I heard so much about it, but i just couldnt get the hang of it. Hours and hours of trying and getting stuck time and time again only to use guides time and time again. I did have some awesome moments tho, thats for sure.
Great list. Outer Wilds, for me, even after decades of gaming, became one of the most memorable games. The second I hear music from the game I remember where I was exploring at the time and how much I enjoyed it. There were a couple of games on here that I wasn't aware of and it sounds like they're worth a try.
played it for about 2 hours, just could NOT get through it. The controls were pretty bad and janky. Took me out. Pretty slow pacing I just couldn't get into it
@@papiagua The controls are not bad and janky, it just takes practice, assuming you're talking about space flight. It's a space sim, you have to fly like you're in real space. You can't just stop abruptly or zip around like in NMS or something. And the pacing is slow, but it's supposed to be a relaxing exploration game, idk what else you expect lol.

For me, It was Nier Automata that showed me what a game can be. Such a thought provoking masterpiece of a game
I guess for the same reason people like anime, I've tried to understand it, but there's no reality, this or any other, where Nier automata was a thought-provoking game, was a decent action game with a solid soundtrack. The one funny part is how they literally just put variations of top 3 quotes of basically every known philosopher and plastered it all over the game and people were in awe of how deep and intellectually complex the game was. Which obviously must have been the idea by the devs. Make it so obvious that it's considered an homage, while still impressing most people who'd be interested in this kind of teenage romcom.
@@HoodstarGaming Agree that it is not a philosophical masterwork, but the set pieces, camerawork, tone, and multi-modal gameplay definitely make it a game worth experiencing. You do have to have a bit of a stomach already for JRPGs though.
@@HoodstarGamingI think the missing puzzle piece for you to understand why NieR:Automata is one of if not the most highly praised stories or experiences in gaming ever, is not in the finer details, but in the presentation of the whole thing.
Something can be more than the sum of its parts. Automata cannot, will not and did not go as deep into its philosophies as an actual philosophy book.
If you are looking for that amalgamation of information on a philosophy then stick to philosophy books.
What Automata does that texts can't is present the viewer with an experience that encapsulates the essence of the philosophy.
I can read a philosophy book but I'll be bored to death and take no interest in the ramblings and musings of a man.
But put a story, characters, music, interaction (gameplay), voices and a greater overall picture and I'll walk away appreciating that philosophy much more than if I just read the book the games philosophies are based on.
NieR:Automata takes existentialism and puts it into practice. Its a practical display of what existentialism looks and feels like.
The purpose of automatas use of existentialism is not to explain it to the player or lecture them on it. It's just meant to make them feel it through the characters.
Bluntly put, I don't give a flying fuck about what nietzche or any other philosopher has to say in whatever published texts they have.
But give that philosophy a form that I can identify with and feel for, a character with a story to experience. Then suddenly I care a lot, because I'm given something or someone to care about.

Shadow of the Colossus was quite possibly the most influential game in my life. If you haven't played it, PLEASE check it out via either the PS2 original, the PS3 remaster, or the PS4 remake. It's such a beautiful game that sticks with you long after playing it

@Exitium93 I've definitely played them all. I'd personally recommend playing the PS2 or PS3 version first, whichever is easier to access for you. They're basically the same, except the PS3 version has slightly higher resolution. Then go play the PS4 remake if you're as into it as I am. However, the PS4 version does have more modern controls, so that might be an easier barrier of entry for a lot of people. At the end of the day, please experience the game in any way you can. But my personal favorite way to experience it is on PS2
@Exitium93 best version is the most recent released version. All are the same content wise, but the PS4 version is stunning to look at and modern controls.
I've seen some videos of guys creating a similar game in an engine called Godot. The feeling it created is so unique, just that sense of a huuuuuge monster or evil machine way off in the distance waiting for you. Almost like swimming and all of a sudden see and feel the water get much darker and you "feel" the depth beneath you.

