She clearly has wavy hair. She doesnt do anything to change her hair texture, shes just adding the proper products for her hair to flourish. Shes not using a bunch of gadgets, or techniques to define anything.
Yes she is…lol just explained how her hair struggles to absorb products…look at her hair before to a person not familiar with hair they could assume it’s straight… There is no “proper product” to create curls besides a perm..:. Products will never “create curls” so I’m not sure who you’re supposed to be calling out with this
@@jerm-gv9rv there are products that will DEFINE curls. Someone like me with straight hair can use this and it will help give volume, or a small wave/curl, but it always returns straight, for curly haired girls it will define the curls, and usually change the pattern. You can see this change with wavy haired girls, and tighter curl girls. For wavy hair those products may make the hair tighter, for tighter curls it makes the coils appear looser. Shes adding the proper products that doesnt do any of that. Its helping her hair hydrate and revealing her natural texture If it weren't dry. Perms force the hair to change textures drastically, and makes it last longer. I hope that makes sense. I wasnt calling anyone out, i was confirming that was her real hair texture
@@-Secretcurl-defining products cannot give waves on straight hair. It just means your hair is wavy and the products are defining it. It cannot change your hair structure. Know the meaning of 'defining'?

I recommend starting off with the Aussie miracle waves products. They're inexpensive and easy peasy, all in one shelf. Grab you a shampoo, conditioner, and a gel or mousse. Try the bowl method (there are many videos) and yes, a diffuser really helps 🙂
Thank you for sharing your experience! I have super curly hair, but for my daughter, it seemed that she had straight hair. That is changing for her, and it's beginning to become obvious that she has waves/loose curls. Your sharing about the many different products you used to find the right ones to make your curls pop has inspired me to support my daughter in finding what works for her curl type. Also, shea in any kind of hair products has always wrecked my scalp, and my hair, so I'm happy to learn that you, too, have this experience.
I too have low porosity hair. SUPER fine, a lot of it, virtually no hair stylist understands my hair and what to really do with it from never using a moisturizing shampoo as it weighs it down and makes my oily scalp drip with oil, to using a lightweight non-silicone conditioner and NEVER on the scalp as will make my hair oily before you can rinse and dry it____it also will NEVER hold ANY style no matter what if it has heavy rich oily products in it. I had beautiful soft towhead curls as a very young kid, it turned to stick straight hair for decades and always fought to curl and keep curled during the Farrah hair then Hair Bands days of the 80s. Now I have the natural wave again but it's not evenly wavy around my head. It's a constant learning curve what to do or not whether I want to try be naturally wavy without frizz or to dry style otherwise.
I NEED TO KNOW WHAT PRODUCTS YOU'RE USING! your hair is beautiful! I have high porosity, wavy hair too but I can never find products that give nice definition.
Me too!!! My hair has a very similar wave pattern. I often just force it to curl with gel and a lot of moose and a lot of scrunching........ But I would love to know what you're using so it could be easier on me and my hair! 😊
Yay!💗 Finally found a gril with WAVY hair, every time I look up stuff to take care of my wavy hair I get a bunch of CURLY which is fine but those tips don't work with my hair like that 😔
I realized this too just a little while ago. I saw a bunch of people realizing their hair was wavy and not straight and what it looks like and I washed it without doing anything to it and sure enough, it was trying to wave. Now I have a haircut to not weigh them down and emphasize them and it’s great. Still working on the product tho I don’t know what ones to get and don’t want to waste my money.
Informative! Even I have wavy hair and shea butter, heavy conditioners don’t work for me, make my hair fall flat and leave it kind of greasy even after shampooing.
The before pictures are very much my hair right now but Im too lazy to do anything to fix it 😭 wouldn't even know where to start tbh. Your hair looks so gorgeous and healthy currently.
I'm a black woman seeing your hair of course Shea moisture is not for you. It is for people with coarse hair . I'm super happy you found your hair identity!
