How are people still buying from this company? Look up the teardowns for their pillows and mattresses. They're covered in polymer dust from the manufacturing process that is toxic to breathe in. There's a guy on here (can't remember the name) who took a sample of the particles to a doctor he knew who said it's definitely plastic/rubber particulates that are horrible for you to breathe in. When he contacted Purple about it, they originally said it was baby powder which was a process in their manufacturing, and then when he showed them it wasn't, they slapped him with three giant books of lawsuits and said he was not allowed to disclose the information he found. Take it into a good detailing shop along with someone who has a Chevy, they can use a paint thickness gauge to check the difference in thickness and that question can be answered
Had a 2014 RAM Express, then I bought a 2017 Bighorn. Basic truck seems pretty solid (so far), 5.7 and 8-speed have been great in both trucks. Problems with uconecct and bumper sensors with 15,000 on the truck makes me want my Express back. It sucks you can't just buy a truck with a couple options, heated seats, remote start, ( I live 7 miles from Lake Erie in Pa., winter sucks here). But if you want anything extra you are forced to buy a package. So you're paying for crap you don't want. Just my 2 cents.
Also, Supercharge it. Do it. do it. DO IT. I am gonna do mine. Picked up a 16' Rebel with 29,000 miles on it. So far loving it. Its got a whipple in its future.
On the paint comments, I'm not sure if you regularly wax your vehicles, but that plays a big part in your paint surviving the branch scratches that you didn't get.
8:48-9:10 The difference between 1500s and 2500s is the payload capacity and tow capacity. It used to be that that was how many pounds of payload you could put in the bed (or how much weight a fifth wheel/gooseneck could be putting on the rear axle) but they've slowly gotten more and more without changing the numbers (midsizes now do 1500lbs, 1500s now do 2500lbs etc). So the difference is going to be in the suspension and probably better cooling for the transmission.

Guys are dumping lots of power into them and with proper tuning, having no issues, and in stock power form, they are really shedding that reputation Dodge built in years past with their trans issues.
If you have a rear floor mat, theres storage under that on each side. If you pull your seat up like it is you should have storage under that. Have put 25k on my 17 with no issues. Went with it over the ford cause it has rear wheel well liners. A comparable $50k ford doesnt have them.. and Chevy wasnt even a thought with the ac and electrical issues and low tow rating. The rebel comes outfitted with just enough features and is a great truck. Good choice.
I like these kinds of videos, they're a nice mix up once in a while. Personally I am not into trucks for uhh... a few different reasons. But I've been considering one to haul motorcycles.
Wow, I'm only an hour late! I agree with you Dan, Dodge/Ram is more attractive to me (although not gonna lie Chevy's Camaro and Corvette are pretty attractive). I've ridden in the 2014 Dodge Durango when they first came out and they are very comfy! Also I was pretty stocked when I heard about the TRX Concept and even more so when I saw it, last I heard they were talking about putting a Hellcat engine in it as well instead of the V6 (if I remember correctly that is what they were gonna put in it at first). This is my dream truck 100%!
After owning multiple trucks now, what was your ownership experience with RAM? I’m looking to buy my first truck and I’m debating between the newer Ram 1500 and the GMC Sierra 1500. My concern with Ram is reliability. But I’ll be using the truck as a daily. Considering how much trucks cost nowadays, I want to get my moneys worth and drive the truck for as long as possible
I miss it so much. Major regrets getting rid of it. The quality and performance on it was top notch. I've had both absolutely base models and this higher end model as well, and they're both great trucks
What kind of tires would you say would fit the truck well? I’m thinking of getting one but have heard that the tires make a lot of noise. I’ve yet to test drive it but tire noise grinds my ears
And Dan check into it but I remember on the older dodges all you have to do is change the transmission lines to a aftermarket line bc the factory lines have restrictions
Eh, ok, trucks are a deeply personal purchase. That being said, I DO need to drive a newer dodge, I'm tired of my Chevy. Good review, and Dan...? I cant wait until spring. Twist twist!
