    One of the best instructional videos I’ve seen for pollack fishing off the rocks - very informative and covers all bases - top notch 👏👏

    Trying to intimidate a sandeel? shouldn’t be too hard you’re much bigger than they are. 😆

    The lighthouse on that promontory looks identical to the Bailey lighthouse here in Howth, Dublin. I thought it was for a second. Also a good spot for pollack, coalies and bass. What's it like for wrasse there at Strumble? Oh BTW, you meant imitate?

    • @bengriffithsseaangling2138
      @bengriffithsseaangling2138  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just had a Google, definitely looks like the Bailey lighthouse! Cracking spot for pollack, also great for big conger if bottom fishing, some monsters off there. Definitely meant to say imitate!! You can fish for wrasse at your feet there, there are some good ones about, just will have a lot of pollock to contend with!

    What tides do you find best for the Pollock mate ? Been fishing strumble over high tide but blanked a few times there

    • @bengriffithsseaangling2138
      @bengriffithsseaangling2138  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve found it fishes well on a high on a big spring tide. Issue with that I find though is some of the waves there can be a little sketchy! I usually try 2-3 days before or after a big spring - where are you fishing at Strumble?

      @@bengriffithsseaangling2138 yeah it is pretty exposed and tide runs really quick past the island, cheers for that, although I did fish it at that tide the other day and only got a wrasse 🤣 usually just to down by the bird watching hut, I did go over to the right to a nice spot but when I checked on a sea mapping chart it was actually much shallower than my usual spot !

      @@jordanhughes6768 I know where you are roughly, find that good for maccies! Thing I find with the other spot is there seems to be an abundance of kelp etc which they seem to love - if you ever want me to show you where give me a bell!

    A black or silver lure works best for Pollock, the secret news is a copper lure gets yoy cod

  • @henrywheeler6715
    @henrywheeler6715 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How deep are you wanting the lure to go?

    • @bengriffithsseaangling2138
      @bengriffithsseaangling2138  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s the million dollar question! It really depends, but generally pollack are found quite deep. I’d perhaps try using a weedless lure, let it sink to the bottom then bring the lure a few turns up. Work it back to you then with small twitches of the lure! Keep trying this, working your way up the water collum until you pick up some fish! Keep trying and eventually you’ll get it! Best of luck
