Even Elvis emulated him when singing Return To Sender. In the 1970's he suffered a Brain Hemorrhage and became a Vegetable. His Guardian took care of him out of her own pocket and for many years DJ Casey Kasem paid homage to him during December. He too was from Detroit, MI. In the UK he is still revered. In 2001 Will Young who became the first Pop Idol sang I Get The Sweetest Feeling during The Live auditions and Reet Petite was made into a Cartoon by a Company called Claymation and Last Year on a UK Show called The Greatest Dancer, a Same Sex Couple danced to Reet Petite.
