GM should of allowed the 6.2L+ 10-speed in all the trims, Trail Boss and RST go up to LTZ, and that dampening system should of been available as a option not just exclusive to the Denali.

Love the rebel. I've had a '14 and now an '18 1500 express but one day I would love to get a rebel. Imo I don't like the new ram logo. It looks like if you saw a low polygon versions of it in a video game.

I just bought(waiting for it to be unloaded from the train) one with the Rebel 12 package which give it leather and the 12inch radio with Harmon/Kardon 19 speaker system + 9 more speakers + sub. Msrp 59,400. Out the door I got it for 7% below dealer invoice. I have to drive 6 hrs to get it but local dealers said they would lose money at the price I got.. :D
A couple things I noticed since I work for Ram... This truck does come standard without air suspension, your tester just happened to have it. Also, there is now a Ram rebel 12 which is much more luxurious and features the 12" inch infotainment screen that everyone loves!
You never want all your controls tied to a screen. Problem with the screen means problems with everything. I’ll take a solid crisp 8 inch screen with physical buttons for climate and radio over a 12 inch all encompassing touch screen any day. That 12 inch screen is just a gimmick. Trust me it’s great for showing people. It will not be as nice to live with every day.
@@nkyryry I have a 12 inch screen, the climate controls are along the side of it, you don't need to use the screen. Save for heated seats in the front(rear seats have buttons for it).

