Worst Time to Visit Japan "OBON", Showing How Crowded It is in Dotonbori, Namba, Osaka!

- Obon is a traditional Japanese event to welcome the sprits of ancestors, and usually people get a few days of vacation during the Obon period.
Therefore, the town gets super crowded, so Obon (August 13th to August 16th week) is one of the worst time to visit Japan. It's like the Goldenweek (Early May)
Compare to Goldenweek, Obon is in summer, so super hot and humid but there are long lines everywhere.
In this video I tried to show you how crowded it is, and also how it looks like in Dotonbori food street, and Hozenji Yokocho in Namba, Osaka😉
Of course if you like crowd, you can choose those days to travel Japan, but I recommend to choose other days though.

When I come to Japan in aug 2013. It was on obon holiday. Every place is so crowded. A lot of traffic jam (we use bus as a tourists group). But we still enjoyed Japan in that super hot temperature . And definitely will come back again after this corona virus has vanished.

We literally are here in osaka from aug 12 to 16. We didnt know.. universal studios line was hell. Dotonbori sooo much people. Damn obon. You shouldve made this video sooner!

I did notice that there’s hardly any bins/trash cans while I was visiting Japan. Even some combini don’t have a place to throw trash! 😱

Even locals have hard time to find trash cans, so for sure travelers will have hard time to find it...
Yup,,, that's right, since people cannot find trash cans on the street, many people go to combini for trash,
so some combini in the popular street, they don't have trash can😂,,,

@@RionIshida I'm from New York City it gets pretty cold but I love it so much especially during Christmas. That's why I will travel in Autumn or February to Japan my birthday, treat to myself.

I'd definitely feel the same was I in your place!! I'm having a FOMO feeling right now (9 days of holiday and I'm not traveling 🥺)... Yet, a quick train trip to visit a friend that also lives in the countryside (plus multiple searches of flight tickets) made me very unlikely to leave home to either spend a lot of money on a flight or endure many hours of crowded local trains/stations to check equally crowded touristic attractions... I so wish I could work now and have a holiday week when everyone else is working 😆

Well I have seen crowds in Delhi chandni chowk and all 😂 this much is like minimum daily turnover it's too crowded but the food is usually cheaper in such place because there are so many restaurants closeby having similar dishes that they need to be competitive too. I would still prefer going to a more known place because the food is very more delicious compared to the other new ones who are still learning.

so many people but price is good and taste good as well (since it's really competitive).

Usually there are so many people in everywhere in Obon, even in countryside as well..🤔
but if you go to less people place (such as Hozenji yokocho), it's still better.
However, if you visit some place where families can go, usually there will be a super long line😂😂😂.