I had pretty much the exact same experience with my hair. In highschool I just cried because I hated how frizzy it was. I’d fry it with a straightener every morning and it would always get weird within a few hours, especially after gym class. I didn’t realize until I stopped using heat and did a completely natural hair care routine that my hair had a shape, and when I started learning how to define my swirls I realized that people literally spend hours to get their hair to look like mine does naturally. I wish I could tell my younger self that and spare myself all the desperation lol
Your before pics look like my hair now 😳 it’s always got a slight wave and is poofy/frizzy when I let it dry naturally. So maybe I need to give wavy hair products a try.
This is interesting because I’ve tried using lighter products on my low porosity hair but it never worked well. I tried shea moisture products and they saved my life. But everyone’s hair and scalp is unique.
@@imden.stake a piece of hair and put it in water. I believe if it absorbs and sinks, it’s high porosity. If it floats, it’s low (takes a long time to get wet) and if it’s in the middle (medium)
Honestly, I just trial and error. Some products are too heavy, some don't do anything. Some don't work if I put too much or too little. Even if I knew some exact measurement of the porosity of my hair, I'd still have to try out the products lol
@@imden.s curly hair - high porosity (You kinda have to have high porosity due to the bends of the hair follicles). straight hair - low porosity usuallyt pososity- pores in your hair follicles-like pores in your skin. So think logically. High porosity means more holes-which means water goes in your hair quickly but also leaves it even faster. Low porosity would be the opposite. Slow to take in, but also slow to escape. basically the difference between a pasta strainer vs a coffee filter. High porosity hair tends to have more damage in general because moisture retention is low. However hair COLOR is also a contributor to hair strength. Lighter hair colors will absorb more UV rays, reflect more light, etc and grow weaker more quickly. Another factor to consider is your follicle shape. Nearly every human on this planet has the same follicle shape though east asians have a tendency for a rarer follicle shape that lends to often stronger and thicker hair strands. then there's genetics and diet. how much oil does your scalp produce because that can either help or inhibit you. Oil may help keep that water moisture in if you have high porosity, but in low porosity hair, this can be a significant issue and you should wash it more often.
I have the same!! Low porosity, very thick, heavy, wavy hair. I want to go wavy, but it is so hard to find someone with this type. I will be watching more.
I have to give this a try, I love my hair after being in a bun overnight, but it does become frizzy 😢 I haven't found any product that works for the frizz without having to do a long routine that I just won't bother doing most of the time..
My hair is wavy too and It doesn't matter how hard I try It just never gets the shape. Would love to see a video of you showing the products with routines and stuff like that
I wonder if maybe you are letting you hair dry too much before you apply product? As soon as I get out of the shower I ring my hair out and throw a tshirt over my hair and twist up my hair for about 15 mins. Any longer than 20 and my hair is too dry and the product I use ends up making my strands frizzy. Like when I scrunch in my curl cream my hair has dried too much so the little sections of waves aren’t thick like they would be if my hair was wet. Does that make sense? But when my hair is more wet and I scrunch in my curl cream, serum and oil (all separately) while my hair is more wet so the strands of waves are thicker and more clumped together, I notice that as my hair dries the waves are way more defined since the little sections of waves were bigger when I applied product. I hope this all made sense, otherwise I’m sorry for typing so much 😂😂😂 basically try doing your product routine but with a little more water in your hair than normal. And if this doesn’t help I’d reassess the products you’re using. I’m assuming you’re white from your pfp so I also assume your hair may be on the finer side. Unless of course you’re ginger and have hay for hair 😂 Courser hair definitely needs a thicker curl cream but lighter serums/oils. Also a nice heavy silicon conditioner would do wonders! If your hair is on the finer side (doesn’t matter how thick or thin/how much hair you have, just the actual strands of hair) then a lighter curl cream, no serum and plenty of light oils like olaplex or jojoba would do wonders! You can apply the oils while your hair is wet and then gently finger some thru once your hair is dry just to try and define some more pieces. Again I hope this helps and I apologize for typing a book 😂 good luck!!!
