That has to be one of the smallest crowds ever to watch a continental nations final - having Egypt knocked out in the semi-finals probably had a lot to do with the poor attendance.

The great Zambian team of the 70s. The legendary Godfrey Ucar Chitalu who scored 107 goals in one season ( 1972-1973) the same season Gerd Muller scored a 85 goals. He was part of this team but couldnt play the fina due to Injury.According to us africans he holds the record for most goals scored in one season and not Lionel Messi.
I wouldn't call Zambia's team in the 70's great... Far from it.

Caeser Sakala Great teams in the 70's were West Germany, Holland, Brazil, Poland and Argentina... But it's all relative I guess, if you compare the team Zambia had with only African teams maybe they were "great".
Exactly that team was nowhere near the class of the likes of brazil and Germany.But we hold them dear and hoist them high as a great team by African standards