Think about how we could damn near text a whole convo without looking on the old Nokia phones from back in the day!? Well you can't feel & do that without looking on a touchscreen. We will see how reliable the 12 inch screen will be. If its crap then have Google, Samsung or make it for ya with Alpine speakers
Constructive review from a Toyota guy - A friend of mine picked up a rebel earlier this year and I've got to admit that it really stood apart. Luxurious, packed full of tech, and genuinely impressive on & off road. We took a trip to Blue Ridge, GA and we had nothing but good things to say by the end of it. As for the cons, there's still a few hangups we couldn't get around. The first being a 3 week stay at the dealership for steering/suspension issues (somewhat expected for a new release). The engine shut-off is, and will continue to be, an infuriating feature on most new trucks with little fuel benefit. This of course brings up the question of longevity and reliability (you knew it was coming). Then there's resell and depreciation. It's incredibly disheartening to learn that the truck value plummets at such an alarming rate. Beyond the expected "new" depreciation factor that's expected on any new release, I can't help but question the KBB and NADA for how they evaluate these values. At any rate, I really enjoyed the truck. Look forward to watching the platform continue to grow.
Talk to a friend that his Hyundai has been in the shop for the most part for 4 months now. And the warranty is shit because they don’t like passing it onto the next owner and really it just a 6yr 60 thousand mile warranty they said it been 3 different things now and they keep charging him to fix it. He up to 25 hundred now. They are clueless to what it wrong and any other dealership doesn’t want to touch it.
Agreed. I think people are alittle skeptical that they are with fiat but to be honest Chrysler hasn't been better since. You see so many rams and jeeps on the road now verses even 5-8 years ago
Ram has always been the brand to set the bar, look at the 1994 Ram vs. any other brand that year. Then look at the 1995 trucks and notice how they took notes from Ram.
On of my favorite things about the Rebel has always been that the whole interior like the headliner being black. It makes it way cooler than that light brown in other cars and trucks.
Oddly, I had one of these (base model) earlier this week as a rental and gotta say, I was quite impressed with it and its interior. That thing handled like a car and the ride was so smooth. I've never considered myself a truck person, but damned if it didn't start finding its way onto my short list of potentials. Nice review and thanks for posting.
I’ve had my 2019 Rebel for about 6 months and I love it! No regrets! I have already added a 3.5 inch ReadyLift kit, Borla S-Type Exhaust, 35 inch Mickey Thompson ATZ tires and 20 inch Fuel Off-road Rebel wheels
I rented one of these from Enterprise for two days to pick up a bunch of car parts all over the state of Florida a few years back, instantly fell in love with it, definitely on my list for pickup truck purchase.
I drive an Audi S6 and have driven German "sport" cars forever, but I'd trade it in in a Deutscher Sekunde for one of these Rebels. Well done, Ram! (never thought I'd say that) Great review highlighting all its features as well, fellas.
In Canada the Air Ride is bad. -20C and colder temps can ruin the whole system. My Dad had to take his in 3 times at the beginning of this year. On 2 of those occasions the whole suspension had to be replaced and there was a long wait time for repair because of a lack of spare parts. Also every time my Dad took his in there was at least one other Ram with the same problem in the shop. DO NOT BY A RAM WITH AIR SUSPENSION IF YOU LIVE IN CANADA!
I live in Quebec and often have temps lower than -20C and never had a problem with my 2015 Outdoorsman with Air Suspension. That's why I purchased my new 2019Rebel with Air Ride again.
Just bought this truck a month ago, and I LOVE IT! A little context about my background; last truck I owned was back in 2002 (Frontier), so it's been a while since I have seen what new trucks are like. I have never owned a domestic product; personal taste thing, nothing against domestic products. I have always had German cars, specifically sports cars, so performance and aesthetics are important to me. Wanted to get that out of the way so whoever is reading will have an idea on my subjective opinions. So, I cross shopped others first before checking the Rebel out last. I originally wanted a Raptor, but then started thinking, meh, I see about 4 or 5 a day on the road here, plus, although the Raptor is a great looking truck (exterior), great performance, I will be paying a premium for a capability it has that no other truck has and I will never use in the North East which is desert running, so the money wasn't worth it for me when other trucks I am cross shopping have pretty much the same off-roading capabilities, for about 15K less. I drove the 2020 PRO4X, did not like the way it handled, and did not like that transmission; otherwise, looks wise and interior wasn't too bad (a lot of plastic though), but didn't justify the price of mid $50K in my opinion with the materials inside (for me, anything over $50K better have a quality interior). Obviously as you can see, the interior is important to me since it's where I spend my time, so I want to feel good and enjoy where I am at. Next up was the Tundra TRD; even though it's a very capable truck, that interior was straight out of 2000's that I had in my 2002 Frontier. Chevy is not really my style of truck, I don't like the squared wheel wells, nor do I like the interior of it; however, a very capable off-roader. Never really thought about RAM trucks until now. I didn't realize the re-did the RAMs, so in my mind, it was the old plain style looking truck. Did some research on the Rebel's capabilities, and it checked every mark for me. So, it was time to go see it in person. I saw the Rebel and immediately loved the unique look. I sat inside of it and immediately knew that if this thing drives well, this is the one I am buying. Took it for a drive....well you know the rest. It was the absolute full package for me from performance to aesthetics.
I don't like trucks, but I have to admit it's pretty crazy how good they are getting. When you consider the interior and all the details it almost makes these things good value. The problem is trucks have gone so far up in price that $50-$60k US is possible if you go crazy with the trims. If you really want I think you can get trims that are near $80k!!!!
check out the laramie longhorn and limited trims which are top teir, its ridiculous. I have a new Laramie and it beats out most lower end luxury cars that costs several thousands more.
Guys, love your videos - always will. However, I just want to say one thing. Please don't exceed 2 commercials, especially in a 12 minute video. In a 20 minute video I wouldn't have noticed, but Cadillac just yelled at me 3 times about their new Xt4 in 8 minutes. As a fellow TH-camr, I get it and commercials are a big part of how we make our living, but I don't want you guys to tarnish the wonderful viewing experience you guys have been building for years. Just don't want to see you guys lose any subs - I WANT TO SEE YOU AT A MILLION! Keep it up gents!
I just purchased a 2019 Ram Rebel 12... This truck amazing, I have been driving a Jeep Wrangler JKU for the last 10+ years and this Ram is the best of both worlds. AAA++
I am a truck guy and for almost the past 10 years I’ve been a Ford guy, but RAM really hit it out of the ball park. Looks amazing, great features, etc strongly considering one in a year or two (or the Jeep gladiator)

I just bought a 2020 Rebel. I absolutely love it. I love the Ram Boxes. It's like having a secure trunk on the truck. They are so practical. I use them all the time. The red accents on the interior are awesome! They look so sharp and cool. It almost has a cool 1950s aesthetic interior feel with the red and the instrument cluster gauges, which I absolutely love stylistically. A marvelously designed truck both inside and out. I haven't taken it off-road yet, but so far I love everything about the Ram Rebel.

I am absolutely not a truck or suv guy (trucks are waaaaaaaay better than suvs though). I am a small sports car, wagon, and sports sedan guy. This truck......this truck makes me want it. I have zero rational use for THIS MUCH truck, but I want this truck because it's a pretty amazing package for on road use. I know it is hilariously more than I'd need to trailer my Miata to the track....but it's just so effin cool. Great review. Great job Dodge!!!

