For long range hunting, such as, fields or open country, the Long Beard XR with the Carlson choke is the best I have found.. It maintained its pattern after the 100th shot test ..I have killed turkey up to 70 yards using the Carlson choke with long beard XR #4 with my Remington 870 ... Trust me, I have tried just about everyone on the market, a lot of the after market choke tubs will stretch and lose their good patterns after 50 shots.. I've tested some that stretch out after only 10 shots using regular 3 inch #4 turkey loud... Some of the worst ones are sold through well known companies in the outdoor industry... But when it comes down to it, any shotgun , with any loud will kill a turkey if it's close enough👍Just know your guns ability...Be safe and good hunting 🦃

Winchester SXP with the Winchester (with choke that comes in it) Longbeard XR 3” #5 is weetoddidly tight out to 50. Better have a good aim at 20! Fist size pattern of fury until 35!

I shoot the Remington 887 Nitro Mag 12 gauge.. I used to shoot the Longbeard XRs and love them, but our local stores right now don't have any in stock, there's a large back order issue... so, that in mind, it's always good to have a back up shell that you can go to if you ever have a supply issue.. I also have the Carlsson Longbeard XR choke in .665. I found the Winchester Double X in 3" and #5 shot.. that is an amazing combo.. I had awesome patterns out to 40 yards.. I had my target stapled to a 2X4 stake and 3/4 " plywood back about 14" wide and 22" high.. staked them about 10" into the ground and even at 40 yards, it blew them over and out of the ground.. not a huge price difference, the Double X is a little cheaper by about $6 a box.. Watching your video, I can say the Double X in 3" and #5 shot, have a very similar if not identical pattern as the Longbeard XR.. not knocking the XR's, if my store got some in today I would be flying out to get some.. But, if you're stuck and don't want to wait for the XR's to get in stock, try the Double X... you may be surprised.. great video

Love shooting longbeard xr 3.5 number 6 shot hard to beat combo in my 20 in remington 870 with carlson longbeard xr choke. 660 shoots killer patterns out to 50 although my maximum range is 35 to 40 because i love the thrill of calling birds in so close. And its nice to only pay 26 to 30 dollars a box of ten compared to 60 to 90 for a box of 5 and get the same results thanks for the review

All shotguns like what they like and it seems like no two are the same. That being said, I did a similar test with my Mossberg 930. I used new boxes of 3" Longbeard XR #5s and compared the Carlson choke tube to a Jebs .655. It was close, but the Jebs won out with the 3" Longbeard XR #5's. Interestingly enough, the factory Mossberg turkey choke was even with the Carlsons! Just found your channel and really enjoy your videos!

I’ve shot a couple of birds at 10 to 15 yards with my pattern master code black tube and cheap 3” 12 gauge Remington nitro express and almost missed them because the pattern looks like ashltgun slug hole. Your ammo tested does really good in the 10 gauge version at super long distance in my code black turkey tube in that one.

The worst tss shell will go at least 30 yards farther. Id never buy these. Its why there is so many boxes of Winchester shells still on the shelf. Overrated

Your right tss is overrated. If you need to shoot past 30 yards you need to learn woodsmanship skills. Lead has killed more turkeys than tss ever will bud

My 870 did better with the 3.5” 5’s vs the 3” in my kicks .660. But it did pretty good with old super x 3” 2oz 4’s and rem 3” nitro turkey 5’s as well. Edge to the 3.5 longbeard. It’s important to test this stuff in your particular gun. My patterns still dont look as tight as some youtube guys even with same chokes/loads.
