Overall good, solid video! I think my only suggestion would be showing the entire procedure. Symptoms, scanning the vehicle, repair and then how the vehicle reacted to the replacements or repairs.
Thanks man for this. Have never done it before so appreciate your showing me how it's done. I have a 2005 so assume it's pretty much the same. And I like the way you hadn't pre-loosened bolts prior to making the video. Top stuff.
Great video! I don’t mind the music, but you could buy a cheap røde lav mic and just wear the microphone under your shirt and clip it on the collar for better audio. Procedure very well explained compared to A LOT of other auto tutorials. You’re the man. Keep it up.
I hope you did it right unlike this video and focus on the details. The Throttle Body Gasket cannot be reused! Manual specifically states that. Spark plugs must be torque to 13ft lbs. And please don't leave the wires dangling like that! In the SUPRA it comes with wire guides that keep them nice and neat. I'm in the process of working on my 98 right now too. This is the 2nd time I'm changing out the spark plugs. If you looking for Part Numbers and discount let me know I'll refer you!
I did this today.. just a heads up for everyone, you’re going to need some sealant. And don’t forget where you took the screws out from... this fixes a check engine light and a blinking trac off light.
Hey man , came across your video yesterday. Your video was great. Super informative and easy to follow that my girlfriend changed her spark plugs on her own. She made me just hold the light. Gave me beta vibes lmao. Anyways, we just wanted to give you a like and a big thank you.
Homie; you should never use anything but hand tools when removing spark plugs. It’s not worth the time if you strip the spark plug. Thanks for the vid though. Slow is fast bro…roll slow. Aloha from the 808
I’m having problems with my throttle body cable. I have to much slack and I can’t seem to have a way for the cable not to be lose when I reinstall it and when I do I turn on the car and it just raises rpm’s high
I get misfire occasionally on cylinder 5 when it’s hot out and I accelerate. Flashing trac and cel, I did plugs packs and wires about 30 k ago plugs are oem but everything else after market and cheap wires. Think it might be the wires?
I have random/multiple cylinder misfires (code p0300) Car runs great still. But I want to change my spark plugs and coils on my 02 is300 to see if that’s the issue. I heard NGK lithium spark plugs are great as well do you know what coil packs are recommended for is300?
4.9 out of 5 stars 33Reviews NGK # 6774 LASER IRIDIUM Premium Spark Plugs IZFR6K-13 Those are the best OE replacement plugs. If you go to rockauto.com they have the best prices for OE replacement coils. But the issue is most likely oil leaking into the cylinder head from bad valve cover gasket. So I recommend replacing the VCG and the plugs coils should be good
What misfires is the car having ? I have an 02 and it’s giving me the check engine light, giving error code p1121 P1121 LEXUS - Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Range/Performance Problem. Have you encountered this issue ???
Possible the ignition coil is bad. Easy way to tell is to replace the misfire coils to a cylinder that’s good and see if the misfire switches to the cylinder you replaced it to
Nice job! Can you help me? I have 99 GS300 with misfire on #3, I decided to change all such as wires, plugs, and coils ((3)). Problem acted up again: sakes, plow-by, when acerated.... I replaced 3 broken plugs for the coils, which I thought that may caused the problem due to possible wrong location, neg. / pos. Wires..but it shouldn't because the #3 cyn. still the problem. Thanks in advance.
its not too bad once you start getting into it! Personally i think its a fun way to learn how to take things apart at the same time, gaining the gratification of DIY
I did this too the T and now my CEL is telling me cyl 1 3 and 5 are misfiring.ive done everything To the T, meaning I’ve confirmed everything is where it should be. It wasn’t throwing these codes before. Any ideas?
I would first try and clear the code and see if it comes back. Other than mixing up the wires or not having them plugged all the way on to the spark plugs or the coil plugs completely on to the coils. It could be a possibility that the vehicle was on accessory and the plugs were unplugged. Throwing a code. Also the injectors often go bad on lexus/toyotas throwing a misfire code.
Arturo Salinas I don't think you need to do that if you have the right plugs. Always try to go with OEM from the manual. It doesn't give you more horsepower if you buy "better" plugs, unless you totally modify your engine, then you might need different ones.
Thanks for the video. But you really need to either remove the background music or turn the volume of it way down. It is really loud and drowns you out a bit making it hard to follow. Thanks.
Christina Campbell yeah I know I apologize for that I learned that. In all my future videos I drastically reduced the music volume. I like the aspect that the music gives to the videos but I completely agree with you. The music only stays on for 2-3 minutes
Good news: did everything and got it back together. Bad news: oil in all of the spark plugs so we dodnt replace them looks like the shop is where shes going
Oil in all the spark plug cylinders is a sign that your valve cover gaskets need to replaced, it is a fairly easy job, just takes a little time and patience
Yea is not that bad. Besides that Engine is Concrete!!! You can put easily 250K miles on it with NO oil leaks!!! Trust me I have that same engine in my car!!!
Michael Trinajstic make sure all wires or coils are plugged in make sure intake hose is securely connected or maf sensor. Check all connections and scan vehicle if you have a scanner
You can take them out no problem. It's the inexperience of people that have issues stripping the threads putting them back in ive been doing this for 10 years and I've never stripped a plug
I know this is old but please help me I'm having misfiring issue the car was running okay but had leg and lack of power so I change the spark plugs they were the same ones but I'm still having misfiring issues I think it's because I didn't change one out please help me
Cartoonz N 2JZ did you ever get it figured out? You have to check the codes and see which one is misfiring. Most likely the coil is bad or the injector. Those are the most common culprits. Easy check to see I'f the coil is bad is to just switch the suspected bad one with a easy to reach good and and the bad coil should switch to the cylinder when you rescan it
Thanks for a clear detailed video on how to disassemble the parts necessary to get to the spark plugs AND the reassembly process.
Great video, I’m a visual learner and this was very straight forward. I’m gonna tackle this on the weekend. Thanks
great clip, music too loud , I like to hear what you are saying. Thank you, i like your clips
Overall good, solid video! I think my only suggestion would be showing the entire procedure. Symptoms, scanning the vehicle, repair and then how the vehicle reacted to the replacements or repairs.

Great video. No music necessary. Rather her your instructions.
Hey bruv! Excellent video. Saved me so much time on my IS300. I'M now subscribed!!!
Awesome informative video. Changed the plugs on my 98 Supra 2JZ-GE just by watching this video
Awesome! I'm glad my video was helpful to you!

LifeTac my pleasure bro, wish the clips for the electrical plugs werent so brittle lmfao
Socket for a handle is good idea! Good video!
You would make a good teacher
Nice video bro 👌
Would be cool if you had shown the problem before and after.
I like your video
Oh this is gonna be fun. Lol. Oh well, totally worth it for what I'm driving. Just take the day and do it right. This vid will help.
When putting back on the rubber plenum spacer, is it necessary to buy a new one or use sealant? what if it leaks? :(
Thanks for the helpful tip brotha much appreciated 🙏🏾❤️
How do you get out the camshaft sensor from the 2002 gs300 lexus injection bar blocking the camshaft sensor
Good video. Although I usually hit the end of the boots with die-electric grease to seal.

sealant for what if you dont mind me asking

Is the Gen 1 is300 60k or 100k spark plug change interval?

Adam Francuzik I bought the same ones that you showing in the video thats why I ask about the gap. Im stock.
You don't mess with the gaps on NGK or Denso plugs. They are all checked to perfection during manufacture.
Always check gaps! What if the plug has been dropped?
