    I really commend you for taking those photos, it's a very brave thing to do. I'm in my early 50s and hate how my skin is starting to look. I appreciate your product reviews because it's so hard to invest in a product and then find out it either doesn't work or there's something better at a more affordable price. I think women over fifty should strive to look the best they can and not be inhibited about age. I've been writing about and posting pictures on my blog and Instagram account about how to remain dressing fun and trendy at 50-something. Your videos are inspiring, you look great!

This is, again, something I'm going to be adding to my routine thanks to you. I'm not yet over 50 (36), but I do have crepey skin and laxity issues from losing a large amount of weight. Angie~ Thank you so much for your videos. It was you that made me start caring for my skin! After many years of sun worshiping, I when I hit around 46, I gave up and said "it is what it is". But, about 6 months ago I stumbled upon one of your videos, bought many of your holy grails (Timeless products, Retin A, Chanel foundation, etc.) and my skin is turning around for the better! Now that I am starting to feel better about myself, I have stopped wearing frumpy clothes, and have put the dang ole hair scrunchies away. As I'm typing this, I'm thinking that you could put a lot of therapists out of business!! LOL. I just followed your link and started my Amazon subscription for the Alfa Skin body lotion. Thanks again and again.

    Walgreens has a dupe for the ALPHA HYDROX face cream, 8% acid, I think it is? 12 or 8......... Just test it in a small patch first, because AHA can cause irritation if you're not used to it, I don't remember if it has avocado oil, in case anyone is allergic. But it's really great!

I’m going to be 60 in less than two weeks 😲! There is no one on you tube that compares in my humble opinion ❤️❤️❤️! PS: please know how beautiful you are, your freckled, (slightly) less than perfect body is the result of laying in the sun with friends, lol & talking about boys 🤪, waiting for the radio to tell us to roll over.....you’re an example to us all to be the best we can be at every age! Sarah, I took a spot off my arm with compound W. (I have a video.) It has come back a little..so I need to do it again.
      Also, the retinol lotion has decreased my KP on my arms.

      Thanks, i will try that. The spot is about the size of a pencil eraser. It gets darker when i self tan but is barely noticeable when im not tan. Im 32 and i gave up on the sun in my early 20s!

    Thank you Angie, for experimenting on yourself and guiding us to the best products. So if we use the glycolic (which I will), do we put spf all over our body after the glycolic? You are using it in the AM, right? What SPF would you recommend for the body as some of the SPF's that you like would be too expensive for all over the body. Thank you!

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Good god NO, those mineral face sunscreens are way too expensive to use on the body!! I use a standard chemical sunscreen for body. My fave is Banana Boat Sport Ultra SPF 50. I use the moisturizer after I shower in the morning, but it can be used in the evening instead.

      This reply is great, ha. I'm still trying to figure out what in the flip I can use on my neck that won't irritate it! I know you have the same issue and have been back and forth. Can you tell me what you have decided on? Can you use the glycolic there - or are you still using something else? I feel like my skin is pretty tough overall, but my neck is SOOOOOOOO sensitive! Frustration central! I thought I saw you recommend a retinol OTC product for the neck, but I can't remember which it was. Thanks in advance.

      @janie2375 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lori I have the same problem with my neck, so sensitive! Ugh! I think it was a cerave skin renewing skin serum that she uses on her neck but my neck can't even tolerate that! :( I think I may try the glycolic since I'm going to buy it anyway for my arms and legs!

  • @alohaleslie9407

    Aloha Angie! This is a very impressive video. Thanks so much for your dedication. My legs have always been one of my very best and sexiest "features" but I have to say now that I'm near my 70 year mark, I have to admit I cover them up more often than not. So sad...mostly because I really don't like my vanity regarding my crepey skin, something so trivial in the big scheme of things. I really do admire women who go out with arms a flapping and legs a waving in the breeze full on. That is confidence in and embracing their True Feminity. I keep working on it. Getting better.... thanks again!!!!

    Any advice for crepe eye lids?

    • @TinyTitan50
      @TinyTitan50 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree... is the glycolic good for the face? Over the retinal?

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Based on this experiment, I might start recommending glycolic acid over OTC retinol for the face, but neither should be used directly on the eyelids. The best thing for my crepey lids has been using prescription Retin-A for the last 4 years. I don't put it on my lids, but a tiny (non-irritating) amount of it gets smeared there when I put my next serum or moisturizer over it (and put that on my lids)!

    Hi Angie,
    Thank you for addressing the problem of "crepey skin." You are a beautiful, well-spoken, honest consumer for beauty products. I give credence to your opinion.
    Don't like looking @ my extremities being a more mature person than yourself. Appreciate that you thought of others & was brave to expose yourself to us in order to make others feel that much better about themselves and the aging process. Happy to see that Alpha Skin Care Renewal lotion showed a noticeable + difference since it was cheaper than the other product.
    I am interested in purchasing the Tria age-defying laser. I would like your thoughts on it. I hear pros & cons (one being that the battery dies within ?1-3 years.) Where it's pricey $400, I wanted your advice. I don't wish to visit M.D.'s office & this point.
    Again, thank you Angie.

    Hey Angie, you're doing a great job with making video's of products/methods that are of real interest to us. Sometimes they're of subjects I'd never even considered, like this one. I love the way you keep it very simple & straight forward, especially by not "babbling" on about random issues not related to the subject - as I've noticed on other video's for women over 50. Also appreciate the links to the products that you use. Thanks for it all & please keep up the good work.

    First let me say that you are looking fantastic Angie, the years seem to be falling away and I'm sure that many others would totally agree. This video is really great and at 4 mos short of 70 the skin on my body needs help. I will certainly give it a try, probably the glycolic because of the price difference. Thanks for going out of your comfort zone in showing these before and afters, seeing is so much more helpful than just hearing someone's verbal recommendations! 🤗
