      Many of the salesmen seem to know very little about how to use the points. They're a lot more interested in telling you about breaking their arm in the military, their 100-year-old grandma who loved to travel, etc.

    I remember someone on TH-cam complaining about their timeshare presentation where they were bussed out more than 20 miles away to a facility out in the middle of nowhere. In the wilderness with no traffic and at a single large building just for the timeshare presentation. The person said they did not even have a cell phone signal to call an Uber or Lyft. That is a situation where you are really stuck and at the mercy of the timeshare company. That would really be messed up.

    We are Westgate owners and lucky to get a great salesperson. We have one in Orlando. The owner referral program can pay for the timeshare itself if you’re serious about it. That’s what attracted me, being able to make money. We have gone to other timeshare presentations and declined.

    We LOVE sales presentations or "Owner Updates". The reward must be a bunch of points (Wyndham or Hyatt), or $200 Visa/MC/Amex card. We collect our freebies after they determine we are in no way in their target demographic. Just like Jeremy, we tend to know more than the salesman and the manager combined. LOL!!! One of our favorite presentations is when the salesperson is newish and does not listen to what we say. So the salesperson beats their head against the wall as we have a comeback for anything they try. Enjoy the experience and get your freebies!! Also remember...resales are your best friend in timeshares.

    The reason they publicly announce someone just purchased a timeshare and then clap is to display what's known as social proof. It's a sales tactic to instill confidence on others not sure about purchasing. Everything that you experience and visually see are all sales tactics. Even the wall of pictures is to display more social proof and have celebrity status.
    I've studied timeshare sales for some time and will say I'm fascinated with the sales techniques and psychology behind it all. Although I have no intentions of purchasing a timeshare contract.
    Someone down thread mentioned about being exhausted after a sales presentation, yes, that's another sales tactic to grind you down as they tag team, again it's part of the sales techniques as they rotate sales reps. Exploding offers are also very common, it's a hardball tactic. An exploding offer uses urgency, a demand and a punishment if not accepted, all in one. That's why they almost always have "buy now or this offer is gone".
    Looking forward to future videos on the presentation techniques they use. I'll write you more on the strategies if you're interested.

    One timeshare presentation about 8 years ago in Las Vegas, and was told that my timeshare would 10X in one year due to the Elvis exhibits on property. I may have mentioned this before, but I had a 2nd job working for a dying retail company that had been acquired for the purpose of dumping junk overstock into, and benefiting off the bankruptcy. He attached an Elvis store and museum under this throwaway corporation, in a partnership between Westgate and the Elvis estate. It quickly came apart with Westgate locking everything down, and the Elvis estate filing suit for their stuff back. It's funny because my friend helped set all that up, even drove one of Elvis' cars onto the showroom. I knew everything was about to go up in smoke, but I was told that this temporarily gimmick would make me rich buying Westgate!

    We took a Westgate timeshare your way back in 2000. As I recall, it was a lot like your experience, so not a lot of changes. We went for the theme park discount tickets offered at the time, so we actually had to pay to get out of the presentation as they had us buy the tickets from them.
    Shelley has little tolerance for the tours, so we rarely go on them, although we did three last year because the offers were to good to pass up. Throw enough money at me and I’ll give you 60 minutes.

    • @DestinationTimeshare
      @DestinationTimeshare  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not an attorney, so there isn't anyway I can help. If you have an outstanding mortgage on the timeshare, it can't be sold or given away. You may be able to deed it back to Westgate if it is paid in full, but they do charge a large fee to do this. The biggest piece of advice is to not pay someone who promises to get you out (timeshare exit company). They will take your money and do what you can do for free. They will tell you to stop corresponding with the timeshare company and stop making payments. Sending all correspondence to them. Then they will just have you default and the timeshare company will foreclose. You can do that yourself for free.
      Timeshare can be a great way to travel and save a lot of money doing it. Your week should be able to get you about 19 nights in timeshare units by utilizing Interval International. The worst timeshare is a timeshare that doesn't get used. I suggest looking up some Facebook Groups for Westgate owners to get some additional advice on how to use it.

    I advise anyone in the future never to buy a timeshare whatsoever. If you want that amenities, it would be best for you to go on these different websites to be able to basically purchase the timeshare from someone that already has one that’s trying to get rid of it or find out if someone’s trying to rent their time share so that therefore they could be able to try to recruit some of their money Back for actually paying the full timeshare versus you pay a hotel price a timeshare owner unfortunately at this moment with Westgate and if anyone is looking to wanna buy my timeshare, you’re more than welcome to buy buy it and I will turn the deed over to you transferring everything thing you have to do is basically pay the maintenance fee and the tax on it that’s it plus you get 1500 bonus points included on different website and see if

I know someone who owns a timeshare, and have heard from others who have bought timeshares saying that you sign a mountain of paperwork when you buy a timeshare, so claiming they signed a paper labeled an “attendance sheet” but somehow signed a whole timeshare contract doesn’t add up, neither does having lines of credit opened without them signing anything.
