Yesterday a moonbreon sold for 1800$ and right after a damaged one for 900$ so we are seeing the price reflect on collectr because of cards that are damaged, LP, MP, etc
There has been no change in the amount of MP, dmg etc variations of the cards. Those are factored in even when moonbreon’s price was climbing. Now the price is however dipping. Might not happen now, but at some point the price of moonbreon will be crashing down due to the extreme supply of psa10s. Unsure why my comment was deleted. Collectr uses eBay last sold data. The price they show for raw cards is basically for NM, nothing else. When eBay sold data shows 900$ for damaged and 1200$ for a LP/MP you can be sure it affects collectrs pricing. When I bought a very old card, I’m talking 1-2 sales per year on eBay, it changed the price on collectr to the price I paid on eBay. Before that the price was stagnant.
You're exactly right! I just commented about recent sales of a ton of damaged Moonbreons affecting the market on TCG Player & Ebay & Collectr@@ThiccShaxx
Armored Mewtwo at $100 is still insanely cheap. It didn't come in a tin just a couple of years ago lol, 2019 was 6 years ago, and that Fall 2019 Collector's chest is largely considered one of the greatest Pokemon products ever released. You're a little off on some of these.
Ehhh, someone sold 3 copies of Umbreon for $1,000, hence the correction. However, at the moment, the cheapest you can get an Umbreon for is $1,500 on TCG Player. This is not a crash in the price, just a bug in how Collectr works because one person either panicked and sold or faked a sale to bait people into selling their copy.

Jessie and James was undervalued for sure, but you're right that the market's mostly in a bubble. Celebrations was WAY undervalued and is just now starting to trend up organically after almost 4 years. Moonbreon to me is a massive bubble though. Entirely too many moonbreons out there to ever maintain even half its current value.
The lightbulb went off for me… 😅I was wondering why all my (5) copies of Giovanni’s Charisma shot up lol smh I suppose the question is - what do I do now ?
Ungraded copies of prices that are all over the place. A really nice copy goes for about $1700 but a bad copy goes for about 1200. Maybe people are buying up the bad copies hoping they can treat the card?
I'd keep an eye on economic news as it ties into collecting pretty hard. Price dip could be easily explained by panic offloading of assets due to the potential issues with the international trade agreements that have been headline news in the US. Assets with rapidly-shifting values (cards) tend to go first.
Good! People only have so much money, the lower the cost the better in my opinion. People always say bruhh I can't 3x my money, I actually prefer that. I'll just buy low and hold on to cards for years, not a problem for me at all. I just sold some cards I was holding for 10 years, I have the patience, lot of these flippers don't.
There looks like some funny business on TCGP. A $4.99 sale, a bunch at 1k. Might be to manipulate local stores that auto updates off TCGP prices to pick up and flip.
The market didn't crash. There isn't gonna be a bad set this year. Singles can be very volatile and it's just that. Graded cards and sealed product is still increasing.
“There isnt going to be s bad set this year” when you haven’t seen anything past JT…if they make a Team Rocket set with all Gen 9 it would be ass like Shrouded Fable… I remember back at then end of XY, S&M, and SWSH everyone said the new eras could never drop or be disliked and every time the start of new eras were despised until years later…..
@@ZardLife1989 Pokemon is not gonna do that. you're crazy if you think so. They didn't do it with JT. Also it's a given that later sets in an era are loaded
I like cards having high value but we don’t need 1 card being soo high or even multiple cards in a set that the average pack price is double triple quadruple msrp.
Did you just say Armored Mewtwo came in a $25 tin at Target just a couple of years ago? Dude, 2019 was 6 years ago and that 2019 Fall collector's chest is regarded as one of the best products from the last decade, period. Your Japanese Mario Pikachu came is a $50 box just a couple years ago. That's completely irrelevant when everyone wants it, and demand outstrips supply almost immediately.
I FOMO’d on the mewtube, but only because I never see that card in my area and a local lgs had one.. 🙈 it’s such a cool card and far more likely than me pulling one if I gamble on some equally expensive shining legends boxes
I stand by my temporal forces statement, still my favorite page in the binder. Pokemon media can trigger mini manic episodes and cause an impulsive purchase, but interests aren't dictated by media. Tho sometimes less well-known sets get spikes in publicity through media
"The Pokémon card market is so hard to manipulate" as he just showed the result of market manipulation of the Moonbreon where the market manipulator likely bought out the entire stock of Moonbreons in his local area for $400 profits on an immediate flip.
Trading card games follow the macro heavily. Most collectible assets like Pokemon fall faster when any macro situation occurs. This last weekend crypto fell and generally the market has dropped over the last week. The next 2 months are going to be boring but after that expect a rise in everything
During December everything spiked and went crazy and alot of prices will go down as the Holidays are over and people aren't spending like crazy, many will sell to reCoop their money.
Pretty sure it has everything to do with demand shifting to the new sunbreon. Less to do with TH-cam videos. People are selling moonbreon for less to free up cash to buy sunbreon
I think the flying and surfing pikachu vmaxes from celebration is crazily slept on..yea they’re easy to pull..but so were those eevee evolution cards from generation.
To be fair, test tube Mewtwo from Shining Legends is now catching up the Latias and Latios alt art because that Mewtwo card might be the greatest artwork of all time and most collectors know that cards is the most underrated card in Pokemon tcg history. That one is an organic rise in value.
@ The Mewtube in a PSA 10 has rocketed all the way to $2500 recently, which really hasn't happened to any other card. Still very affordable raw though, yes
A group or an individual is manipulating the market so they can scoop up more as newbies to TCGplayer will think it dipped and list it at around that price. It will go back up to $1700-1800 shortly.
It's not a correction or a crash. PEOPLE KEEP SELLING AND BUYING DAMAGED MOONBREONS ON TCG PLAYER AND IT'S MANIPULATING THE MARKET. WATCH IT GO BACK UP.
I bought 300 penny stocks ähh cards of deoxys AR for 68yen each 5months ago. Mostly because I wanted to make a binder of just that card. Now people are paying $5 for that card. It s just funny how even "trash" cards are gaining value rn. Once this settles a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money. Most AR you buy rn are up 10x-50x and I know people who have 1k+ of a certain AR/IR card. They just sell 10% into the booming market to get their costbasis back. The rest will stay in their "collection" until they need money. Same probably happened to higher end cards and someone is trying to cash out. I could imagine someone owning ~100 umbreon Vmax with a CB of ~$300-400. They only need to sell 30copies or so to have 0 CB.
It is interesting to look at how the hobby has fallen down in the last few months, especially from the perspective of a collector that took a break with collecting. I just refuse to pay obscene prices for cards, least of all to people who wandered into this hobby by accident (the crypto crowd). But not to worry, they will leave as a crash is inevitable, it happens every once in a while. It is a cycle :)

It is, and once the reprint hits hard for PE and possibly other sets, then it will be time to load up.
why should the evo skies moonbreon go back to 2k if the new prismatic umbreon stays at this high value
I aint selling none of my stuff.. im just a collector that likes to look at the binders
Ungraded copies of prices that are all over the place. A really nice copy goes for about $1700 but a bad copy goes for about 1200. Maybe people are buying up the bad copies hoping they can treat the card?
Do you have collectible Insurance? If so which one?
I'd keep an eye on economic news as it ties into collecting pretty hard. Price dip could be easily explained by panic offloading of assets due to the potential issues with the international trade agreements that have been headline news in the US. Assets with rapidly-shifting values (cards) tend to go first.
Good! People only have so much money, the lower the cost the better in my opinion. People always say bruhh I can't 3x my money, I actually prefer that. I'll just buy low and hold on to cards for years, not a problem for me at all. I just sold some cards I was holding for 10 years, I have the patience, lot of these flippers don't.
graded didn't crash
I don't think a lot of people realized there's probably 50,000 ENG Moonbreons out there.
I remember buying the Solgaleo and Lunala GX because you recommended it years ago and I picked it up for $20 back in 2021
There looks like some funny business on TCGP.
@ And actually we do know what comes after lol
I like cards having high value but we don’t need 1 card being soo high or even multiple cards in a set that the average pack price is double triple quadruple msrp.
Did you just say Armored Mewtwo came in a $25 tin at Target just a couple of years ago? Dude, 2019 was 6 years ago and that 2019 Fall collector's chest is regarded as one of the best products from the last decade, period. Your Japanese Mario Pikachu came is a $50 box just a couple years ago. That's completely irrelevant when everyone wants it, and demand outstrips supply almost immediately.
“My portfolio” I almost puked at that.
A portfolio is just another word for a collection of things.
@ I’m so used to hearing that word used for investments that it was instinctive. But you right. Mb
Bro it just jumped back up to 1500 lmao, I also seen it at 1200 this morning and I guess someone was tryna make it look cheaper
Im done with buying new cards n packs in the hobby until the market dies down. Market is too crazy ATM lol.