Hugely recommend Soma, even for people who aren’t hugely into horror. It will break your brain and make you question everything you know about what a person is. It’s so good. And so underrated. In my top 5 games of all time, for sure.

If you don't like horror I'd recommend the Talos Principle instead, similar themes (as far as I'm aware) not scary

Oblivion helped me through a difficult time. I'd abruptly gone from being very active and outdoors a great deal to unable to sit upright more than 15-20 minutes. My husband bought me an Asus laptop and Oblivion, a game our niece enjoyed. I spent a lot of time wandering around Cyrodiil. Never under estimate the benefit good video games have for the disabled.
Damn, that was one of the best videos I’ve seen in awhile. You have simultaneously given me that warm feeling inside of games I’ve played and cherish fondly while given me a dozen new games I have to add to my already too long to tackle backlog. Seriously inspirational and impressive video! On a side note, Yakuza is definitely a series I recommend immensely and it would leave you with a multitude of feelings that not many other video games can achieve. Definitely worth a try (or another go) if you haven’t already.

Prey is my favorite game experience ever. There are so many great ones but Prey's atmosphere and locations were just perfection. I went in blind and was kinda board at first which made it so exciting when I realized I was actually playing an incredible game.
If you haven't already you should really play What Remains of Edith Finch. A masterpiece in storytelling and narrative!

This game blew me away and is the game I show non gaming people that I appreciate and know that they will understand the beauty in that form of story telling. Mind blowing game.
Grounded is the one game i wish i could forget and play all over again for the first time. The discovery, mystery, and sense of wonder reminded me of what i felt playing games as a kid

Death Stranding was indeed one of the best gaming experiences I had, just make sure you take your time, you're alone, relaxed and prepared to dive deep and enjoy something I never knew gaming could offer.
DS is such a great game. Played through all the way 2x and am very excited for the sequel.
One in a million kind of game
This game was booty
I wish i enjoyed it. I really liked the atmosphere and story and cutscenes are beautiful but the gameplay was just intolerable for me. The mechanics don't make any sense like you fall over from a pebble but can go downhill carrying 100kilo at 40mph without any problems.
It took me a while to give it a try as Hideo Kojima games are often equal part genius and frustration, but took a chance when it was on sale for £10 and loved it.
That first mission in Death Stranding when you finally head out for your first time and all of a sudden the camera pulls way out and the music kicks in....EPIC!
In my personal opinion, I'd say outer wilds had the biggest impact on me, it's truly mind blowing
The ending had me in tears. It touched me in a way few games have or ever will. Even seeing it on here brought a tear to my eye. Its amazing and I wish everyone could experience it. I wish I could experience it for the first time again.

Im struggling to find games like outer wilds and subnautica, and im starting to believe there is not.
Really great video. For me, the most memorable games were Mass Effect and especially RDR2. The story and feeling the game gave me were just different and it felt like a 60 hour long movie with a great world.

