Excellent video. Would you mid sharing what that 00 brush you use from 3:50 onwards please? Ive seen detail sets that has an included one look like that on amazon and ebay but there seems a massive price difference. I dont want to waste money on buying a set thats rubbish, have you got a set you could recommend? Im in UK too btw
Hi, I have been watching your painting videos to try and learn how to paint a border collie. My brother-in-law had to say goodbye to his best friend of 14 years and it hit the whole family very hard. I would like to paint a portrait of Justice for him but I normally paint landscapes and flowers. Can I ask you how many layers you end up doing on a border collie portrait? With the timelapse, I can't figure it out. LOL! Thank you for sharing your talent with the TH-cam world.
There's usually about three main layers. The blocking in layer, the modelling layer and then the final detailed layer. You can watch each layer in progress in my pug tutorial series that is in three parts for each layer.
I paint what people commission me to paint as this is what pays my bills. The vast majority of people want dogs so that is what I do and I make these videos out of them. I have painted other animals and would again if commissioned to do so. I have a cat on the list but no gorillas. I'm not sure I feel particularly drawn to doing gorillas as a painting anyway. I prefer painting certain kinds of animal over others for sure.