Funny you mention wondering why there's no Hellcat Rebel yet. Chrysler just announced a few days ago that the Ram Rebel TRX Hellcat is coming to mass production in May of 2022 with some revisions from the concept. Click "Read More" for the mini book of details. It will have an 8 speed auto, dynamic stability control and all wheel drive, which uses electronic locking front and rear differentials and a viscous coupling in the transfer case designed to split torque 40/60% bias without anything locking solid causing binding or lack of stability or steering. Part time and low range will have the front/rear/center diff lock activated automatically, with an override function where pressing the button that corresponds to the diff(s) you don't want activated, they will revert to viscous coupling mode and/or unlock so you don't experience binding or loss of steering ability on tight turns off road. It will have all of the fully loaded Laramie luxury group features, all of the Rebel's performance and off road features, and it will also sit 3 inches higher than the current Rebel with 4 inches more suspension travel both upward and downward over the current suspension with a 6 inch wider track for better articulation off road and handling characteristics on road. Last and most importantly in my opinion, it will have 4 on-the-fly tuning modes for race/off road/towing/economy to utilize the most of the power, suspension and drivetrain it features to optimize performance for those 4 driving types in the areas and ways it's needed, with the best fuel economy possible from a 707HP V8. You can read more about it on C&D or other news outlets, this is just what I perceived most important.
What are your thoughts on a Tacoma? I've been considering a truck for awhile now and lean more towards wanting a midsize but full-size get almost the same milage anymore.
Is there anyway to use just the front or rear air ride? Like can you drop or raise just the rear to help with heavy trailers or to squat it for instagram clout.
Wait ... now you have German 8 speed ZF used also in many foreign prestige vehicles. Also the previous Chrysler transmission weren't really bad, not because i didn't have problems with 2 of them in my trucks, but because i was told at trans. rep. shop that they don't get them much. Surprisingly I've personally heard of hemi rebuilds, but not single Dodge Ram or Ram transmission work yet
I like the ram rebel but I am waiting to see if ram is gonna make the rebel trx with the hellcat engine because the concept was just amazing hopefully they do make it I personally own 2 rams a Ram RT and a SRT10 which are just amazing trucks.
My grandfather got a 17 Rebel after having an 04 Ram 1500 for 30 years. From being in it from time to time and occasionally driving it, I would say go for it man! The air suspension is a game changer. I would argue that the rebel is more comfortable than a Cadillac
burl1420 how can someone own an 04 ram for 30 years.....that would mean its 14 years old even if it was a mistype and you meant 94 it would still only be 24 years old
Transmission problems? I've driven nothing but Ram/Dodge and have never had transmission problems. My last truck a Dakota had 220 k miles with the original transmission and my current Ram 2500 has 160k with the original trans. Ive had a total of 4 trucks and never had to replace the transmission.
@@DOITWITHDAN im kind of excited for it. Supposed to be able to tow just as much as a full size while getting WAY better mpg. Thanks for the reply. Ride safe, see you around dickhead!
Ford I don’t like the turning radius or that they don’t always down shift when you go wot. Chevy I don’t like how fast the frame rusts or the trans will sometimes feel like it’s hunting for gears when slowing down then hard clunk into first. Dodge I don’t like the coil overs or bags because they aren’t good off road imo and I don’t trust them for reliability and unless they changed something two years ago they rust EVERYWHERE! Overall I’d buy any of them but my first choice is the Chevy 1500 z71. I miss mine so much. Out of the 23 cars I’ve had race cars included that’s the one I want back. Honestly I love ford and I agree with the arm rest part. It’s so weird but I understand what it does
If you have a rear floor mat, theres storage under that on each side.
My dad Daily's a power wagon and he loves it.
We're sending his trophy now
@@vientayuno934 thanks it will make a great Christmas gift.
When I was looking for a truck I felt like I needed 4 wheel drive, but after I saw what u did to your other dodge I realized that I didn’t need 2wd
I had a 2011 Tacoma 4x4. Loved it! It was an awesome truck
The 8 speed is a fantastic transmission, it’s going to last you well over 100k miles
Hopefully more than that. My old 01 ram 1500 has the original tranny at 141k
@@SugarMilkbro My 2017 Ram has 163k and counting so seems to be pretty good. A vehicle is only as good as the maintenance.