Nier Automata is one of those games I sorely wish I could go back and experience for the first time again, it resonated with me so much and genuinely changed my outlook on life and made me a more optimistic person (this was probably due to picking it up in lockdown, when I was dealing with a bunch of shit stuff that covid just made even worse, but I'll always be grateful to this game for being one of the few things that picked me up in those moments). That game left its mark on me in ways i can't full articulate to this day.
Oblivion was also my first Bethesda game and always holds a special place in my heart for that, I'll always hold it up as the best one even if subsequent TES and Fallout games have improved on it in many ways. The world is so beautiful, and the score amplifies it so well, I'd regularly spend hours just walking between places soaking it all in. Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate 3 have also shot right up to the top of my favourite RPGs ever, on my 2nd playthrough of both atm and I can see myself regularly replaying them every year-2 years now like I have Mass Effect/KOTOR/etc. in the past.
My other 'everyone should experience these' games are:
Lost Odyssey - the pinnacle of what JRPGs can do with storytelling. Dealing with themes of grief, loss, and acceptance of both, I regularly go back to replay it despite it being a 4 disc long behemoth. It came to me exactly when I needed it to process a lot of the things it deals with, and I don't think it's an exaggeration to say it shaped me into who I am now.
Red Dead Redemption 2 - it's really a shame that I don't see Rockstar doing anything like this game again, everything feels damn near perfect and the character writing is some of the best of any game I've seen
Bloodborne - now confession time, I've not even actually finished this game (other stuff came out and distracted me and i'm not amazing at soulsborne style games to begin with) but after only getting into it at the start of this year, after many attempts at Dark Souls and Demons Souls in the past, I finally get what it is about these games that people adore. The atmosphere, setting, subtle storytelling and lore that you have to dig into and think about. Yeah I'm getting my ass handed to me constantly but I'm enjoying every minute of it.
NieR:Automata is also the game that affected me the most. It really is a kind of game that never gets made. A 1 of a kind.
While I acknowledge that NieR replicant exists and did many similar things, and I have played it to completion too.
Nothing, not even replicant quite achieves the feeling that automata creates as you play it.
It's the only game that's ever made my jaw drop in awe at the sheer quality of writing alone.
I was equally impressed by it's music and characters. Slackjawed and absolutely disgusted (in a good way) by how masterfully crafted the game was.
It's the one kind of game where I think saying "you just don't get it" is a valid response to someone that doesn't like it or understand why other people like it.
It's a game that depending on when you play it in your life or where your mind is at the time you play, can drastically effect what you take away from it as an experience.
There's such a barrier between the many who adore it and the few that don't that "you don't get it" is the best answer you could give in a disagreement.

That's interesting. I've traveled around the world and experienced alot of relationships. Automata hits some cheerful nihilistic chord with me as well. It's like a DMT dream or something like that. I feel a strong resonating association with it, but exactly what is on the tip of my tongue; Like something I didn't experience in this world but a lifetime ago.

The way you talked about Dyson Sphere Program reminds me of how much time I loved pouring into Satisfactory. Then, when you get tired of optimizing (which you won't), you can also explore the world and make hypertubes to shoot you across the map. I never regretted the many hours I spent just building roadways or creating a more optimal factory configuration.
I'll definitely check out DSP though.
It is just as addictive as satisfactory, the controlls are a bit weird though but there are a lot of qualidty of life features it got that more than make up for that
Satisfactory is such a great mix of exploration (with the dangers of wildlife.. oh those spiders...) and factory optimization. The world is beautiful to travel through. It's really exploring and then securing your world and build your factory civilization on it.
Even though fighting takes only a small part of the game, those spider gave me the most scare jumps I've had in any game.
OBLIVION was one of the best games that had an impact on me until this day , even when I played skyrim I missed the old RPG elements of oblivion the mystery and mind puzzling quests and how things look cute but hides the darkest secrets.
The first time game experience that left an unforgettable lasting impression on me since it released 25 years ago is Thief: the Dark Project. The immersion, sound, mission design, and stealth gameplay totally pulled me in.

That game can have you laughing one minute, then a complete emotional mess the next. Its the best story ive found in gaming.
My most unforgettable first time gaming experiences are Metal Gear Solid, ME trilogy, Skyrim, TLOU 1 and 2, RDR 2, Prey, Death Stranding, Cyberpunk 2077. Bloodborne, and the more recent Elden Ring which blew me away during my 200 plus hour 1st playthrough. Gaming is art.
Fantastic list, for me it's the Talos Principle. I played the game recently and literally the game brought me to tears. The story, the messages and the philosophy is absolutely gorgeous.

