    What I am learning is that I have much to learn in regards to ASL. I have a very hard time reading fingerspelling -- so fast! But the good news is that I understood most of this video which is a good thing. Thank you for your time/effort in making this video! It's helpful.

    Wait this really helped me, I'm in ASL3 at my university and fingerspelling is the one thing I struggle with. people always say look at the hand structure, not the letter but have never laid it out like this. thank you so much

    @supernerd47 - How many times did you watch this video to get all those? lol- I am fluent in ASL and I would have had to have her repeat it, as I don't know what the heck any of those are. It's all good, in the real world that many unfimilar words in a row are unlikly.

      Yes. I've started watching the news in ASL. Two words I can think of that are like nonsense words are Pflugerville Texas and a man's named Draylen. This was very good practice for intermediate to Advanced fingers spellers.

    You did an excellent job on helping us novices with understanding FS a lot more better.. I like your method of the 3-C's and your explanation on how to do it the correct way. We need more of your helpful videos, where can I view more?

    It looks like the point is letter recognition rather than word recognition, which could be helpful.

    Hey! Thanks so much for the awesome advice! Just because I am learning can I ask: did you use "Don't forget" for "memorize"?

    At one point shes spelling very quickly, is that the speed that experts and people comfortable with ASL actually spell with or was she going fast just as a test, oh and nice video :)

    I happen to agree with with Erika Escobar. This is a fix it quick sceem that in the end will harm your skill more than help it.

    3:42 I understand that you didn't provide subtitles for when you spelled words, but even after the spelling the subtitles did not resume.

      They were not. They were nonsense words, to mimic what we will see in real life. I started watching ASL news and they regularly fingerspell words that are not real, like people's names & the names of cities and companies.

    Is there a reason why you are spelling random words that have NO meaning and don't exist??

  • @sponsellerfd
    @sponsellerfd 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @MissTwiggy1963 Take a class. But that might just make it worse for you as well. If you didn't understand this, go to a basic lesson and don't criticize what you don't know about.
    Thank you.
