This is my absolute favorite trend in current video games - retro 2.5D animation that blends phenomenal world-building and exploration with awesome contemporary gameplay. I don't know how else to say it: It sets fanboy fireworks off in my brain.
@@S.F.D.R The trailer was nothing but a concept video they put together over multiple months, they didn't even start work on the game before that video. I imagine they ran out of funds, since no investor would invest in a game that doesn't actually exist in any form yet.

Part of it is like a mix of Inside, Deadlight and The Fall (Robotsuit) games. But it adding combat, stronger cinematic narrative work and it's own 2.5D pixel art style is what sets it apart. I love this kind of game.
As much as I love those unreal engine demos - I haven’t seen anything in a game quite as breathtaking as this - this is peak art and design - where the directors vision can be fully realized in a video game - not limited by uncanny valleys and current gen technology - this is the full Monty as far as intended graphics is concerned
cannot wait for this one kinda like a cyberpunk Eastward (with cooler combat) with that cool Octopath-style lighting. Love the mix of high-res and low-poly assets anybody who hasn't tried Eastward should try it
Finally something new and different not just the same 8 bit copy pasted roguelike metroidvania dont get me wrong i dont have anything against those games im just glad we are getting something for a change
4:40 I hope there aren't many of these sequences in the game because holding forward and pressing jump in such a pathetic platforming challenge has to be one of the most boring modern gaming tropes invented. Give me a challenge.

The visuals are good but what's with the sound? Needs a lot of work. Music is uneven/choppy & sound affects need more punch.

Yeah, the scroll wheel is dope. Sony Ericsson P800, P900, P910 and some other modes from 2000 had this side scroll wheel tech.

The forest part is a 1 to 1 rip of the first level from Inside. They're not even hiding it. The same mechanics/set pieces in the exact same order.