In my opinion Dodge has the best trucks. My dad bought a 2018 1500 express trim and it’s still pretty nice for one of the lower trims.
Joshua Turnbull dodge doesn’t make trucks anymore it’s RAM
Gilbert Briseno yea technically they’re now RAM but they still are actually dodges
The ford raptor is for hucking it in the dunes and stuff like that. The ram rebel is more ment for getting you places other trucks can't get you.
Now we need one on the camaro
i love how dan is rocking a funhaus t shirt
You can adjust the height from the key fob
I’ve always wanted a Dakota V8 for some reason
Cause they're epic
Do It With Dan merry Xmas eve brudda 🕺🏻
You too dude!
ThatGamerDude I’m salty
Drove one for 7 years. 2004 4 door with the 4.7l 2wd. It was quick but don't get any where near mud because it will get stuck.
Who else just realized that dan is only a inch taller than the length of his truck bed
Dan it’s a joke don’t get mad at me
Kz0nee be careful, he can be short with his viewers
I just use a larime for on the farm. But I put rebel wheels and tires on it.
Is there anyway to use just the front or rear air ride? Like can you drop or raise just the rear to help with heavy trailers or to squat it for instagram clout.
I believe there is a way to "hack" or override it.
Good review. I like that you use your truck for truck things. Instead of it being a garage queen
Wait ... now you have German 8 speed ZF used also in many foreign prestige vehicles. Also the previous Chrysler transmission weren't really bad, not because i didn't have problems with 2 of them in my trucks, but because i was told at trans. rep. shop that they don't get them much. Surprisingly I've personally heard of hemi rebuilds, but not single Dodge Ram or Ram transmission work yet
saw a white rebel with some nice fuels on it; makes me wanna get a rebel and makes me want you to get wheels for your rebel
8:03
Literally plowing a tree... "ooh"
I like the ram rebel but I am waiting to see if ram is gonna make the rebel trx with the hellcat engine because the concept was just amazing hopefully they do make it I personally own 2 rams a Ram RT and a SRT10 which are just amazing trucks.
Headache rack would look sick you should build one
Get justin to wrap the red bits on the interior and see what you think!
What do you do for work?
I’m a Chevy guy, but I’m considering buying the Rebel because it seems to be the only truck that still comes with a black headliner 🙄
My grandfather got a 17 Rebel after having an 04 Ram 1500 for 30 years. From being in it from time to time and occasionally driving it, I would say go for it man! The air suspension is a game changer. I would argue that the rebel is more comfortable than a Cadillac
burl1420 how can someone own an 04 ram for 30 years.....that would mean its 14 years old even if it was a mistype and you meant 94 it would still only be 24 years old
@@YNB_Fatty I meant 13 sorry
burl1420 oh lmao I thought you were a troll 😂 thanks lan
2019 gmc sierra at4
I got a 6 second ram 1500 commercial before this 12 minute ram rebel commercial
Show me a video of your Rebel up close with sunlight and tell me there is no scratches LOL
Dan, We love our 17 Rebel as well man. Hey, what's your Mic configuration on the GoPro??
For 60 grand I'd be looking at a power wagon :\
Buuuut since I have a 96 12v 2500 laramie....I doubt if i'll need to replace it anytime soon.
Transmission problems? I've driven nothing but Ram/Dodge and have never had transmission problems. My last truck a Dakota had 220 k miles with the original transmission and my current Ram 2500 has 160k with the original trans. Ive had a total of 4 trucks and never had to replace the transmission.
Been subbed for a while just curious how dark the tint on the windshield brow is, thanks.
5 percent
Hey Dan, how come you didn't just buy a 2019 Ram Rebel?
price.
So how has the truck held up?
Is this a 4th gen or 5th gen ?
Went and took a 💩. Came back, and Dan was still talking lol
Don't care for a review of the ram. Only here because Dan posted it. Dan could review a banana peel, and I would gladly watch lmao.
How do you feel about the new turbo diesel colorado/canyon with the 4 banger?
I'd still prefer a bigger diesel. From what I've read, its alot slower but has alot more torque. I think. I could be wrong
But my s13 isn’t going anywhere lol.