Dark Age of Camelot, 2003. My first MMO with unmatched PvP content (3 player factions, so much better than 2 factions only).
The awe of besieging or holding a fortress with hundreds of other players. Strategic warfare with small groups or big zergs over hours in an endless fight.
The good thing with the 3 factions was, that as soon as one faction became too strong and conquered too much territory, the two remaining factions started working together for a limited time. So the 3 faction system allowed the playerbase to keep the game intersting, even when one faction had a very good organized guild.
I still remember the first time I entered Stratholme, or how we spent 8-12h on a Sunday trying to get through and understand the mechanics of Molten Core. The fact that it had not been done before, and we didn't have the videos and walkthroughs so common today, made it an even more meaningful experience.
This is the reason I didn't look at any kind of info on Cyberpunk 2077 the first 100+ hours. I wanted the first time experience, and boy did it deliver....
EVERQUEST: The first time alone after nightfall running thru Norrath to meet friends near Ork Hill. Coming upon the area and seeing the Orks dancing around the fire...Stunning. The night sounds and creepiness of it all was so immersive.

I'm really glad you mentioned Prey and Mooncrash. I just recently finished both, and aside from a bit of frustration at the beginning of Mooncrash, the entire experience was very engaging and exciting.
Though nothing so far compares to Outer Wilds. I hope to see more games like it in the future.
With many games i enjoyed the second play through even more. First time i always play how the game wants me to play but second time i go crazy and play how i want to.
Sid Meyer's Pirates released 1987. I played it on my friend's 32-bit Amiga and it was one of my most memorable gaming experiences.
For me, the first experiences I wish I could repeat are Pirates, Elite, UFO: Enemy Unknown and System Shock.
if you liked Alan Wake 2, you have to play Control. Remedy tied these universes together, they're amazing. There's even an Alan Wake DLC.
Control is definitely one of those games that blew my mind the first time.
This is a great list and includes a lot of my all time favorite games like outer wilds, takes two, cyberpunk, death stranding, plague tale, horizon, and several other games i have in my backlog. I'm currently playing ghost of tsushima and hellblade, I've heard great things about them and decided to finally give them a go
Theres something about the music from these games that really makes the magic. like when i heard the outer wilds music i just got chills remembering the game and my experience of it. And the mass effect music omg. It's like opening a portal through time with music giving me that same feeling i had years ago. Nostalgia is crazy.

Valheim was one that helped me cope during the pandemic. The co-op experience is unmatched. So many memories of mishaps, victories, and a feeling of home with a plethora of bases my friends and I have built along the way. It is one of the best $15 I've ever spent on Steam. Iron Gate Studios made the perfect game at the perfect time.

Your detailed points about introspection and quiet contemplation in many of these games are greatly appreciated. I've been looking for more thought-provoking, mind-bending slow burn games as I've gotten older. Journey is a phenomenal awe-inspiring game for a first play through too.

