God Bless Mike and all the great shows he put on in the 80s and 90s. But the mind won’t be his problem. The problem will be his body. I’m almost 50 and I go through it. If they were the same age it would be an easy first round knockout. But Father Time is undefeated. He’s so gifted to even feel good enough to get in there at his age. Huge respect win or lose. Love you Mike.
I get what you're saying but he's a multi millionaire with all the best degrees of training and supplements. He is nothing like you, you will never be similar or understand the level of presence he is.
You are not thinking and working on a professional athletes level. You have to understand that this man and most professional athletes are the same. They have unwavering dedication and a work rate like very few do. Doesn’t matter if he’s 50 or 60, look at the shape he is in. Look at all of the cardio he has been doing for months. Mike Tyson is still Mike Tyson. Regardless of age. That monster is still inside of him and if he unleashes it… it’s going to be pretty for Jake Paul.
You have to understand, that when Mike lost the fights that he did when he was still fighting professionally… He had lost his drive, dedication, and most importantly… His physique and cardio. He was just going through the paces, but the beast inside had dissolved. He wasn’t the same person. The way he has been training, dieting and I’m sure taking some testosterone replacement… Not to mention all of the hard work in the gym and the ring, getting back into shape… He is getting ready for this.
My original concern was that all of this was a farce and it was essentially a show so that they both could make a ton of money. But if that were the case, why would Tyson go through all of the hard work he has? I could see him maybe slimming down and putting on some muscle… But he is going the extra mile for everything. Which makes me think that he wants to truly knock Jake Paul out in order to retire on top. Show that if he wanted to, he could probably come back and do well. regardless of who he is fighting and their age.
This is a professionally sanctioned fight now. They are wearing 14 ounce gloves, which are in between the regular 12 ounce and the sparring 16 ounce. But no headgear. The rounds are going to be two minutes long, which I think is only going to benefit Tyson. As, it’s going to allow him to essentially continuously throw punch after punch each round and not get tired. I guarantee after the first headshot or kidney shot that Jake Paul gets… He’s going to want to fall down on that mat and not get back up. God help him if he pisses Mike off for whatever reason. If Jake Paul head butts him or elbows him… he is going to unleash the beast.
Now I still worry that this Is all staged in order to make them both a ton of money… though I think people are going to see right through it, and if they recognize any attempt at pulling punches or anything else… It’s going to be bad for both of them. It’s going to destroy both of their reputations and probably their livelihoods. Because nobody’s ever going to look at them the same or trust them ever again. Mike is going to ruin his legacy. Jake would probably never be booked again and I’m sure he would lose a ton of followers. Same with Mike. Because they have built this up to a point where, if it isn’t a real fight… There is going to be such backlash that it could not only ruin the both of them, but the sport of boxing altogether.
I hope for both of their sakes, that they have an all out brawl and get it over with. Whoever wins, wins, and they move on. Because the alternative is a complete devastation of everything they both built up over the past 10+ years. Not to mention, a public backlash that will follow them both for the rest of their lives.

I'm 60 now. When I was about 25 I knew a former professional fighter who was about 50 at that time. He told me that if you could last 30 seconds with him you could beat him. But you would have to last that 30 seconds. And in them, you would go through hell.

The only advantage Jake has in this is his Age. And Father time is still undefeated. It is truly hard to believe that it was 38 years ago that Tyson became the youngest Heavyweight champion ever. His run of brutal dominance back then was insane. His training by Cuz and Kevin Rooney was unbelievable, and the mind games that Cuz used on him is just scary. Is old man strength real? I believe it is. Does Mike move AS quick as he did almost 40 years ago? No. Is he still quick enough for a guy like Jake Paul? I think so. I agree when he fought Roy it looked like they did not want to take each others heads off. Those guys had a lot of respect for each other and there was no real reason to damage one another. If this is REAL, and fought as a REAL fight like they claim it will be...i wouldnt want to be Jakes rib cage.
I hope Mike wins, even though that guy literally has nothing to prove at this point. But this is how i look at it.....
I am in my mid 40's, not even close to being in fighting shape, and have not been in a boxing ring in close to 30 years. I would fight Jake tomorrow for $20 grand, sure, i would lose, but i wouldnt be worried about truly being injured. I wouldn't fight Tyson for any amount of money, because not only would losing be a guarantee, permanent damage may occur.
