For long range hunting, such as, fields or open country, the Long Beard XR with the Carlson choke is the best I have found.. It maintained its pattern after the 100th shot test ..I have killed turkey up to 70 yards using the Carlson choke with long beard XR #4 with my Remington 870 ... Trust me, I have tried just about everyone on the market, a lot of the after market choke tubs will stretch and lose their good patterns after 50 shots.. I've tested some that stretch out after only 10 shots using regular 3 inch #4 turkey loud... Some of the worst ones are sold through well known companies in the outdoor industry... But when it comes down to it, any shotgun , with any loud will kill a turkey if it's close enough👍Just know your guns ability...Be safe and good hunting 🦃
Winchester SXP with the Winchester (with choke that comes in it) Longbeard XR 3” #5 is weetoddidly tight out to 50. Better have a good aim at 20! Fist size pattern of fury until 35!
I shoot the Remington 887 Nitro Mag 12 gauge.. I used to shoot the Longbeard XRs and love them, but our local stores right now don't have any in stock, there's a large back order issue... so, that in mind, it's always good to have a back up shell that you can go to if you ever have a supply issue.. I also have the Carlsson Longbeard XR choke in .665. I found the Winchester Double X in 3" and #5 shot.. that is an amazing combo.. I had awesome patterns out to 40 yards.. I had my target stapled to a 2X4 stake and 3/4 " plywood back about 14" wide and 22" high.. staked them about 10" into the ground and even at 40 yards, it blew them over and out of the ground.. not a huge price difference, the Double X is a little cheaper by about $6 a box.. Watching your video, I can say the Double X in 3" and #5 shot, have a very similar if not identical pattern as the Longbeard XR.. not knocking the XR's, if my store got some in today I would be flying out to get some.. But, if you're stuck and don't want to wait for the XR's to get in stock, try the Double X... you may be surprised.. great video