Oblivion was the first time a games scale, graphics, and arguably most importantly in this case, the general atmosphere as a whole of the world completely encompassed my life for a few years.
However- my most memorable and special "first" playthrough of a game was hands down Final Fantasy 7, and there is a kind of weird roundabout story that spans like 10 years as to why. I was born in 93, so even though I was 'coherent' so to speak by the time FF7 came out, I wasn't smart or developed enough to be able to play it myself. So I watched my brothers play it, and I was immediately sucked in to it. Even as a kid the music really struck a chord with me, and the visuals- especially when the CG cutscenes were added to the mix- paired with the atmosphere of the world it like really captivated little kid me's imagination. I tried to play it a couple times a little later one but was still super young, and even though I was ABLE to read at that point (for the most part), I sure as shit didn't WANT to have to read. I just wanted to fight shit and look at the pretty things. Nor did I understand a lot of the integral systems like Materia and how pairing different ones worked. So I'd use a gameshark most of the time, but eventually get lost because I didn't read and didn't know wtf to do. So I had kind of a brief general idea of what was going on in the story, but in the bigger picture I had no idea.
Important Sidenote: Nostalgia has always been a HUGE thing for me. Even as a little kid I would get nostalgia from the music in FF7, though in retrospect that point of my life only spanned a handful of years. I'm 30 now, and like.. real true nostalgia is the most special thing to me. Whether it's noises, visuals, or smells. It's like the ultimate internal "good" feeling for me, especially since it's not like a constantly happening thing so when it does happen I really cherish that nostalgia while it's there.
Anyway, fast forward to my teen years. I was a little stoner dude, so whenever my dad would leave for business trips, which was almost every weekend sometimes longer, I'd just get baked and listen to music/ play games. I had the place to myself for like a little over a week, so the first day I randomly had an urge to throw in FF7 because I realized I never beat the game, but had those really core nostalgia-tied memories from when I was super young. Also another important note for anyone who's never smoked weed: it can amplify a lot of what you are feeling (I guess that's why it pairs so well with music, visually stimulating things, watching already funny movies, etc...) so when I booted the game up and heard the intro music, I was flooded with like the most intense nostalgia and memories of being a kid, which was amplified x1000 because I was stoned. Spent the entire week going through the game, reading everything, and really taking in all of it because the entire experience was filled with this super intense nostalgia. It was super weird, because even though a lot of what I was seeing and reading was the first time it ever legitimately registered in my brain, I had the nostalgia because I had visually SEEN (and heard the music from) a lot of the game from watching my brothers play, but I had completely forgotten the majority of all these things so a lot of it was like I was playing it for the very first time, being totally sucked in to and captivated by the emotional rollercoaster of a story, world, atmosphere, yadayada etc.. but WITH the added nostalgia, and then the unexpected SUPER intense nostalgic moments from things I had completely forgot, all amplified like crazy because I was stoned. It was hands down the most special gaming experience I've ever had, and if I could go back and redo something in my life just to experience it again, it would be that week.
Like playing a game for the first time is one thing, it's amazing don't get me wrong.. creating new memories, feelings, emotions and all that.. but playing a game for the first time with that intense internal nostalgia feeling while legitimately experiencing it for the first time is a whole other ballgame. With or without the weed lol. I don't smoke anymore, ironically after a few years it started giving me super bad anxiety, but man I can't express enough how genuinely special that week and entire playthrough was for me.
The kind of video game essay that makes me more than any other, want to try games I haven't yet. Well Done!

Great video! For me, it was being there for the launch of ps1 and N64. Playing Resident Evil.. then 2 etc. Silent Hill. Tony Hawk. Goldeneye. Twisted Metal World Tour. Tekken. Red Faction. Mario 64. Perfect Dark. Max Payne. Metal Gear Solid. Final Fantasy 7. etc etc.
These and others were the pioneers to everything that came after. 3D gaming, new and wild games and stories, and frankly, it peaked in the PS3/Xbox 360 era. Yes, there's still great games today, but most are like Hollywood blockbusters.. very safe with pretty graphics.

BTW if anyone does give it a go make sure all your characters have some level of the animal whisperer skill. Do not underestimate the advantage an army of cats and other creatures bring to combat.

Elden Ring for the first felt like a true solo adventure. It felt like every 30 mins I was being mind blown by something and my first play through was 100 hours +
I gave up on it after 2 hours a month ago. Started again a few days ago and am 10 hours in and its growing on me fast. Definitely a true solo adventure like you said.

@@rifana8624 I hope so. Everytime I think Im getting better soon after I get snow plowed by some new behemoth. THe first time the Bear jumped out of nowhere on me was pretty nutz. I have no clue how I will beat that thing. As frustrating as it gets and I shut it off a few hours later Im already thinking about getting some levels and going after Margit again.
@@kyle.winterI had a similar experience. The first few hours were so frustrating I wanted to quit. I only kept playing it out of spite because I paid for it and didn’t want to waste the money. 8-10 hours in it started to stick and it’s now one of my favorites of all time.
I was actually surprised Elden Ring was not on the list. I would agree that the other Souls games probably have more replayability (especially DS1 and DS3) but the first playthrough of Elden Ring was probably my most magical experience ever. Just writing about it now makes me nostalgic.