Ooh another thing, I constantly switch out my shampoo and conditioner based on what my hair seems to need. Some days I do Joico KPak reconstructor along with the Joico Moisture Masque, for bond reinforcement and hydration. Some days I do Matrix Megasleek and that line is LOADED with silicones my hair feels like glass after I use that shampoo and conditioner, but they are quite heavy so I don’t use them often since my hair is on the finer side. But when my hairs feels dry and a little unmanageable the Mega Sleek is 🤌🤌🤌 Then I will sometimes switch to Pattern for coily hair as it’s made for low porosity hair and it’s nice and light but very hydrating, my curls always looks fluffy and shiny after I use those products. Then my last two faves are the redken acidic bond reinforcement line as well as the L’Oréal acidic line. L’Oréal is owned by by redken so the formulas are essentially identical while L’Oréal is way more affordable (and it smells amazing) I switch between all these shampoos and conditioners based on what my hair needs depending on if it’s a little dry if it’s seems to be snapping off if it’s too greasy etc etc. I rarely changed my curly products out of the shower though, I use Joico zero heat crème for course hair since I do have very bleached hair I wanted something a bit heavier, then I switch between olaplex 6 & 9 depending on if I’m gonna be heat styling my hair or not. 6 for natural, 9 for heat styling, then I will use dreamcoat wow spray for heat styling, and always finish off before and after heat with some olaplex 7 and occasionally Sebastian dark oil if I do curls.
You and I have the same exact hair. You have inspired me to hunt for products to bring out my natural waves. I too need more lightweight products rather than heavy butters or oils in my products that weigh my hair down and just make it oily. I’m happy I found your channel!
It’s the hormonal change and how your scalp is producing the hair. It can grow your hair straight and it can grow your hair wavy given the right conditions and nutrition. I realised my hair grow alternately thicker and thinner for each strand that cause it grow wavy. Now I am a lot older, my hair just grow uniformly thinner and less pigmented, and thus straighter.
Dang, I didn't really have any knowledge of hair types and here you are randomly showing up in my feed telling me mine and giving me hope for being able to work with my hair! She has CURLSMITH - Bond Curl Rehab Salve ❤
This was one of the most informative and clearly communicated videos
I NEED TO KNOW WHAT PRODUCTS YOU'RE USING! your hair is beautiful! I have high porosity, wavy hair too but I can never find products that give nice definition.
X60
Yes please I wish she would post her routine
Pretty sure one was Curlsmith. They have fantastic products!
Me too!!! My hair has a very similar wave pattern. I often just force it to curl with gel and a lot of moose and a lot of scrunching........ But I would love to know what you're using so it could be easier on me and my hair! 😊
third comment she mentions them. go look.
Yay!💗 Finally found a gril with WAVY hair, every time I look up stuff to take care of my wavy hair I get a bunch of CURLY which is fine but those tips don't work with my hair like that 😔
This is just about the prettiest hair pattern I have ever seen. So happy every time I see people learning ti love their hair
Whatever you're using makes your hair look stunning!
I LOVE THAT SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER 😍😊 my holy grail. Wavy girlies unite
Informative! Even I have wavy hair and shea butter, heavy conditioners don’t work for me, make my hair fall flat and leave it kind of greasy even after shampooing.
Yeah, those never worked for mine either.
The before pictures are very much my hair right now but Im too lazy to do anything to fix it 😭 wouldn't even know where to start tbh. Your hair looks so gorgeous and healthy currently.
Same
I love how you look more confident in yourself the curlier your hair gets, you are very pretty
You have such beautiful hair! Glad you found something that works for you 🥰
I'm a black woman seeing your hair of course Shea moisture is not for you. It is for people with coarse hair . I'm super happy you found your hair identity!
thinly veiled gatekeeping
Your hair is beautiful also I love the lipsticks they look so pretty on you.
Your hair is beautiful now yes, but I LOVE the shape of your nose! It makes your side profile look unique and strong
I'm in the same boat!!! Really light hair oils and light products for curls work for me.
She has another short on her channel where she shows the products
Tell uss plz!!
We love a baddie queen with her flawless hair and bright lipstick 💄
You go girl ❤
Shea moisture changed their formula that even our tighter coils dont react well to. They started strong but got greedy.
You have stunning hair
I have the same problem. Please share the products
I love that you pick lipstick shades that are in your color season!! Go OFF!! Gorgeous hair AND lips!! 💋
But everyone’s hair and scalp is unique.
yes thats so interesting because it ruined my hair too. my hair was so rough and dry, it felt like sandpaper after using shea moisture.
How can you find out the porosity of your hair?
