I have been an owner since 1987. I love it. I inherited additional points from my father. Boy was it awkward getting the deed transfered and getting Wyndham on board! They assumed I bought the points in the re sale market. They have a difficulty recognizing purchases in the re sale market. I finally got it sorted out at a presentation meeting. It was very annoying!
It's hard for me to tell what value is with timeshares. I used to think a wyndham access deal like the one mentioned in the video - you pay nothing, seller pays all transfer fees is a great deal. Then I learned timeshare companies are refusing to let people "give" them back for nothing to the timeshare company. So maybe what appears to be a great deal isn't so great anymore.
Chances are if you get it for free you can give it away for free. Perhaps you need to pay the closing costs and transfer fees to give it away, but there is nothing saying you need to have the developer be willing to take it. I suspect you can also give it away and have the buyer pay all the fees.