I'd recommend Braid which is also a really thought provoking first playthrough. (In line with the first 3)
I can still remember my first Oblivion play through as well. Morrowind was my first Bethesda title, it didn’t get very far and didn’t have my own copy.
But when my cousin came to visit my cottage, he brought Oblivion with him, and showed me his character and let me make a character on his console he brought.
I ended up staying in the floor after watching him play from like, 5pm to 2am, and played from 2am to probably 8am and made my own character and became obsessed with RPG games with open worlds. I remember my first character and reaction to first seeing my character come out of the sewer, and the world beyond me open to my imagination.
The next time I felt that was fallout 3 and new Vegas funny enough. Back when I had a better attention span and kept one character without starting over, engaging myself into the worlds and just being amazed at the city scape of f3 and the unique characters of new Vegas in the desolate desert.
I find I don’t get that from the newer titles. Probably due to them being more hand holding and no innovation to them. Why play those when I can play old complete experiences that aren’t being overly monetized and providing a shoddy experience in comparison?

The way I moaned when you said inscryption. This game blew me away and is still getting hours out of me. I got a tattoo of the sacrifice symbol that appears on cards when you use them to summon others. That game is just mmmm chefs kiss

Just as a footnote. The biggest impact that game made on me (besides those already mentioned here) was from Life is Strange. It's not the genre I usually see on this channel, but it definitely belongs in the category of "you should experience for the first time"

I was looking for some mention to it. Life is Strange is beautiful, @FranklyGaming you should definitively give it a shot. (The first game, IMO, is the must one, the second is good, but not near great)
I'm dating myself here, but City of Heroes was my first real MMO game. And I loved it. I became a crazy powerful healer that everyone wanted on their team. My character looked badass and I felt a real sense of accomplishment at what I created. And was so proud of the backstory I created for my character. Basically I was a cursed empath. My punishment for living a live of greed as a cutthroat wall street monster. I was sent back to earth curse with feeling the pain of every single person in the world and the only way I could atone and stop the pain was to help people to make up for my previous life. Something like that. It was a long time ago.
Awesome idea for a video and well executed! I randomly think about how I felt the first time I stepped outside the vault in Fallout 3 or finding new discoveries in the ocean of Subnautica wishing I could rewind and experience again for the firsst time.

The first time I completed Mass Effect trilogy - I fell in a kind of depression state for few days. Knowing that I will never be able to experiance this kind of thing for the first time again was so sad.
I’ve had that with so many games. Especially Mass Effect. It’s truly sad to know a masterpiece like that won’t be experienced again fresh with no knowledge of it.

play Dragon age then.....same studio, same game devs, same game mechanics, same intricate level lore(actually much higher level of lore)...only difference is the setting (medieval Fantasy)....also you have 4 characters you control instead of 3.

id add hellblade senua's sacrifice. Playing it in one go was one of the best experiences I've ever had.
I am not a gamer by any means but have been playing games since the mid 90s. I think the experiences i still remember are chronotrigger, warcraft 2, freelancer, alpha centauri, age of mythology, dragon age 1, mass effect 2, diablo 2 and recently divinity original sin 2 and disco elysium. All of these games except alpha centauri provided me with a lot of story which pulled me in and made me want to keep going forward towards the end. I havent played many games maybe a couple of hundred over my life but these games i will share with my kids as well. Dont think i can say the same about a lot of pop culture i have experienced.
Prey,subnautica and inscryption are some of the greatest games ever made
If i had to put one game on this list it would probably be hollow knight

Damn Mass Effect is even better than Star Wars and I'm not even kidding. My personal favourite game series is Red Dead because I love the Western theme, Sergio Leone's movies and Ennio Morricone's legendary scores, but Mass Effect is easily my 2nd favourite video game series. Yes, I love them even more than the GTA games.

