My 2c on stances here is don't sleep on the default single blade stance... I originally thought it sucked until I specced it up. It really is a great 'jack of all trades' stance that has a strong gap closer move, a strong air to ground move and a strong damaging move on the ground. Like a lot of ppl I was rocking double blade or dual wield exclusively and then running into issues vs certain foe types (ie double blade doing pathetic damage vs big tanky foes or not enough AoE on dual wield on multiple tankier or shielded opponents) then ultimately finding that just switching back to the default single blade rounds almost everything out. Sure you lose any pointed advantage but you also lose any pointed disadvantage... Respawn really did balance this one well. The rest is down to player skill in the end. I still wish the game had stance switching like Ghost of Tsushima though... that would have been the perfect way to handle stances and I will forever keep saying this.

@@asad-ullahkhan2368 I've played much more since writing the original comment and I've grown positively in love with the aerial version of the Hold L1+ Press attack gap closer move... If you have lock on, you can jump any direction and it will break physics/momentum when the move executes... great for literally jumping to dodge a move and then instant countering, then landing and adding on more ground hits. The gap closer move alone IMO is worth keeping this stance on permanently unless you decide to swap it out for blaster stance as it's the only thing that can make up the distance deficit.

Finally, a force user using a blaster. If they can acurrately block blaster bolts, I'd imagine they'd have pin point accuracy for every shot.

The moveset looks awesome, but why does this series of Star Wars games seem so quiet and slow compared to Battlefront and Force Unleashed.. Though this game looks great, it doesn't feel as lively or intense without nonstop blaster fire and huge mechanical war machines.

there's a minigame where you pit the troops you scanned against an other squad of troops and you can watch them fight it out!

Honestly, I didn't expect it to look this good but especially not the accuracy damage/strikes showing where you hit enemies. It's like one tiny step below Arkham group combat fluidity only because it looks like you can't chain attacks. However, it's almost there yet also has a RDR2 style gun mechanic for the blaster combat mixed with mass effect skill tree/themes using the force and what not. I'm actually impressed compared to the other games.

Jedi Knight jedi academy had the best light saber combat ever and it 20 years old that game .
Don’t know much about this game nor star wars in general and don’t care much about spoilers. Is this character a jedi knight, padawan, master? Cuz these moves are definitely much more impressive than the ones i saw in the movies.

No one seems to want to use the crossguard stance that much, I’m worried it’s badly designed
It’s a great sword and it has slow powerful attacks. For those who haven’t played Darksouls or Elden Ring, it might be hard for them to get use to it.
I’m going to be using it a lot though since I really love how it gives Cal a Crusader look. And I’m going to make it look awesome with the customization!
That, and I believe that I can adjust to the slow combat, if not I’m going to force myself to do so. I love the Crossguard Stance and I want to use it a lot.
It actually requires skill to use, not poorly designed
@@windghost2 bro I’ve been reading a lot of comments like that, for me I’m way more of a counter attacker so I think the cross guard will suit my play style really well
Had a feeling… it’s more of a heavy weapon that will do major damage but from what I’m told (maybe wrong but who knows) is that it’s less of a defensive type of lightsaber. I really don’t know which two stances I am selecting, I am definitely considering the double-blades for covering large ground & maybe the double-wielded

Haven’t seen any spoilers yet, but Cal’s fighting style definitely seems more violent and sith-like than fallen order
Also I love that the lightsaber can actually cut enemies in half now

Damn beastmode!! The combat kinda remind of force unleashed but wayyyy more options and the sword stance is ridiculous. You can tell they mocapped actual swordsman with the level of skill of the blade & motion. I think I like the blast and two blades the best. The long saber seems slow

Not everyone experiences bad performance and it’s very slight performance issues, people just like to exaggerate.

Genuine Question....is this game focused on Light Saber fighting? I ask because I dont have the game but the little gameplay I did swe is mainly Saber Fighting. I dont see much usage of force power other than the gravity stuff. I think Force Unleased had a lot more use of different types of Force Usage.

You can only use 2 stances and you can change it in the resting point. But it might be possible to max level all of them but it surely takes time

It's an upgrade you get from merrin that allows you to dash through shield walls
In one mission, you do get to use night sister teleportation/flying and it's intense.
I honestly think this game should've been rated M. I mean we are swinging a Lazer sword around. It really is a Bummer all we see is Ignited Scratches on the enemies.

i have to say... the combat seems flashy but unimpressive and mostly because the enemies seem underwhelming, are like this most of the normal encounters?

@@sk8ermGs counterargument: if my maxed character can't truly be challenged, is there a point of reaching that point? Sure, it can give feelings of power to the player that reach that point, but as a showcase it's not that valuable.