Great review - Been liking the 2019 Ram line up and sorting through all the video's to help my decision. !st one I've seen on the Rebel. I have positive thoughts from the Tradesman to the limited. I may have to decline the air suspension since possible repairs to it would suck. Love the crew and the Hemi, open to everything else. I have a 17' Silverado LT DBL and will be looking to replace in about 12-18 months.
Reserved a car for a road trip, including a trip to Yosemite. They didn't have my class of car available, so they offered me one of these as a free upgrade. It was a blast to drive, pretty comfortable, mileage was decent and the 8 speed trans was perfect. The v8 came in handy climbing the near 10,000 foot tioga pass. Good job ram

1:00 I don't know if it's just me, or maybe it was meant to be designed that way, but the new grill actually looks like an abstract head of a ram. The section with the "RAM" badge is like the head, and the other part that wraps around it is like the big horns that go from the top of the head to the sides. Anyone else see it?

Dudes, I REALLY appreciate that you mentioned the armrest-to-steering wheel relationship, the driving position, and the wheel telescope in this truck. I drive rental cars almost year-round for work and so many manufacturers are TERRIBLE at driving position ergonomics. Small cars especially, probably for packaging reasons, seem to be designed for people with 2-foot legs and 4-foot arms and it drives me insane. A Toyota Corolla for example is so uncomfortable to me because my legs are scrunched and my arms are outstretched because the steering wheel needs another 4 inches of telescope, minimum. Hyundai does great. The only Ford I'll drive is the F-150 oddly enough. Nissan is good. Most other companies' driving positions are complete trash. I'm a 5'10", 170 pound dude...on the slim side, sure, but I'm not short and I don't have wonky ass limbs or anything. Pretty normal, but most cars are infuriatingly uncomfortable because they're designed for ogres or amputees and lack adjustment for normal people. I support further critiques of driving positions by Yuri, who seems to be built similar to myself. If a company can't make cars that adjust to fit a normal dude then they should just stop making cars.
@@TecDLogic sure buddy. You're better off getting a raptor anyways because of the massive depreciation associated with the f150. You lose much more money owning an f150 than you do a raptor. That's if you actually owned them. Financing doesn't count any 20yr old bone head making 50k a year can go get an f150 off the lot.

As a Ram owner I think that since the dial gear selector, paddle shifters would be nice for gear limiting and manual shifting. It doesn't have to be Raptor paddle size but maybe like what can be found in SRT products. The stupid gear limit buttons are difficult to use when you need them especially while turning.
So much room for Activities! Lol. In all seriousness though, the truck is amazing. I bought my Black 2019 Rebel a little over a month ago. eTorque with Panoramic roof. Love it. I opted out of the air suspension, and installed a leveling kit.
I work at Dodge and and first I wasn’t a fan of the knob on the Rams, Durangos, etc either. But after a while I sorta prefer the knob over a column shifter
I used to agree AND I've traditionally been a Ford / GM guy but I've had a '14 and a '16 Ram and LOVED the knob shifter! The Rams since 2013 are far and away better driving, handling, and interior trucks than the others! The '19's are even better. Once you own one with a knob shifter, you'll never want to go back. And that 8-speed is unreal it's so good.
True, the soccer mom hockey puck shifter makes more sense for minivans. I really don’t know how I feel about it in the trucks. The upside is that you get a larger centre console but the idea of not having something to physically shift sucks
I have the rebel 12 package and it’s amazing. The leather seats and the 12 inch screen is perfect for this truck. Had to custom build the truck but worth the wait. Only had it for 2 days now as my SA delivered it to me on Sunday (he’s a friend at a dealership over an hour away from me)

Ram has always been the brand to set the bar, look at the 1994 Ram vs. any other brand that year. Then look at the 1995 trucks and notice how they took notes from Ram.

On of my favorite things about the Rebel has always been that the whole interior like the headliner being black. It makes it way cooler than that light brown in other cars and trucks.
What I love about this truck is that they added the sunroof and the USB in the backseat crew :) Ram & Dodge listen to their customers!
Oddly, I had one of these (base model) earlier this week as a rental and gotta say, I was quite impressed with it and its interior. That thing handled like a car and the ride was so smooth. I've never considered myself a truck person, but damned if it didn't start finding its way onto my short list of potentials. Nice review and thanks for posting.