@@imden.stake a piece of hair and put it in water. I believe if it absorbs and sinks, it’s high porosity. If it floats, it’s low (takes a long time to get wet) and if it’s in the middle (medium)
Honestly, I just trial and error. Some products are too heavy, some don't do anything. Some don't work if I put too much or too little. Even if I knew some exact measurement of the porosity of my hair, I'd still have to try out the products lol
@@imden.s curly hair - high porosity (You kinda have to have high porosity due to the bends of the hair follicles).
straight hair - low porosity usuallyt
pososity- pores in your hair follicles-like pores in your skin.
Plss tell which products you ended up on 🥺 i also hv low porosity hair and am currently struggling
I have the same!! Low porosity, very thick, heavy, wavy hair.
I want to go wavy, but it is so hard to find someone with this type. I will be watching more.
I'm wavy curly too!! Glad to see more videos like this! Shea moisture didnt work for me too 😅
I’m lazy I just use biosilk oil every morning after a shower put it in a bun and within 3hrs let it down and ta-da wavy shiny hair no frizz 😊
Unless of course you’re ginger and have hay for hair 😂
Courser hair definitely needs a thicker curl cream but lighter serums/oils.
But when my hairs feels dry and a little unmanageable the Mega Sleek is 🤌🤌🤌
Then I will sometimes switch to Pattern for coily hair as it’s made for low porosity hair and it’s nice and light but very hydrating, my curls always looks fluffy and shiny after I use those products.
Your hair is gorgeous
You're hair is so beauty! ❤ I can't seem to get my hair styled very well either. Can you do a shower hair styling tutorial with tips please? 🙏
I think this might be my hair!!!
Wait swe have the same hair type
Your hair is so beautiful ❤️
You and I have the same exact hair. You have inspired me to hunt for products to bring out my natural waves. I too need more lightweight products rather than heavy butters or oils in my products that weigh my hair down and just make it oily. I’m happy I found your channel!
In some of those clips your hair looks curly !
What products do you use?
Idk if it’s clickable but I put my linktree in my bio!! But basically I use lots of curlsmith & not your mothers products :)
I have soft curly hair but if I let them be curly they're unmanageable, so I just brush them out and they become wavy-like
Wow, gorgeous hair!
Wait a damn minute- 👁️👄👁️
What
What?
@@Moxie_life just that my hair and her hair before using the right products look awfully similar
Girl you're GORGEOUS 😍😭
It’s the hormonal change and how your scalp is producing the hair. It can grow your hair straight and it can grow your hair wavy given the right conditions and nutrition. I realised my hair grow alternately thicker and thinner for each strand that cause it grow wavy. Now I am a lot older, my hair just grow uniformly thinner and less pigmented, and thus straighter.
I love your hair.
Dang, I didn't really have any knowledge of hair types and here you are randomly showing up in my feed telling me mine and giving me hope for being able to work with my hair! Thank you 😂
Reminds me of when I got to find out my vocal range in a very obvious way that led to me being able to discern what songs I could realistically sing and find the right keys to sing them in for me.
There’s a *Shade of Red for Everyone. Tone is more important than color and Shame on the mean comment regarding her lipstick. She’s Lovely and can play around with any colors she wants to to find her perfect shades* 💋❣️
omg you looked like jasmine in that greenish blue outfittttt
Why are you so beautiful omg😭😭😭😭✨✨✨✨
Your hair is beautiful
Omg yesss shea moisture is probably a really good product for most curly haired girls, but defssss not for mine 🥲 this was the extra encouraged I needed to keep looking around!
Beautiful hair!!!
Girl you are so gorgeous I can't get over it- and your hair is INCREDIBLE 😍🤌
You have beautiful hair. I had the same hair experience. I didn’t know I had curly hair, all my life it was frizzy. So I fought it and used heating tools to curl or straighten it. But with all the information out there to teach me what to to, I learned more about my hair.
You've got absolutely gorgeous hair so envious
Sooooo pretty!
absolutely gorgeous hair!
THANK YOU just like you, I’ve been treating my hair as straight for years and I’ve just recently realized it’s wavy and I’m learning to take care of it but it’s been very difficult and you’re the first wavy hair creator I’ve come across! New follower! ❤️
