Lucy Lui looked amazing with her bangs. ANY face shape can wear bangs as long as they are the right kind for your face. Audrey Hepburn had a square face and she looked great with them as well.
Audrey Hepburn did a microbang thing, where the bangs stopped about half an inch to an inch and a half above the brows. It allowed her to keep some facial length.
Audrey’s face definitely wasn’t square shaped. She had a great, prominent jawline, but her length & width weren’t the same. Her face was slightly longer than it was wide. Even then, she always had bangs above her brow line.

Not true, I look HORRIBLE in bangs of all types. 😅😂 But imo it has less to do with the face shape and more to do with features. I have prominent/large facial features. Large eyes, full lips, medium-large nose. Bangs of all kinds make my nose look disproportionately large and slims out my face.
They draw attention to the center of my face, and make my jawline less sharp. I’ve always hated how I look in bangs every time I’ve gotten them, and now I just have the verbiage to explain why lol.
I get why commenters like you get all ruffled up - people don’t like to be told not to do something. And that’s totally fine! Image analysis & style recommendations come from color theory and other artistic techniques/ approaches. So the content can tend to sound very harsh because we’re so used to people pandering to everyone. We’re so used to hearing that everyone looks great in every color and everyone can wear every kind l outfit…
And they can! Just because this stylist says cuz face shape isn’t flattered by bangs doesn’t mean one can’t get them.
Anyone can wear whatever color, clothing lines, hair style they want. Everyone should feel free to express their own style however they like.
But - that doesn’t mean everyone looks great in everything. Our bodies & coloring as human beings are just too diverse for that to be true. And some people purposely wear the “wrong” colors to make a statement and they actually look great doing it because it’s a well-thought out choice.
As for me, I’ve tried almost every bang type and I’ve heated how I looked with all of them. Also, before I ever knew about color seasons, I also hated how I looked in most warm colors. Turns out I’m a winter , so that makes so much sense. I don’t waste money trying to wear burnt orange in fall anymore, as much as I like the color. So I use it in decor instead lol. I used to buy sweater in that color and never ax to ally wear them because I’d putt them on at home and realize I felt “off” somehow. So I’m just not one of those people who feels comfortable going against the grain of their natural features. And that’s okay too. 💁🏻♀️

Square or round faces can look good with bangs it depends by the overall hairstyle and color more imo. E.g: the lavander short hair in the video,with that length (and make up) create a cute,edgy look,it fits that lady. Instead Lucy has spaces between the strands of hair,not a "full" fringe,giving her a dynamic and youthful look.
I actually would argue that bangs are the easiest hairdo to "wear" for most women/girls lol just my opinion though 🤷🏽♀️

From my experience these say absolutely nothing. Bangs can look good or not good on anyone, depending on multiple factors
I think circle faced people look GREAT with bangs!
It can even make your head look longer cause no one can see how short your forehead actually is.

@@SolLang-hk2rs No. I had wispy, curtain bangs and it did not suit me. I think it depends on the face itself, because a bang will put in evidence the middle and lower end of the face. I think I have high visual weight (face) and that is the reason why I looked awful. The high forehead balances out the width of the face. For some weird reason it also aged me. I looked 10 years older with them...
@@margaridamdl sorry but wouldn’t curtain bangs exaggerate your forehead height (aging you) and make your forehead look smaller (making the face look wider) + stopping near cheekbones (also making it appear wider)? i do agree with a wide face and longer forehead its all about balancing forehead length and wideness 🤧
@@SolLang-hk2rs sorry, I didn't explain well. I had them both separately. I agree, curtain bangs made my forehead bigger but the wispy bangs made me look older. Everyone told me I looked older when I asked. Maybe I should have longer wispy bangs than them stopping at the eyebrow, but for someone who uses glasses is not practical. The curtain bangs accentuated the width of my jaw
Round face here, and I love my bangs. Had them as a kid too! I look strange without them 🤷🏼♀️ do whatever you want to your hair. It grows back.
Round faces look great with bangs if there's shape along the sides to narrow the face shape, usually with layers or blowout styles.
I personally use bangs because I have a round face and a high forehead

I wear bangs as I feel I look better with bangs . I think the height of the fore head determines if you look good in bangs . I look plain without bangs as I have a large tall forehead. The length of the bangs have a lot to do with if bangs took good with bangs. I have to keep my bangs right at my eyebrows .

I have an oval face with a very high forehead which *should* be the ideal for bangs but every time I've had them (with long hair) they look terrible! The only time it ever looked cute was when my hair was pixie cut. 😏
I have a round face and getting wispy bangs that can turn into curtain bangs is a life saver. My butterfly cut made it even better because it made my face shape look slimmer.

Soemthing very important that EVERYONE MISSES is top cranial height. Many people with square and rounded faces look amazing with bangs because of a high cranial top, these way it looks like a continuation of your head

I have a diamond face shape and I looked a bit off with regular bangs, but look great with side bangs.
I agree with the bangs on squarish faces but if you go for something more whispery and length everywhere else it can look good and soften the face, like it looks great on Lucy.
There are some people out there with crazy long hair, and then they cut it super short to a bob and it just doesn’t look good.

Tip - if you really love bangs and want to get them badly then, go for see-through bangs. Do not buy or cut your bangs too thick. I bought the thick ones and whenever I wear it I'll look like a joker. 😅😅

It's a very helpful video, I think. But there can be a way to "hack" some situations and wear fringe. Like, I have a small forehead and the lower part of my face is more prominent. I've always thought that fringe doesn't suit me as it makes my forehead look even smaller. But then we tried to start the fringe pretty high on top of the head and made it verrrry layered, not reaching my eyebrows, so it started to elongate my face instead of shortening it. I was very happy with the result, but it required a lot of calculations and literally drawing on my photos. And I still considered the basic principles, like my fringe was asymmetrical as I have diamond face shape and blunt fringe is not my thing.