In Canada the Air Ride is bad. -20C and colder temps can ruin the whole system. My Dad had to take his in 3 times at the beginning of this year. On 2 of those occasions the whole suspension had to be replaced and there was a long wait time for repair because of a lack of spare parts. Also every time my Dad took his in there was at least one other Ram with the same problem in the shop. DO NOT BY A RAM WITH AIR SUSPENSION IF YOU LIVE IN CANADA!

Air suspension on our 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland works perfectly fine in Northern Alberta with no problems, and this is with outside parking!
I live in Quebec and often have temps lower than -20C and never had a problem with my 2015 Outdoorsman with Air Suspension. That's why I purchased my new 2019Rebel with Air Ride again.

Just bought this truck a month ago, and I LOVE IT! A little context about my background; last truck I owned was back in 2002 (Frontier), so it's been a while since I have seen what new trucks are like. I have never owned a domestic product; personal taste thing, nothing against domestic products. I have always had German cars, specifically sports cars, so performance and aesthetics are important to me. Wanted to get that out of the way so whoever is reading will have an idea on my subjective opinions. So, I cross shopped others first before checking the Rebel out last. I originally wanted a Raptor, but then started thinking, meh, I see about 4 or 5 a day on the road here, plus, although the Raptor is a great looking truck (exterior), great performance, I will be paying a premium for a capability it has that no other truck has and I will never use in the North East which is desert running, so the money wasn't worth it for me when other trucks I am cross shopping have pretty much the same off-roading capabilities, for about 15K less. I drove the 2020 PRO4X, did not like the way it handled, and did not like that transmission; otherwise, looks wise and interior wasn't too bad (a lot of plastic though), but didn't justify the price of mid $50K in my opinion with the materials inside (for me, anything over $50K better have a quality interior). Obviously as you can see, the interior is important to me since it's where I spend my time, so I want to feel good and enjoy where I am at. Next up was the Tundra TRD; even though it's a very capable truck, that interior was straight out of 2000's that I had in my 2002 Frontier. Chevy is not really my style of truck, I don't like the squared wheel wells, nor do I like the interior of it; however, a very capable off-roader. Never really thought about RAM trucks until now. I didn't realize the re-did the RAMs, so in my mind, it was the old plain style looking truck. Did some research on the Rebel's capabilities, and it checked every mark for me. So, it was time to go see it in person. I saw the Rebel and immediately loved the unique look. I sat inside of it and immediately knew that if this thing drives well, this is the one I am buying. Took it for a drive....well you know the rest. It was the absolute full package for me from performance to aesthetics.
I don't like trucks, but I have to admit it's pretty crazy how good they are getting. When you consider the interior and all the details it almost makes these things good value. The problem is trucks have gone so far up in price that $50-$60k US is possible if you go crazy with the trims. If you really want I think you can get trims that are near $80k!!!!
The top ram trims sell for around $55,000 even with an msrp in the 60s. You can get a rebel like this in the high 40s in the US.
Trucks are luxury cars now, the interior quality, space, ride quality and seating position are always raved about by truck owners
nail hit on the head. I'd rather spend my 80K on an ss 1LE and tires.
You can get trims just under $100000
check out the laramie longhorn and limited trims which are top teir, its ridiculous. I have a new Laramie and it beats out most lower end luxury cars that costs several thousands more.
Guys, love your videos - always will. However, I just want to say one thing. Please don't exceed 2 commercials, especially in a 12 minute video. In a 20 minute video I wouldn't have noticed, but Cadillac just yelled at me 3 times about their new Xt4 in 8 minutes. As a fellow TH-camr, I get it and commercials are a big part of how we make our living, but I don't want you guys to tarnish the wonderful viewing experience you guys have been building for years. Just don't want to see you guys lose any subs - I WANT TO SEE YOU AT A MILLION! Keep it up gents!
Long term reliability is what worries me I've had a lot of problems with dodge in the past.
Yea, all the bells and whistles inside doesn't make up for shitty engines.
The best thing is that the trans isn't made by Dodge, and that the Hemi has been around long enough that it's pretty solid.

I am a truck guy and for almost the past 10 years I’ve been a Ford guy, but RAM really hit it out of the ball park. Looks amazing, great features, etc strongly considering one in a year or two (or the Jeep gladiator)

I just bought a 2020 Rebel. I absolutely love it. I love the Ram Boxes. It's like having a secure trunk on the truck. They are so practical. I use them all the time. The red accents on the interior are awesome! They look so sharp and cool. It almost has a cool 1950s aesthetic interior feel with the red and the instrument cluster gauges, which I absolutely love stylistically. A marvelously designed truck both inside and out. I haven't taken it off-road yet, but so far I love everything about the Ram Rebel.

