They are pretty chill when it comes to that 90 mins time limit in Chicago. Timer starts when the first plate arrives at the table and you can order up until the end of that 90 mins.

The Bistro Hanger Steak is my favorite cut off their lowest tier ACYE and lunch special menu, an tender and flavorful cut of meat. I usually just get the lunch special and upgrade the rice to bibimbap, makes for an excellent meal at half the price of the AYCE.

I raise scottish highland cattle - Essentially the lesser known (albeit leaner!) wagyu. Because the cattle have a hairy fur layer, the don't develop a surface fat, and distribute their fat into marbling. However, in terms of cholesterol and fat, the meat is similar to chicken. So beefy tasting and rich. So delicious!
All that to say, I'm waiting for the day I can have Mike over for a steak! Let me know when you come to Montreal friend!

Ohhhhh! You were so close! Right next door to that bubble tea place is Sushi Tomi, which is one of the best sushi bars I've ever been in that wasn't trying to be huge and fancy. It's very unpretentious but the fish is uncommonly excellent. It's a must whenever I'm in Orlando.

  • @jaredhammaker8312

For anyone reading this, he is totally wrong about the time limits. I've been to this specific location multiple times. It's 90 minutes for ORDERING. And not an hour, whatever he said. And you don't have to magically inhale everything on your table in that time. 90 minutes...to order. I've never left here remotely hungry, you'd have to be some kind of freak to not get your fill, or else just so slow that you shouldn't be doing this anyway.
And basically it's the same as at any buffet, time limit or no, they don't want you to waste lots of food. If you leave a little, they're not jerks about it.
Oh, and they always change the grill. I missed it but someone else here said that he explicitly told them not to (probably thought it would waste time). They're totally fine with changing it. We always get it changed once by the end so it's not coated and nasty.
He does such minimal research or understanding anymore, just spouts bad info because he can't take the time to comprehend anything.

I agree with you (at least for the most part). when my friends and I ate there we definitely stayed on our seats for at least 2 hours for eating and a bit more to chat. at some point (and especially when it's crowded) the meats came a bit slowly after a few times ordering it 😂
but yes, 90 mins isn't the time limit to do everything, just for the ordering.

    • @Ryan-do2lx
      @Ryan-do2lx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

I agree with you, too. I work at a restaurant he visited before and this guy didn’t even leave a tip. He was comped his entire meal and he couldn’t even leave a $1 lol. I know he brings business to the restaurants with his videos, but that doesn’t mean you can’t leave a tip for the hard working waiter/waitress. What a joke.

I went to the location in Montreal and had a great time. I didn't go for all you can eat but the bbq pieces were amazing, i got hangar steak and some sort of marinated pork. I also got the beef bibimbop sukiyaki bowl and it was incredibly flavorful. Seriously no lack of flavor at these restaurants. Funny enough our grill was very hot and cooked my thin pieces of meat in under a minute so it could have just been a flaw of that location! Prices were beyond amazing for a bbq place. 10/10 recommend

I actually work there and we don't really enforce the time limit that hard unless it's like a pretty busy day or you've been there for 2 hours, I give my customers 90 minutes to order food, no rush, and always delay the desserts up until they finish eating the meats unless they tell me otherwise. Another thing is that this guys eats A LOT, 1 ramen 1 bibimbap and 2 meats would knock me out however he went for 4 rounds of meat, that and DESSERT WTH. But yeah if u a normal person don't worry too much about it, you'll be fine.

I think my only gripe when it comes to AYCE menus is that I really don't care about how extensive the menu is. At the end of the day, you end up sticking to the few dishes/cuts that taste the best. I rarely go to AYCE bbq's for anything else other than the meats anyhow, and I usually just stick with beef belly/toro, large intestines, and skirt steak (if they have it). Because of this, I think I'd rather stick to cheaper KBBQ rather than places like Gyu Kaku. Just seems way too pricey for minimum 45$ per person for the lowest tier one. Not to mention their strict rules.
Now, if they also offered proper wagyu cuts, then that's maybe one reason I'd want to go to Gyu Kaku.

The Gyu-Kaku (multiple restaurants) in Singapore is pretty awesome. cost like SGD 100++ per pax, for AYCE Wagyu. 90 mins though

you can ask them to turn the fire on or you can do it yourself (I dont know they allow it or not but I did it). And you can ask them to change the new grill

This is my one of my fave AYCE restaurants in Toronto! Didn't know their chain is international. Toronto is a bit more generous though, we have 2hr limit. Surprised they don't have the amazing Cumin Chili Spice powder that we have in Toronto there!

OMG you finally did one on my FAV restaurant. I just visited the one in Beverly Hills/LA last week while on a work trip. I always visit whenever the city I am in has one. The Orlando location is new, I just moved from Florida last year. I can tell you the experience isn't the same as it was in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, where I'm originally from. However I freaking love it! It's the freaking best! PS what is that chili oil in the spicy cabbage salad and the steamed chili dumplings? Someone give me the secret!

Oh man. I used to love Gyu Kaku but the ones in Southern California stopped offering AYCE years ago so I stopped going, the a la carte doesn't seem as worth it. I gotta see if there's some locations offering it again, I miss this place so much.
Mike next time you're in Vegas, check out 888 Japanese BBQ!

Mike you should go back there and have them REMOVE the cover on the grill.. the metqlcthing that has those circle holes on the inner side.. those prevent the air from circulating properly. BELIEVE ME IT MAKES A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENCE
