@@Ziegeri I don't think you understand the complexity of PoE builds let alone implementing/migrating something like PoB into the game. And btw, when PoE launched GGG's development team was probably like 1/4 the size of people involved in designing this new D4 class.

I had the same thought midway through, but the sad reality is that this is probably 60% of the max runtime cinematics they produce can be before they turn to shit. Anything requiring actual story or in depth thought falls apart, hence why the trailers are good. They would do well with one-off short stories where leaving things more open ended actually works.

@@TheBurningcage27 How exactly does melee not suck when the game itself sucks? If we're comparing campaign experience, yeah, barbarian leveling for the first time is cool, but other than that the game is sub-par to every other game of the genre out there.

They have rarely gotten melee into a okay state, only to nerf it into oblivion.
The only hope people had was POE2 and they admitted they used RANGER as the foundational class and are basing the movement on wasd type.

POE just showed everything... this stream was only about the new class, not the expansion.
we still have to see:
- The Raid
- New Skills for old classes
- level cap increase, more skill points
- new world boss
- the revamp of the paragon boards
- Mercenary System with own skills
and more which doest got leaked.

they probably balancing out the classes per stats. 2 int, 1 dex, 1 willpower/str, 1 str. they wanted more dex.

The main character should have never let her out of their sight. It was a lack of common sense from the main character, because she has been nothing but a rebel teenager the whole game.

You can have a dark gritty theme and still make it so people can see what's going on. There are more colors than red and black. D2 was dark and gritty while having an easy to read game.
you can highlight your character in game menu so it is easilly visible for players who prefer it

Did you guys see the new POE league announcement trailer? They really outdid themselves. The only thing Diablo 4 has over POE is the cut-scenes.
Crossplay regular updates and gamepass is also a plus. Also WASD movement

Less complexity, better cinematics, WASD movement, better melee combat, cross play - Diablo is still superior in many ways to the broad masses of players who do not want to theorycraft and spend a lot of time on complex systems but just get in there.

This actually makes sense, never thought about the “social and cultural” implications of what a “witch doctor” represents. DEI WD lmao
i thik its not DEI, but gameplay loop. They probably expect people to enjoy fast paced gameplay loop combination of jaguar/bird and that's why they chose it. I played Witch doctor in d3 and I get it why they are not that popular.
I think my biggest problem with diablo 4 as well as 3 is that all the abilities between classes feel like the same crap but with a different skin on it. This is an arcade machine designed to milk you for money.
the saddest part that idk if Asmongold noticed is that this spirit dude is literally monk from D3 with a different skin to all of this abilities lol give or take 1 or 2 abilities
I was about to say the Spiritborn seems to be a reskinned monk from D3 but I wasn't 100% sure about the similarities.

Play Diablo 2 act 3 you see all the meso american styled stuff.... now the area on the map we are going to is in that styled area.... even in Diablo 2 there wasn't really any " Holy like feel to that location" it would feel so out of place to put a paladin in this expansion.

“Spirit born” reminds me of “veilguard”, seems lame naming conventions are in full swing.
It's not a summoner class, but a high-mobility melee mage with extra steps. The "summons" are not controllable or have AI, they are just area effects.
No paladins but spirit person... It would've been more creative to make a "dark paladin" that uses demon/satanic power against the hordes of evil.

yea she was pretty uninteresting through the story. literally just a random person without much character, yet we let her make a major decision at the end of the game, and it turns out to be a bad choice. welp, looks like shes going to either become some crazy demon we kill, or someone we have to save in the dlc.

I should have guessed Blizzard would do something that asinine. Only bought the game on discount when S4 released and now I won't be wasting a penny on the expansion. Not just because of the woke storytelling but because D4 is the most unbalanced Diablo game they have ever released.
I leveled each class this season to 100 and the disparity in power is disgusting. They have no idea what they are doing. The skill tree is overly simple. The paragon board is overly convoluted. The loot and the endgame are boring. It's just a giant step down from D2 and even D3. Blizzard is a joke. Maybe they should try hiring some actual talent. Then again, no one in their right mind would want to work there.

Because you can't just stop playing games you don't like. It's going to be the same story with PoE, I swear. It's not 2013, it's ten years past. A lot of things have happened to games in those ten years, and PoE is no exception. Dude, did you follow Blizzard developer videos and diaries before d4 came out? Do you remember the level of hype? I do. And you're making that mistake again, believing in these PoE gameplay trailers that definitely won't be downgraded and most of the mechanics will be killed and turned into garbage. As it's happened many times before. Just end this toxic relantionship with Diablo, find another game. Enjoy it. Good luck.

i was really dead sure, that a shield class melee would be set for the expansion. I mean... you got shields already in game, only for necros as stat-token. But not one Melee class with shield bash or anything... that seemed so so obvious for a first expansion.... i don't know what they're thinking

the idea of the class is perfectly fine. The issue is their stubborn refusal to give a holy themed class. That's the only thing that will save the game in the eyes of players at this point. Give us back the high heavens, angels and a holy class. Anything else prior to that is cool on it's on but it just looks like rearranging deck chairs on the titanic
It just makes sense, even if it isn't a paladin, what about a Priest/Priestess? Something that uses Holy damage, seeing as your v demons.
I don't think anyone believes a paladin class will "save the game" it would just be ...cool.

Heard a lot about how this class's abilities work. They have 5 builder abilities, only one of them is good because it applies Vulnerability and hits multiple targets.
Then they have a bunch of abilities that spend their resource that they build with the builders, and some of their abilities are on cooldowns.
It's nuts man I dunno how they thought of it, so unique compared to the other classes that are all also very unique.
I’m torn because I used to play paladin & crusader. But as a Curandero (Quiché Maya Healer) who’s Guatemalan, I’m not only surprised, but extremely excited that they actually did a “Mayan” type character. I’m 34 and have played since Diablo 1. Never expected that.

I would recommend actually trying the game again. The latest season fixed a lot of the issues we saw initially, so the end game loop and itemization is actually enjoyable. I didn't play since launch but I was pleasantly surprised.

@37thgungrunts I'll answer for him. It's DEI because of the simple fact that this does not follow lore. No matter how you sell it or cut it. During the initial invasion of the prime evils, where were these guys? Are we to assume that all three of the prime evils existing at the same time is less of a threat than what is going on now because they didn't show during those events? Of course not. They were added for the convenience of introducing another perciveably underrepresented people. Just for the sake of adding it. They went entirely against what the fan base asked for just so an equally DEI artist can flex. And it's bad. It's a reskinned monk made by lazy game devs. And before you make the argument that Paladins are extinct in lore, Barbarians are too. Arreat got nuked when Tyrael cast Azurewrath into the Worldstone.

I uniquely feel like every time I die in D4 it’s BS. It’s always a large chain CC, random after death effect, or some other mechanic you couldn’t see. There’s never difficult content you’re struggling to maintain health and end up losing to the core content. You’re at full health in cruise control, then you’re dead. I feel like if you enjoy hardcore in D4 something is wrong with you.
The reason we don’t have Paladin is because Blizzard said this is a Sanctuary that the High Heavens have all but abandoned. I’m hoping this will be the first Diablo with more than 1 expansion and we get more of what’s going on in the next expansion and also get a Paladin.
Favorite part was seeing the same enemies and dungeons in a new area that's behind a pay wall lmao

@@maisiesmydog5194 It shouldn't be "some new enemies". It's a new area with a completely different theme, it should be all new enemies. That open world was full of reused enemies.
@@menmauzumaki5931 it doesn't need an entire new set of enemies. If the kahzra and undead are jungle themed, theyre just fine being in nahantu. If nahantu had none of the same enemies, it would feel out of place from the rest of sanctuary, since even though there's diversity in the landscape, the enemies aren't different. Wanting the new area to have entirely unique enemies is unrealistic
