller trees in cedar forest Eclipsing main tree ? That multi trunk main tree is not visible properly 🤕
Yes, I wanted you to have to look into the forest to see the main tree and it's features, It's partially hidden on purpose!
@@TheBonsaiZone ohh yaa ...cool perspective. Now i got it.💓✌️
