Near as i can see,You made the right choice. Deer are pretty resilient, strog. Have seen many deer running around with three legs and from year to year they do just fine. Course it would be harder with back leg fouled up. My personal thought. You did good.

Sad there are many so called hunters out there taking non ethical shots with bows. My bow has one pin, 30 yrds, there is always meat in my freezer.