Nothing stayed with me as much as playong oblivion as a kid and the mass effect series especially number 2
Mine was sly cooper when i was about 8. I loved it, I played every single one rhat was released and im now 23 and i still think about it since then ive replayed them all around christmas time. That is my game
Difficult to watch because I was so worried about spoilers. I missed a decade or more of gaming, skipped straight from Tomb Raider on PS1 to Skyrim, and I'm now playing catch-up. Mass Effect 1 was certainly a fantastic experience, and you've made me very excited that my backlog contains not just 2 & 3 but Horizon Zero Dawn, Outer Wilds, It Takes Two and Subnautica. And those I'd add as special first-time experiences? I've discussed What Remains of Edith Finch in another comment, and I'd also say Stray has that memorably unique viewpoint that throws you off balance, in a good way.
if you were to pick a mmo, I could see you pick FFXIV just from its level of writing, the lore is something that I & others have all stated, "something I'll remember with awe until the grave."

FFXIV signing into the game is such a chore the UI is straight outta 1998 and they want a subscription for that s*it yeah no thnx.
@@duckmastergiuseppe1134 WoW is also trash, why do I need to download like 7 different extra things to make it playable? After playing FFXI for years I was shocked that you needed anything more then a voice chat app. At least FFXIV has a good story and good game mechanics. The fact you have to download an app that plays a blowhorn in your ears because Lizzard can't be bothered to have better telegraphs in 2023 should be unacceptable. The facination that there are so many people on at the same time quickly fades when you realize you don't need to interact with anyone until you reach max level and try to get into raiding.
P.S. How is it acceptable that the classes are so badly balanced that entire subclass and perk options are actually useless. Why are they even in the damn game? Example: Paladin has multiple options but only one valid build. It's been almost 20 years and they can't fix it so that you have actual choices?
FFXIV has a free trial that now includes Two Expansions up to level 70 with no restrictions on playtime.
... you could level all jobs & classes, crafting, etc all to level 70. And then get the game if you enjoy it, if you find it *Fulfilling.*
Could load it to see the land scapes, try the dungeons, the game play, & the community being one of it's highest points.

I love the fact that you picked two games I really loved. I am a big fan of Prey and Death Stranding. I played over 9 hours once in DS; I was so lost in that world. I'm not a horror fan, but the world and story of Prey blow me away. It kept me coming back for more. Good picks. Thanks

Cyberpunk 2077... first playthru...amazing story, gut wrenching at times as you fall in with the characters...leaving with the Aldecaldos...was bittersweet.. a great ending, but an ending you never wanted to come.. you never wanted to leave, my favorite of all time.

I've just finished CP2077, put almost 200 hours into the game and I never felt bored. Along with Baldur's Gate 3 the best game I played this year.
Now I'm gonna start Death Stranding and after that I want to jump back in BG3 for a second playthrough. BG3, The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are my favourite treasure games of all time.

I always heard of Mass Effect but never bothered playing the "old" games and because the length of them.
After your video I started the Legendary Edition and I'm currently finishing ME2. The world building and character writing is superb. Truly one of the must play games of our world.

Touching again on the Talos Principle series - I can't forget the Road to Gehenna DLC.
It managed to do something to me that not many other games could.
Every time I describe it to people I get teary eyes - the tiny, naive human culture and the 'frog debates' you get to experience truly changed my outlook on the world.
The Talos Principle II recently did something similar and made me question things I haven't really thought about before.
How often can I say that after playing a certain game I became a better or a more complete / mature of a person?
I'd also like to highly recommend the Mateusz Skutnik's 'Submachine: Legacy' game - It really excels in the hard to describe 'vibe' category, has amazing art and sound design, unique puzzles and a story that draws you in and never provides enough answers, leaving your mind running and theorizing. Truly a unique experience.
I loved this video, I am so glad I came across this video. Although I must say, the first part of a world to explore was a bit boring the rest was awsome. This was just what I needed :)

For me it was EverQuest. Starting as an Elf on the far side of the world… leveling up and finally getting on a ship and discovering a town of human real world players and then eventually making it across treacherous mountains to find another starting area on the opposite side of the world. There was very little info on the internet to spoil these secrets. This will never happen again.
