- I went to a Japanese maid cafe in Osaka with my friend Mi chan, and it was one of the most fun things that I've done in Japan. It is a cafe/restaurant where they have servers that dress up as anime style maids, and they give you lots of KAWAII energy. Once you go to the place, it is much more fun and natural than how it sounds on paper, so I highly recommend visiting one in Japan!

Having worked in the service energy myself, I am just blown away at the amount of emotional energy this must take to put on such a show for EVERY SINGLE TABLE you serve on a long and exhausting shift. I hope they find moments where they are genuinely having fun playing the character, but man, it is hard just to constantly smile and be friendly when you are hustling long hours, for little pay, and every day you deal with at least one shitty person. The vibe of the restaurant seems positive and good, but I can't imagine the amount of energy this takes. Such a high degree of professionalism, I hope they are compensated well

I think you are mistaken unless you worked in hospitality. Its not the same. Real maids have to act like you own them so even if they dislike you they put on the act. Worked in the field and i had to cook and clean for old people. Job paid well at least.
That job pays well don't bullshit, plus they probably won't get shitty coustomers cuz they are their for the maids and to have fun

Doubt every maid has their own merch. Its a part time job at best. No one wants to stay a maid their whole life
@@chaikagaz Perhaps when they get to a certain level? I saw it in another YT video 📹 They have their photos 📸 reproduced and you can buy them as well as I think I saw like photo keychains etc.I know they have 3 floors and employ about 500 maids at a time so you are correct 😁
@@chaikagazyou'd be surprised lol, those legendary maids have been there for 10+ years; they have more opportunities though since they're so high up, like TV appearances and interviews. And every maid does have merch, they just have to be at a certain level to gain said individual merch. Working in a maid cafe isn't for those driven by money but by those who genuinely want to entertain guests!
@@chaikagaz the at home cafe maids are also an idol group btw, if you look at their official youtube channel they release original music (with music videos, and dance practices) and perform at idol conventions as well, so their fandom base just got bigger with wotas going to the cafe to see their maid oshis and with that comes merch, I guess each maid becomes a member of the idol group when they are promoted to premium and thats where they get their own merch, so yeh it adds as a bigger reason for these maids to stay longer.

These girls are doing an incredible job. Takes a lot out of a person to constantly bring this high energy to work and make it seem legit. I get they are working and must behave like this, but they do a great job of actually selling it and making it fun. Their attitude is everything that makes these maidcafes work, so well done girls!!! Looked like a lot of fun.

Amazing content as always, Jimmy. I did get to a maid café a couple years ago in Arcadia and tried to livestream at the time. It was fun at Asayoru Maid Café but the stream didn't save properly. Sad 😢. I hope I can return before they move to a bigger location.

I really love watching your content and wanted to say: do the silly things! Embrace whatever comes to you!! You do not need to feel shame at all having fun! Mi-chan is so comfortable in her own skin whatever she does and looks like she is awesome to hang out with! There is literally nothing you need to proof by saying so many times how you woulndt normally do this or anything, we know that of course and it does not make a difference.. the opposite is true! By doing stuff like this sometimed without shame and owning it will actually make you much more secure and manly! I know its much to ask but once i stopped giving a fuck and be comfortable doing silly things or stopped trying so hard to defend my manliness, i felt much better and i got so much positive feedback from friends and partners! l want to share my experience as a half Japanese and Half Filipina who work in one of maid cafes in Akihabara,I'm an otaku thats why l want badly to work in maid cafe to experience what l saw in anime.Its quite fun and exciting l enjoyed working at maid cafes many foreigner especially from the europe and american to visit in akihabara to go to maid cafes and want to take pictures.At first l must be super cute,do make up and regularly take care of my skin and diet in order to meet the expectation of the boss and customers,I go under training on how to approach customers in a cute way and treat them as a valuable customer "ご主人様/お姫様"。l'm super shy at first and l forgot to stick in my character,After many weeks l get used to it and theres a montly/Weekend ranking between my senior and other new maids...Months ago like 7 l quit because l can't meet the expectation to become a worthy maid no one wants me to quit l leave l didn't even go up in my ranking l only experience ranking up until l go 3 months working but over all is all good and l currently here in Philippines plan to make business bring japan culture to Philippines.
