I'm 49 year male and just got a ReCerf (Ceramic on Ceramic) done in Canada. 6 weeks later - I'm doing 45 min of stairs for cardio, in the gym lifting weights. Getting metallosis from the MOM implants is about 1 in 5000 chance. Doctor had to get permission from the Canadian government to use the implant as it is not approved here yet. India will have the implant approved in June 2021.

Was it done by Dr John Anthoniou? I'm in Ontario and he's the only one who provides ceramic in Canada. It looks private. If you could message me privately with costs, how the ceramic has held up and any other info that would be great. I've had 3 hip scopes and the joint is not repairable without a resurfacing

did they use cement or glue with this procedure I know the H1 does not use either. Why are doctors here in the US not all over this and continue to insist on using products that many are allergic to or get Metallosis from this inferior product we use tell me $$ is behind our lack of care for mankind's health.

extremely jealous. We don't have this in the USA and won't for a long time. I will probably be in a wheelchair for YEARS before I get to do this. I am so happy about this and I wish that something more could be done NOW. It is frustrating to know this beautiful device exists but that I and others can't access it.

wow we need this in the USA, what can we do or anyone have any ideas how is the progress coming along with getting it approved in USA? where to go for this? London? Canada? which doctors do it? I'm in Connecticut, and would like to know if I can go somewhere to get this instead of Total hip replacement. Is it limited to certain femur head sizes?

    • @unasmith113

You can contact the Imperial College of London directly, as I have. As of a month ago they are expecting approval in the UK in a couple of months. It will be another six months after approval until they manufacture the devices, produce packaging, tools, etc., and are ready to start implanting devices.
You would have to go to the UK however to get the procedure done.
I'm in Mass and I'm wondering if I should wait, or get the metal on metal procedure done either in NYC or South Carolina.
