    Introduction: High Value Research and the Role of Patient Engagement in Clinical Research
    Dr. Sapir-Pichhadze is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, Faculty of Medicine,McGill University and a Clinician Scientist, Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre. Sheobtained her B.Med.Sc and MD from the HebrewUniversity, Jerusalem, Israel. She completed her medical specialization in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and Kidney Transplantation, as well as MSc andPhD at the University of Toronto. The overarching goal of Dr. Sapir-Pichhadze’s research program is to optimize the quantity and quality of lives of patients with kidney disease by identifying genetic determinants of donor and recipient compatibility, optimizing organ allocation schemes, informing personalized surveillance schedules, and establishing individually tailored therapeutic regimens for kidney transplant candidates and recipients.
    Leonard Hodder lives in Brampton, Ontario and works as a Project Manager for his family business. Len is a non-directed living liver and kidney donor, and enjoys volunteering with various organizations, including as a patient partner with the CDTRP, as an advisory committee member for UHN's Centre forLiving Organ Donation, as team lead with the Transplant Ambassador Program, and supporting the staff and patients in the lung transplant physiotherapy room at Toronto General Hospital.