This truck......this truck makes me want it. I have zero rational use for THIS MUCH truck, but I want this truck because it's a pretty amazing package for on road use. I know it is hilariously more than I'd need to trailer my Miata to the track....but it's just so effin cool.

Great review - Been liking the 2019 Ram line up and sorting through all the video's to help my decision. !st one I've seen on the Rebel. I have positive thoughts from the Tradesman to the limited. I may have to decline the air suspension since possible repairs to it would suck. Love the crew and the Hemi, open to everything else. I have a 17' Silverado LT DBL and will be looking to replace in about 12-18 months.
Had 96,000 miles on my 2016 Rebel nothing but tires and breaks and normal oil changes , traded in for a 2020 Rebel in white crew cab ..

Reserved a car for a road trip, including a trip to Yosemite. They didn't have my class of car available, so they offered me one of these as a free upgrade. It was a blast to drive, pretty comfortable, mileage was decent and the 8 speed trans was perfect. The v8 came in handy climbing the near 10,000 foot tioga pass. Good job ram

@@f181234 still problematic check the forums, coil springs still where it's at for long-term. Air suspension is cool because it's adjustable but too bad it's not reliable.

I don't know if it's just me, or maybe it was meant to be designed that way, but the new grill actually looks like an abstract head of a ram. The section with the "RAM" badge is like the head, and the other part that wraps around it is like the big horns that go from the top of the head to the sides. Anyone else see it?

RAM kicked it out of the park with this truck. I am perfectly content with my '18 F150 XLT Sport, but this truck is phenomenal.

Dudes, I REALLY appreciate that you mentioned the armrest-to-steering wheel relationship, the driving position, and the wheel telescope in this truck. I drive rental cars almost year-round for work and so many manufacturers are TERRIBLE at driving position ergonomics. Small cars especially, probably for packaging reasons, seem to be designed for people with 2-foot legs and 4-foot arms and it drives me insane. A Toyota Corolla for example is so uncomfortable to me because my legs are scrunched and my arms are outstretched because the steering wheel needs another 4 inches of telescope, minimum. Hyundai does great. The only Ford I'll drive is the F-150 oddly enough. Nissan is good. Most other companies' driving positions are complete trash. I'm a 5'10", 170 pound dude...on the slim side, sure, but I'm not short and I don't have wonky ass limbs or anything. Pretty normal, but most cars are infuriatingly uncomfortable because they're designed for ogres or amputees and lack adjustment for normal people.
I support further critiques of driving positions by Yuri, who seems to be built similar to myself. If a company can't make cars that adjust to fit a normal dude then they should just stop making cars.
For me ford raptor is the best but I give it a thumbs up for the ram

@@TecDLogic sure buddy. You're better off getting a raptor anyways because of the massive depreciation associated with the f150. You lose much more money owning an f150 than you do a raptor. That's if you actually owned them. Financing doesn't count any 20yr old bone head making 50k a year can go get an f150 off the lot.

As a Ram owner I think that since the dial gear selector, paddle shifters would be nice for gear limiting and manual shifting. It doesn't have to be Raptor paddle size but maybe like what can be found in SRT products. The stupid gear limit buttons are difficult to use when you need them especially while turning.

I miss the column shifter in the Ram Trucks :( that knob is horrible.
Yeah I really like column shifters. They make the best use of space.
I work at Dodge and and first I wasn’t a fan of the knob on the Rams, Durangos, etc either. But after a while I sorta prefer the knob over a column shifter

I used to agree AND I've traditionally been a Ford / GM guy but I've had a '14 and a '16 Ram and LOVED the knob shifter! The Rams since 2013 are far and away better driving, handling, and interior trucks than the others! The '19's are even better. Once you own one with a knob shifter, you'll never want to go back. And that 8-speed is unreal it's so good.
True, the soccer mom hockey puck shifter makes more sense for minivans. I really don’t know how I feel about it in the trucks. The upside is that you get a larger centre console but the idea of not having something to physically shift sucks
I have the rebel 12 package and it’s amazing. The leather seats and the 12 inch screen is perfect for this truck. Had to custom build the truck but worth the wait. Only had it for 2 days now as my SA delivered it to me on Sunday (he’s a friend at a dealership over an hour away from me)