Thank you for being self aware, as influencers can drive hype around sets and certain cards.
I FOMO’d on the mewtube, but only because I never see that card in my area and a local lgs had one.. 🙈 it’s such a cool card and far more likely than me pulling one if I gamble on some equally expensive shining legends boxes
Milkbreon with more than 15k+ PSA 10s, will crash down sooner or later even a blind person can see this from a distance.
I sold 3 of my Beckett Greninja fairly quick. It's the best looking card of Shrouded. I have no doubt it can go above 300
I stand by my temporal forces statement, still my favorite page in the binder. Pokemon media can trigger mini manic episodes and cause an impulsive purchase, but interests aren't dictated by media. Tho sometimes less well-known sets get spikes in publicity through media
Its from a scam artist on TCG Player! He has a listing sold for $4.99 for the moonbreon and than a couple $1000 sales than got himself banned
There’s talk of mkt manipulation on tcgplayer for Umbreon…that could be the dip
why are you speculating that the Market has already crashed? 😂 kind of a weird take bro
But it´s not only speculating (I think). It can also be genuine interest.
Not even a little bit. Fake posts on tcgplayer are causing the moonbreon to decline.
Mewtube is fucking awesome! This card deserves the price, first Pokemon Card I would personally call AltArt !
8:23 All graded slabs are "buying labels" by this logic. The premium on the BL is determined by market forces, prices are high due to less supply.
No sealed items showing any decrease in price at the moment uhhhhh yeah
Why do you think it’s one person or a group buying out the Giovanni and it’s not just organically selling out? Any proof it’s manipulated?
During December everything spiked and went crazy and alot of prices will go down as the Holidays are over and people aren't spending like crazy, many will sell to reCoop their money.
Umbreon sold on eBay in Ireland 2 days ago for €608.
not a crash at all. Also some of the cards dipping a bit is due to collectors selling off because of the spike lol. All of them will level out.
Agree, that Mewtube is incredible‼️😈✨️
isn't the latios latias tag team sitting around $1300? the mewtube is rising into the 300s range, which, to be fair, is happening to a lot of cards
@ The Mewtube in a PSA 10 has rocketed all the way to $2500 recently, which really hasn't happened to any other card. Still very affordable raw though, yes
And my psa graded unbreon copies, that i brought for £400 each 2 years ago, still look a great investment 😁
A group or an individual is manipulating the market so they can scoop up more as newbies to TCGplayer will think it dipped and list it at around that price. It will go back up to $1700-1800 shortly.
The “speculation hype” is always bigger than release date hype. The second rocket set is on shelves these cards will all dip dramatically. Sell now.
It's not a correction or a crash. PEOPLE KEEP SELLING AND BUYING DAMAGED MOONBREONS ON TCG PLAYER AND IT'S MANIPULATING THE MARKET. WATCH IT GO BACK UP.
Not crash, more like a pause. Wait until april everything will go up. Just like last year this is the time to BUY and you sell during April-december
Working purely off Collectr and not looking at eBay sold (what’s tracking) to see what sold so cheap is not helpful ❤
Hoping the fakes disappear too. I was looking into purchasing a new single, but seeing how many made me feel uneasy :(
This is natural with anything that jumps up in price, ebs and flows. Wouldnt listen to anyones investibg advice who doesnt get that.
I was always trying to get the jessie and james when it was $20 but am a budget collector so i decided not to and now it a big regret
3.31 reminded me of shinedown lyrics 😂
Damn, and I thought I was high 😂😅
Clearly Jake is Twice Baked 😂 🥔 💨
It is interesting to look at how the hobby has fallen down in the last few months, especially from the perspective of a collector that took a break with collecting. I just refuse to pay obscene prices for cards, least of all to people who wandered into this hobby by accident (the crypto crowd). But not to worry, they will leave as a crash is inevitable, it happens every once in a while. It is a cycle :)
You need to stop “investing” in Pokemon cards. Pokemon cards are not an investment, you will lose money
someone bought a few LP/Damaged copies of the moonbreon and everyone thinks it dropped. It did not. NM raw copy is still $1700.
the collectr chart is not accurate at all though and is super buggy....
“A self fulfilling prophecy” 😂😂
Yea nothing to do with popularity, and the fact they’re bringing back old pokemon and trainers as the often do?
Advertising your collection on the internet seems like an awful idea imo
I left a negative comment but after watching the entire video removed it. This is actually a good video.
Respect
Love the content and the information as always, thank you again Jake
Jake starts to lose his dignity with these kind of videos😢
