I have been dreaming of this game concept for over a decade now. I can’t believe someone is finally making it, and that it actually looks pretty good!

I am unbelievably excited for this game and didn't think it was anywhere NEAR this level of completeness, this is great!

Very nice I might have to give this a go since they have custom characters! Also have you considered playing wasteland 2 or 3?

I feel kind of obligated to have a wild hairdo in a 40k game. I don't want to be having dinner with Planetary Governor Korvathalonius Ambulopterix XVIIth, and I'm Lord Captain Bill Smith from planet Ohio, y'know?

If you want to understand 40K, imagine sci-fi Dragon Age where all spirits are demons, interspecies relations are even worse, humans are united in a fascist cult of personality, and the Blight are soccer hooligans.

Half the tattoos and implants are under your hair, and the Assassin, vanguard, and hunter are upgraded classes you get when you complete your main class at level 20. Level goes up to 40 in this.

    the imperium is very feudalistioc
best way describe the imperium is a freudal theocracy with a church at the top and nobles and blood duty just below it so much heirchy everyone has a better above them its all about order
    the church run everything
planets are run by govenors and barons some nobles even have mechs aka the knight houses who are feudal lords who run their own feudal planets under the imperium they pass these mech suits down through the generations

The Church isn't at the top exactly. Highest authority are the High Lords on Terra, with the 12 most important ones being essentially the heads of the most important pillars of the Imperium. So essentialyl the head of the Ecclesiarchy (the Church), the administrative bureacracy, the regular military, the Inquisition (secret police effectively) etc.
Planetary and sector governments tend to be hereditary local nobility, and the Imperium at large tends to be kinda hands-off in day to day affairs. Basically, local rulers can do whatever so long as they obey imperial law and pay their assigned tax quotas, have a duty to defend their holdings and can expect military aid when confronted with a threat bigger than what they can handle.
Rogue Traders are essentially people given a ship and a warrant that allows them to leave the Imperium and go trading and exploring and essentially do whatever they want outside the borders, so long as they can at least vaguely justify it as somehow benefitting the Imperiums' interests, up to and including founding or conquering their own little empires. Most warrants have more specific duties or limitations included. The Von Valancius warrant doesn't. Also, it's an original one. As in, unlike most warrants at this point, this one was literally signed by the God-Emperor while he was still walking among mortals, ~10,000 years ago. So, basically, you have *written permission from God* to do nearly whatever the fuck you want outside or at the edges of the Imperium. And your warrant is literally a holy relic.
